Booked this stay through hotels.com after our flight was cancelled out of NJ. Other hotels in the area were over $350 and we were in a jam. Based on the hotels.com advertisement, we thought this was a hotel, but it was much more like a hostel. Individual rooms with common dining and shower spaces. When we found the place, the front door was wide open (I think otherwise I would have been hard to tell it wasn’t someone’s home). We weren’t given a key for our room, there were big bugs in the room, and a used condom was in the bedroom trashcan with no liner. When we left in the morning, the front door was wide open again- not sure if it stayed that way all night, but it felt a little unsafe. The staff was good, but we definitely wouldn’t choose to stay here again. I wish the advertisement was more clear on the reality of the room. We want others to know what they are signing up for :(

This is a house for bad people. I felt like my life was in danger so I left. STAY AWAY

The host was very nice and the property was comfortable. My only gripe is that is was pretty warm when we got in, but after the AC was running for a couple of hours it got better.

While the community bath was an experience, ( It is a guest house after all) The rest was great. The rooms were as advertised, clean and comfortable. If you need an inexpensive place to stay for a few nights in Newark or a place to crash for your red-eye this is an excellent choice.

I did not recognize the house at first because they had no sign but it was easy to get there. It’s a bit pricey for the room because I had to pay an extra for cleaning services so it was very close to a hotel room price. Overall the location is convenient and communication was great.

The location feels very unsafe. There is no private bathroom in the rooms which you need to share with others. This was not stated in the descriptions. We immediately left after seeing the property. A disappointing experience with hotels.com. I consider less and less using this platform as it allows subpar hosts to rip off customers.

i like this place. it's like a boarding house in a townhouse in a quiet neighborhood. comfortable and the hosts were great. had a little issue checking in - they weren't immediately available and i was late and needed to get going - but worked out. biggest complaint - door on shared bathroom on my floor didn't fit in doorway and couldn't be locked. as a solo woman - that's a big problem. but in general i liked it. and nice price.

Great place to stay. Host was amazing and super friendly. The room was clean, fresh, and it makes me feel like i'm home. Overall the stay was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the guesthouse is in a very convenient location—within walking distance of good food and activities.

Just not what I expected for the price. Shared bathroom with no tissue and trash 🗑️. Looked all over the place for 🗑️ and couldn’t find any. Dirty dishes all over the kitchen. Dust everywhere in our room and very cold. Ad on Expedia was very misleading. I really thought it was more like a motel setup but it was nothing like that at all.

I like the set up of the room and living room. What I can do without is using the same bathroom with everyone. the bed could have been fixed on the one side but it was comfortable. Would I go back Yes as long as i can have the same room. And would recommend it.

The place look abndoned, they didnt know to speak in english, i saw 2 mice on the floor, and no one know to tell me the pasword of the wifi.

This unique Place is conveniently located. Host is friendly, very responsive, and informative about the area. I enjoyed the shared spaces and talking with other guests and the host. Place is clean. Kitchen is nice for cooking. Rooms are upstairs - use light luggage if you're challenged with stairs. I booked an extra night to stay. I look forward to my next stay when I return for my business work in Manhattan.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room had lots of outlets and was comfortable. For the price, you sacrifice some in amenities. No towels, hand towels, or washcloths unless requested; no soap; no trash cans in the bedrooms; no locks on the doors; restricted access to the front door, incl. lack of access to keys or a pin pad. I would not recommend this place to young women as such. However if you need a quick budget stay, it's otherwise a good option.
