We had the most wonderful stay at Kempinski Munich! The hotel was simply gorgeous! Breakfast was served at the most beautiful setting and the food was top notch. We also loved the Jahreszeiten Bar, it made us feel like we were in some glamorous 1920's bar and that Charles Chaplin could walk in at any moment. Our room was lovely (they even provided rubber ducks for the bathtub, which was a first for us) and since the temperature was about 33C outside I can't say enough how nice it was to have a really good air-conditioning in the room. And finally the staff. They were so kind and thoughtful and they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. Special thanks to Pia Scholz and Melanie Bauer from Guest Service. We won't stay anywhere else when visiting Munich, that's for sure.

Had lovely check in. Our 2 rooms were interconnected but took hours & multiple requests to have connecting doors opened.
Multiple bad customer service experiences especially with bar staff in the evening.
Room was small but ok. Housekeeping was excellent. Breakfast was additional €45pp and not v good except for inlet station.
At Check out had been billed for car parking & they kept asking was I sure I didn’t park…. Very sure, we had no car!
A lot of € spent but not great experience unfortunately.

cigar smoking room was a nice surprise. The TOTO all in one bidet toilet was, well, great. Pool was nice room was super clean.

This is my first time to use Expedia, and after I arrived I wanted to end my stay early and visit nearby friends. The Hotel said my reservation was non-refundable and I would have to pay the entire cost. I tried contact Expedia for advice, but I could not get through to anyone. I doubt I will use Expedia in the future.

Amazing stay near the heart of the Altstadt. The hotel was luxurious in a prime location with excellent amenities and helpful, welcoming staff. Five stars. We definitely return.

Located in a great area for shopping, walkable distance to Munich landmarks and plenty of public transport options. The door people and room service staff were lovely.
For such an expensive hotel I found the service at reception very underwhelming. The lighting in the room, especially bathroom for doing makeup etc was terrible. The shower was also horrible.

Very nice hotel overall. A little disappointing that the “view” out of the windows was an inner rooftop area of blank walls. Also, small things such as a cheap coffee maker in the room and no shower lotion soap, just bar soap. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the lobby is very nice.

We absolutely love the hotel! The only down side was that so do many other people apparently. The lobby bar was always crowded as well as the hotel bar. Whenever we asked if there was seating, they said we needed to reserve a spot. But there were conflicting answers whenever we tried to request a spot. Others however seemed to come and sit right down without waitstaff assigning spots. Disappointed in the handling of seating. I felt that hotel guests should be given priority.

Rooms were very small
Asked to upgrade room, was told no larger rooms were available.
Night manager not friendly or overly helpful.
Maintenance got blood on our draperies while working on securing windows.
And ALL THE SUDDEN THEY UOGRADED ONE OF OUR ROOMS TO A SUITE…. But supposedly the night before were all sold out due to a conference.

This is a phenomenal property- would not stay anywhere else in Munich- this hotel is probably the most service oriented property I’ve stayed in - there is never a “no” answer to any question..

Beautiful hotel Everytime we come to Munich we stay in this hotel. Room had low ceiling but nice walls and exotic/oriental bed. But the room was smaller than i exoected. Breakfast was amazing very delicious and so rich. Beautiful and delicate breakfast area. Lobby always crowded and service staff was kind but i ordered pomme frites and it was somehow not fresh like it was fried before and microwaved before being served(?) not sure… and the taste was bad. Our luggages arrived one day later (due to airline problems) and we were surprised to see the luggages in our room without us being called or informed (?!)

Low ceilings, tiny room and bathroom, the service was very good but the hallways and rooms are depressing, dark and seem very old. No handicap accessibility. Ie can’t roll your bags to the rooms. 6 steps between the lobby and elevators.
