recently renovated rooms were super clean and comfortable. perfect location for downtown Santa Barbara. close to all

Pros: recently renovated, beautiful updated rooms, super dog friendly (even offered dog beds), great location right on State St (quick walk to beach or funk zone).
Cons: the hotel is located next door to a few bars, the bass from the DJ was SO loud at night. I would highly recommend bringing ear plugs (the front desk didn’t have any). Also the air conditioning was acting up so in the mornings while we were getting ready the room temp was 74 and muggy. Lastly, room service is only provided upon request, which we didn’t realize until we came back at dinner time to a dirty room and inquired.
Overall nice hotel, would have enjoyed more with ear plugs and functional AC.

Really enjoyed the staff, from valet Cruz and the front counter, each person was helpful and personable. The room was very fresh, great price, however it never reached 72 degrees, which was a bit of a downer. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was efficient and very clean. We were close to everything we wanted to see or dine on this Thanksgiving getaway. We will be back.

Renovated rooms are very nice! This is an older property that is finishing 1st floor renovation, but that didn't impact our stay at all. Location is perfect for walking to the best of State Street.

It was upsetting that when booking I wasn't informed that this hotel was under construction. I received a notification after I had booked. I went to rest and was awoken by the fire alarm going off. Very unpleasant.

I've stayed in this hotel before. I had a nice visit. There are renovations going on, and that was an inconvenience, but the staff did their best under the circumstances. I plan to stay at this hotel again in the future.

The Hotel Santa Barbara is very conveniently located for shopping and dining. There are museums and other attractions a short walk away. A walk of about ten minutes brings you to the beach. All of the the staff members I met are very nice and helpful. There are a few loud bars nearby. I used earplugs, so it wasn't a problem for me. It is very nice that the hotel has loaner bikes for visitors to borrow. -Tim B-

Excellent location with the most incredible staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, we were welcomed and treated with respect and care. We experienced the best in hotel service, and appreciated every interaction. Looking forward to a return visit to Hotel Santa Barbara!

This hotel was a prefect spot for my wife and I to experience the best of Santa Barbara! The hotel and room were in great shape and offered plenty in terms of comfort and cleanliness. The location was by far the best with plenty of dining, shopping and entertainment options. Definitely will be coming back for another stay.

First time at this hotel. The architecture of the hotel is spectacular. Room was odd. Had to step up to get to bathroom. It’s a bit tired. The good news is it’s being refurbished. Image it will be great when done.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Hotel Santa Barbara. As we love vintage buildings, we make it a point to stay in old hotels. Our room was small and cozy, as was the bathroom. Both of what we expected. The hotel is in the process of being renovated, that said the carpet/paint/furnishings were tired. We loved the location. We could walk to the Courthouse, and the museums. State Street features many great restaurants, but we loved Joe’s Cafe located directly across the street from the hotel. We would definitely stay there again.

All about the location! Room was very small, however were well appointed and quiet. Have to valet park there $30 per day. Valet staff great but not available before 7am which was not great for our circumstances. Front desk staff was not very welcoming.

This charming little gem is the best of SB. Wonderful location, spotless room, and literally the friendliest staff ever. When they heard I recently earned my PhD, I was surprised with a congratulatory card & champagne in our room. We will definitely be back!
