I can only say that this hotel is an experience beoynd the ordinary. Such service, breakfast and environment.

This was an amazing stay. My wife and I came for a short weekend vacation and loved every minute. The hotel is perfectly located with good food options all around (check out the Momo pizza place). It is close to public transport options and when we stayed it had two Christmas markets near by. The stuff is amazingly friendly, with contagious smiles and welcoming atmosphere. Lastly, a great breakfast was included with a variety of breads, cheese, hams, eggs and fruits. We will definitely come again

I loved this hotel and would return without hesitation. It’s nicely situated just outside the main tourist area but within an easy walk of major attractions. It’s also very close to a subway stop. The room was beautifully decorated, roomy, bright and airy. It had really high ceilings. And the shower was very good, though it did routinely leak onto the floor. That was the only problem and it was relatively minor. Breakfast was good though the service there was inconsistent. The first day a server told me the specials and took my order. The second day I had to chase someone down. I skipped breakfast the third day. Otherwise the service was excellent. The afternoon tea and cake in the salon was nice too.

An outstanding hotel, the staff could not do enough to make my stay more comfortable. The rooms are brilliantly designed and luxurious. Food is great quality, service is excellent but not over bearing.

The rooms was excellent, as was the location if you want to visit the old city. The lounge was also fantastic, well setup and the staff was great. I will go back again for certain.

We booked a Large Double Room. The first room we were allocated was awful. Tiny shower room and was not decorated at all. As we said at the time, it felt like a room in a mental asylum. We were then given Room 23 which was marginally better but looked nothing like any of the rooms on the website. I had a look in other rooms when housekeeping were in and I think we got one of the worst rooms in the hotel. The restaurant recommendation we were given was not great. Overall, fine if you need to be in that part of Vienna, but not a destination hotel by any means. Short on style and certainly not luxurious.

Our second stay. This is a boutique hotel in an excellent location. Will stay hete again. No need to say more

Exceptional hotel. Comfortable rooms, free bikes available, fantastic breakfast, and really nice lounge for guests with daily afternoon tea and kuchen. Very strongly recommend. A/c also works really well. 6-7 minute walk to U bahn. Great neighborhood with many wonderful restaurants.

The bed in our room had a very firm mattress. We received some relief after bringing this up with hotel staff and they provided mattress toppers. Our initially assigned room (junior suite) faced a busy street. The noise level and poor insulation due to old windows kept us up into early morning hours. Hotel staff was responsive to our complaints and assigned us a much more agreeable room (same category). The water in the shower of the new room drained very slowly, effectively flooding the bathroom each time we used it. The continental breakfast buffet was plentiful and provided lots of choice. The hotel is in a great, very central location. The entire hotel is full of art works and eclectic designs. If you’re an art lover, this place is made for you! Generally speaking, hotel staff were very responsive to our wishes and needs. We would probably not stay at this property again as the individualistic design of the assigned room might not be to our liking. We also missed the presence of an in-house restaurant and/or bar. We obviously knew about the latter two points, but wanted to try it out anyway. The hotel does provide a printed map card with recommended restaurants. Overall it was a good hotel, just not our taste.

The Hotel Altstadt is a great place to stay, location is excellent, the rooms are very clean and well stocked, the staff are polite and professional and the breakfast and afternoon tea are superb. We would definitely stay here again.

This was our first wedding anniversary and we celebrated with a weekend at the Christmas markets. The hotel was amazing from start to finish. Really friendly reception staff beautiful afternoon tea and breakfast included in your room rate. The decor is class lots of style and you can tell alot of thought and design has gone into its creation. I could not rate this hotel high enough and we will definitely stay here on our next trip to Vienna ❤

Breakfast & afternoon tea was great, had difficulty adding an extra day. Added extra day but at a considerable price increase, which was reduced after a negotiation. Hotel had a power outage at 5:00 -10:00 AM on our first night, which made life difficult. The hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of Sparkling Rose & chocolates on our last night to make up for the power outage!

The whole ambiance of the hotel from its decor & artwork to the excellent attention from the staff made this a very memorable stay.The breakfasts were superb & obviously much thought & work has gone into the menus & preparation.The honesty bar with its unique local Austrian wines made for a very pleasant & relaxing place to unwind in the evening.This hotel is unique & special. A well kept secret

Nice, historical building, with friendly staff. Great location, close to shopping area. WiFi slow, but an extender received from reception, made the trick.

Breakfast and lounge areas are relaxing and comfortable. Loved the afternoon tea. Ours rooms were small but clean and adequate. Staff were always on hand and helpful.

Simply amazing.

From the outside it is unassuming and the entryway is “rustic” but once you pass through the sensor operated doors to the reception the very knowledgeable and informative staff lead you to a lovely room that includes everything you need (plus a heated bathroom floor). Tea time comprises of a buffet of 20 different candies in jars plus cakes and a wonderful selection of tea. The bar is not monitored and is on an honor system which I found particularly welcoming because of the feeling of trust you get in a place where traveling is always accompanied with a weary eye looking for the next scam or cheat that is sadly everywhere in the world. Absolutely loved this place

Staff went above and beyond both when checking in. At breakfast and when using amenities such as city bikes etc.Rooms varied and it may be nice to chose a suite as opposed to a regular room for more space.Breakfast was included and exceptional

I was on the first part of my Eat/Pray/Love trip and I could not have picked a better place to stay. The staff was so helpful, the room was exactly as advertised, and the breakfast was amazing. Best part was everything I wanted to do was within walking distance. If I ever get back to Vienna I'm definitely staying here!

We loved the hotel and would highly recommend it. it is first class from the comfortable, quiet room to the delicious breakfast. The amenities are great. There was a Nespresso coffee maker in the room, fridge, safe and wonderful A/C. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient.
