Nice location Customer service on reception wasn’t great No dining available since there were private functions on….

We booked to stay for the air show. Prior to me booking the Suncliffe i called them directly to check that we were able to use the outside pools at their adjoining hotels (both part of the Oceana group) i was reassured that we would be able to make use of all the facilities so i booked. However when we arrived we were told we were not able to use the outdoor pools, we weren't able to sit out on the hotels terrace to enjoy the airshow, we couldn't use the pub in the hotel and if we wanted to eat there we had to pre order at reception and eat in the basement restaurant. We were really excited for our stay but the above put a dampner on our time there and will not come back to this hotel again.

Great day great staff and really enjoyed the stay and the room,special mention to sale who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay ,only downside the staff at reception aren’t very welcoming ,I get they are busy but they are the gateway to the hotel and were polite enough but didn’t really interact or make you feel important whereas bar staff and other staff around the hotel were super friendly and made you feel welcomed.even the catering manager made a point of saying hello.reception only interacted when you approached them but you felt more like you were a distraction from what they were doing rather than a guest

Breakfast wasn’t the best and the windows needs a good clean. Overall you get what you pay for.

The hotel is clean and tidy but rather tired. It seems very impersonal and not very organised. I think they have just changed the system and are trying to get to grips with it but there is a definite staff shortage. There is only one barman and he has to also serve the food in the bar so queues form at peak times. It needs to be more welcoming and more information given as you have to keep going and asking.

Not great experience, tab in basin very old style, room was far away from lift , very less parking available even though it was paid, less option for vegetarian for breakfast

It was my mothers 80th! Terrible service, room was so dated. Black ground in bathroom. Shower did not work. Our whole view was a generator blocking our window with a pigeon nesting rest outside our window.

Dirty sheets…so noisy. Small rooms.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Was a long walk to the beach. Could use next door hotel ( part of the chain) outside pool which was good as weather was hot for some of our stay. Could use Suncliff indoor pool but was very busy. Breakfast okay.. hot and cold choices. Rooms clean and beds comfortable. Unfortunately children staying there were allowed to run around at night and bang on peoples doors.. Did report it to reception.

The outside tables and chairs needed and decking needs a complete revamp.bedroom could do with having a small fridge and air con .

Our stay was good. We used the indoor pool for most of our stay, the swimming pool room was warm but the pool was really cold. Took a while to adjust to the temperature but even that we were shivering still. The bar area was nice, spacious and comfortable. The beach was near by, as well as walking to the high street if we needed more snacks for the room.

My single room was a little better than I had last year ,the bathroom was much better and the bed and furniture are ok. It really needs new windows and carpet and decorating, as does much of the hotel. The food was ok but we only ate there once as the beer was undrinkable. I took first pint back which they replaced without fuss ,from a different pump but not much better. I tried a different beer but left it after a mouthful .perhaps the lagers are better ? we ate and drank elsewhere after that. The pool is ok but an odd shape but still ok.

Restaurant and breakfast staff were wonderful (lady with red, short hair was quite pleasant, can’t remember her name, she was super kind and professional). Live music was great too. Reception staff however are quite irritable and not very competent. Had to repeat myself so many times when requesting to keep the same room for two separate reservations we made. This resulted in 3 visits to reception when it could have been resolved in under 2 minutes. Wait times to be seen by a receptionist were ridiculously long too. Staff didn’t provide any information about the facilities available at the hotel and not once they gave us any information about the location of breakfast and restaurant. We didn’t find out there were lifts available until our last day. They simply handed us a keycard and not one piece of information was given to us so we had to ask receptionists for information about the hotel several times. Receptionist Anusha was quite rude and unwilling to help us. The room was boiling hot and the fan provided didn’t work properly, luckily we bought one from home which kept us cool during the night.

The outside of the hotel is rundown, but the room pictures online looked promising. As it was just us, we treated ourselves to a room on the 'penthouse' 4th floor. The room was tiny & very disappointing. The only good feature was the balcony & view. We only had breakfast - there was no option on the Hotels.com page to prebook breakfast, only a 'half-board' option, which we didn't need (they don't advertise it, but if you pay for breakfast when you arrive, it is discounted to £11pp). We decided to have breakfast in bed. There was no breakfast card in the room, so we had to go down to reception to get one (the receptionist didn’t know what we were talking about, so had to ask fot help). We filled it out & popped it out at approx 11pm (we had until 3am to put it out). In the morning, at about 8.20am (we had asked for breakfast between 8.30-9am) I asked my husband to doublecheck that the card had gone, but to our surprise it was still on the door! He rang down to reception, who told us we'd have to being it down, which we did. It arrived 30 mins later, stone cold! The whole point of breakfast in bed means you don't have to get dressed & go down! When mentioning this at check-out, she merely shrugged & said she'd have a word with the night porter. We were still charged the £5 tray fee! Parking is also charged at £12 for 24hrs (we got there at 7pm, but still had to leave the carpark at 2pm!). We won't stay here again.

I was very impressed by all the staff in the hotel. Without being asked they helped with bags and opening doors etc. The food in the hotel was very good and not too expensive, even the wine was a reasonable price. Only down side was public transport. Buses very irregular and sometimes non existent. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful ocean views

Pool amazing, location in bournemouth good. The staff were very nice and professional, particularly dining room Hotel itself tired looking and a little tatty. Only one cup for tea and coffee when there were 2 of us. Shampoo not replenished each day.

Reception staff very good, friendly and helpful. Room was compact, hot and stuffy. Breakfast was a let down, lots of people asking for food, bowls and juices to be replenished even though it didn't seem that busy. A couple of the breakfast staff just grunted at people asking for things

I enjoyed my stay, the room I was allocated was tired and needed redecoration, but I stay 2 nights only and did not spend much time in my room. Hotel in a good location to walk to and from train station, access to the beach and the bus stop was a pick up for the 24-hour hop-on/hop-off bus (but only a pick up point for first 2 morning collections and not a drop-off point.

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. They provided us with packed breakfast when we needed to leave earlier for our trip. Our ground floor room and bathroom were modern, nice and clean. It was the smallest room too so a bit cheaper. The only problem was our window, which only had a pretty blind, no voile for privacy, overseeing the courtyard and we could see the hotel staff (and they us if they'd looked up) so everytime we wanted to change we had to close the blind and turn on the light. We spoke to the reception about it and they offerred another room which we declined since we already settled in. Hopefully, they'd fit in a voile now, and give the window a good clean too. Other than that, we were happy with the stay, pool facilities and the location was brilliant, close to the beach so we would definitely go back :)
