Its a hotel. My first time staying here 3 yrs ago seemed better, but maybe because it was just an overnight. The people are fanastic. There were beer cans outside on the patio, but the room itself seemed clean. The bed was way too hard and uncomfortable, which with how amazingly confortable and cheap you can find mattresses these days on Amazon, I find it crazy that more hotels dont have better beds. The place is super close to a lot of great outdoor adventures though, which is why i picked it in the first place.

The biggest problem I had was with my small dog who was fairly frantic the whole time I was there. He didn’t seem to be able to relax at all & wouldn’t go into his crate to sleep. During the night he barked several times for no reason. In the morning I was speaking to a woman working in the grocery store who said there was paranormal activity at the hotel & that animals were more sensitive to it than humans. Although I really appreciated the help I got at check in I was surprised to find that my normally calm dog, who is an emotional support animal, was not able to be the comfort he usually is to me. I will probably not stay here again. I also thought the condition of the hotel, especially cleanliness was substandard.

I’ve never been so pleasantly shocked by staying at a property. When I arrived, they gave me a free upgrade to the king suite. Everything is right there, dining, concerts on the weekends, tattoo shop, you name it. I will definitely be hoping to come back, it’s the best place I’ve stayed! Even when we had a problem with an order in dining, they were very fast to make things right and I appreciate the staff so much!

Wonderful staff! Spacious room and a comfortable bed. We really enjoyed the live music on Friday and Saturday nights while sitting on the balcony. The only problem was the ac kept turning off so we opened the door to the private balcony to cool the room off. Perfect place for a little get away and we will be back.

This was my second time staying. I like the spacious rooms (they’re huge), and how quiet it is. The beds are pretty comfy, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. One thing to improve… the dog poop area needs to be cleaned periodically, because people aren’t cleaning up after their dogs.

Friendly and helpful staff. The room is very spacious and comfortable bed.. Nice balcony to sit on to enjoy the view and the live music in the evening. We definitely will be coming back to this little hidden gem.

Huge room for the price, great balcony with views. Convenient location between Santa Cruz and San Jose. Will be staying here again.

Spacious rooms and friendly staff

The rooms were actually very nice and clean. The parking area was tight. You cannot see the oncoming traffic once you pull out of the parking area by where the rooms are. I was almost hit twice.

Quick one night stay for wharf to wharf. Really cool spot, will be back!

Really quaint and rustic. Great staff restaurant for breakfast was top notch. Location is excellent for Henry Cowell state park!

Due to a power outage, we did not get in our room until an hour after the stated time despite requesting an early check in that morning. Even after we got in our room, we had no power for two more hours so we couldn't do anything until three hours after our original check in time. I don't blame the hotel for the power outage, but there was no apology, no offer to make it right in any way. On top of all this, there was a concert going on that same night in the attached bar that we were completely unaware of. The concert lasted until 10 so we were unable to sleep until after that time. I was unable to connect one of my devices to the wifi because of a weird setting they had with a wifi landing page. I will not come back here and do not recommend it. It's a glorified road motel.

This was an amazing stay, I would love to come back here and would definitely recommend this stay. The rooms were very spacious and clean, the bathrooms were spacious as well with great lighting and a tub which is nice. The balcony was very enjoyable at night and the layout was just great. This was a comfortable cozy stay and I loved it. The staff was nice as well :)

This place was probably nice 20 years ago. It seems like it’s been allowed to deteriorate with very few improvements over the years. The staff were friendly but that’s about it. The downstairs room could hear every movement of the upstairs neighbors. It would have been nice to be placed in a room without someone directly upstairs. (It wasn’t very full on a Thursday night so that seems reasonable.)
