Lovely hotel in stunning setting. Everything was great, staff, bedroom, service and especially good food in restaurant. Parts of hotel currently undergoing redecoration but that didn’t impact on our stay, from the parts already finished looks like it will be even lovelier.

This is an excellent hotel with really good food and a good feel about it.

Been going to the Lakes for over 20 years and we thought we had stayed at some great hotels until we stayed here. After a couple of hard years where customer service had gone down the pan, this experience was incredible. Brilliant food, excellent service and beautifully decorated. Not at tired like many other hotels.

Great service, really helpful, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with good beds, really good food and set in the middle of some of the most beautiful countryside in the world. A+++ hotel!

Very nice hotel and the surrounded natural places

Cannot fault this hotel. Location is STUNNING! Food brilliant and staff efficient and friendly. An old style country house hotel with fabulous gardens. 100% recommend

Hotel was lovely. We booked a delux room with a king size bed and garden view. Although we were assured it was a king size bed we thought it was a double. But it was comfortable. And our view was of the car park. Overall a perfect location and staff very polite.

Nice and quier hotel in a stunning location

Great couple of days at the hotel, room good size and bathroom too. Great views from the room /Hotel. Food very nice and service excellent. Bus to/from Keswick stops outside hotel. Lots of walks from the hotel. Had superb weather which always makes the stay a winner too but a nice place to stay whatever the weather.

Very helpfull staff and hospitable atmosphere

Good hotel with great views of the crags.Situated just on the edge of the village of Grange about 5 miles from Keswick. Some nice walks with an easy 40 minute walk to Lodore Falls. Regular bus service to the bridge at the entrance to Grange if you don’t want to walk back. The staff were excellent and couldn’t have been more helpful. The only negatives were the room not being serviced between days however the guy cleaning the vacant next door room freely offered to do ours when requested for fresh tea and milk supplies which earned him brownie points. Additionally the kitchen seems to struggle on Saturday night and Sunday morning. We didn’t order a starter on Saturday which seemed to upset the system. After prompting following a 30 minute wait bread and an amuse bouche arrived but our meal took 50 minutes to appear. On Sunday morning the neighbouring table were still waiting for coffees when we left despite having eaten their starter off the buffet and the arrival of their cooked breakfasts. However would I choose this hotel again? Yes I would. You certainly won’t get a better group of staff wherever you stay

Great service

The reception was very friendly, the bedroom spotless. The food was excellent and the waitering service was very good and friendly. All in all would highly recommend.

Food very good but everything else was disappointing

The Hotel was lovely. Our room was very comfortable and clean. All of the staff were lovely, helpful and very professional. Best food I have ever had. Would definitely stay again.

Set in a great location.All staff were wonderful and friendly.We dined in both evenings - food was superb.Breakfast was also great and staff made sure you had plenty of coffee etc.We were in ‘classic double room’ -nice view but warm with no ventilation.Bed was comfortable.TV channels not very good! Overall - excellent !!

Great stay! The hotel is in the middle of mountains which is just fantastic. Feels truly countryside with great service.

We loved the period building, the way it was furnished and the seating arrangement in the restaurant that made the most of the countryside views. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful including tips on local walks. We should’ve booked for longer but were en route to Scotland and will definitely be back.

The hotel & surroundings are perfect but better still its the staff who make it even better. Starting with house keeping, Sue the receptionist, the glorious front of house team to the highly skilled Chef everyone is really friendly & cant do enough to help. Your stay & comfort means everything to them, we absolutely loved our stay & will return again Easter next year.

A comftable discreet hotel with friendly staff and good food. The rooms were very relaxing and clean. It's selling point for me was it's location with access to so many walks in the area. We plan to go again on a regular basis.

Great hotel for a short break. We had the added bonus of great weather but the lakes are beautiful in any weather. A very enjoyable stay and would go again. We had lovely views from our room, even from the bathroom! All the staff were very helpful. The food was superb, although a little expensive but if you're looking for a treat it's just right. There are other places to eat within a short drive if you want a change. It's a place to relax after a day walking or sightseeing, or just to get away from it all.
