Garden, food and TV showing football. Garden good if overgrown

Booking in was OK but earlier arrivals had been given our double room so we had to have room with 2 singles. Room very small. Pub is locked at night with no staff on site. You cannot get into the pub at night. Coming down for breakfast at 8.25 still locked. Chef arrived at 8.55 saying breakfast booked at 9am. Totally unacceptable and must change. The dining room has an outside door which we had a key to. In case of fire the escape from your room was via ROPE LADDER which you throw through the window and climb out -- This is NOT A JOKE staff told us this was real. Never encountered this before and for elderly, infirm or young residents is totally unacceptable.

Staff always friendly, breakfast very good, great value.

Sofa bed needs much thicker mattress!

Character charm, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff, ample parking and good food.

The carpet on the stairs and landing looked a bit shabby.

Dinner in the pub was way better than expected, the menu is standard pub grub but chef is clearly talented. Staff all super friendly and helpful. Breakfast bespoke, I could have had anything but I was full (see comment about dinner). Overall very good VFM.

Bathroom rather tired... but a bath - which I love. You would have been disappointed if you wanted a proper shower. Also quite noisy until ~11pm as above the bar, but if you want quiet, don't book a room in a small pub, as you are going to hear the bar.

Good quality bacon and sausages, you can tell were from local produce, didn't have to ask. Breakfast was good, only issue would be that the bread wasn't the best quality used for toast. We had a double room albeit quite small but the added little extras were a great addition. I loved the bathroom, quite roomy and relaxing.

Our room was a tiny bit on the small side this did not detract from our overall stay, we would stay here again

Friendly atmosphere

Squeaky floor in bathroom. But wouldn't stop me from staying again. Everyone would hear downstairs.

What an amazing charming B& B. Hosts were very friendly on arrival, no waiting around, showed us where everything was. Emm even came and had a little chat we me at night time, which I thoughtwas a very nice gesture, lovely evening meal from their restaurant, & breakfast. Brilliant evening entertainment with Jack Clarke. If I had one complaint, people constantly talking when he was trying to perform, but that is not a reflection on the B & B. The guy just carried on, well done you. We did eventually just go to the seating area on the 1st floor and listen to him. We will definitely book this B & B again in the near future. Nothing about the place would I change. Utterly charming

The Crown was very friendly and a great place to stay, the evening menu was very good and served at in a relaxed atmosphere.
