The listing description is not accurate. I requested early checking (2 hours early BEFORE booking) - day of checkin (we were already traveling) I got a call that the owner would be cleaning still because an issue with the previous guests. I said it was fine, I still needed access to the main room, he could clean while we were there setting up. He agreed. Property issues: Broken tiles (to the point of tripping) covered by a large rug in the main area. Hole in an upstairs bedroom floor covered by another rug. Bedrooms had dirty sheets, beds were not made. His reason was because we were already there (but we had already agreed) he doesn’t use a company- does it himself but charges cleaning fees.Owner said he had to buy sheets and of all the beds listed- he brought 3 sheets. There were no towels and no trash bags. He then brought 8 towels for a place that sleeps 25. He said he was coming back to clean the pool- he did not come back to clean it. Listing says it comes with round tables that seat 5, this is not accurate. He said it was the tables throughout the house upstairs that were 2-people tables. The tub in the master bedroom was dirty but also didn’t hold water. Master shower only one side worked. Stains on the couches. Balconies can’t be used for photos because trees are overgrown on top of the balcony more than half way. The water access area was overgrown and full of mildew- we had a guest fall and get injured. Owner refused to do any partial refund & called names.

Beautiful big house with all the amenities to provide an absolutely relaxing getaway from reality

Driving into the house the place didn’t look anything like the photos on vrbo. The front steps were dilapidated. The front door wasn’t securely connected. Entering the code only opened up new disappointments. The house AC was not turned on and very hot although I was told previous house guests just left hours before. The first room was the kitchen. Looking at the refrigerator the handle was broken and laying half on the ground for the freezer. Opening the door to the fridge, the light inside did not work. That was only the beginning, half of the lights didn’t work in the house. Not because the light switches but because the light bulbs were burned out. One light above the refrigerator wasn’t even installed and another ceiling can light had an outdoor flood light that didn’t even fit, it was Strobing like it was a night club. Going through the house even more disappointment set in. Light switches didn’t work, lights didn’t work. The upstairs hallway had three lights. Only one of the three even worked. After fining the AC controls we turned them one. The bathrooms had mold in the bathtubs, caulking around the tubs was missing and looked terrible. The dining room had mold on the walls and cracks in the walls. The pool area was covered with leaves, leaves floating in the pool and leaves on the bottom of the pool. I called the host detek to ask about these problems. He started screaming at me, called me a fagoot, and said he was coming to kick my ass!! We left and filed complaint

Would 100 percent book again. Was an amazing stay and the host was very communicative. Can’t speak highly enough of the property

So this property sadly wasn’t close to what they said it would be according the pictures. This is not in the best of neighborhoods. The experience that sticks out the most is that I rented this for my wedding. The home was very hard to ever get cooled down. But this was the very of smallest issues as we dove into this property. Lights not working, toilets without toilet seats, water leaking from ceilings when showers were ran upstairs, ants all over the kitchen counters, dirty ceiling fans, dirty everything. I had to call the owner straight away and have his cleaning folks come out. It helped some. Beer cans all over the backyard and around the pool. Showers not working in the master shower, surfaces were dirty, like doors, door handles, and bathrooms. Dirty clothes were left in the dryer. Honestly though we made it work the best we could. I am so disappointed though that this old beautiful home has been so neglected. I will say the property manager is very nice. Now we come to the part of the review I hope people pay attention to. This is Florida and we get heavy rain. Having brick steps proved to not be good on this house in this case. The night before my wedding as it was raining, I stepped out to go to dinner, and needless to say when I slipped on the brick steps that really should have grip on them I SLIPPED! 3 broken vertebrae later and a bruised left lung it was icing on the cake for a house that needs desperate help. Watch your step if you decide to rent.
