Location in the wildness. The staff are gentle and polite, especially our guide Francisco who is knowledgeable, caring and will do anything for his customers. He goes out of his way to fulfill his duties.

Stayed at Jacamar Lodge Expedition for three days and two nights. The service from Iquitos to the lodge was good and efficient, with helpful staff and good sturdy boats on the river. The lodge had a large sociable main dining room with a bar and all the rooms are protected with fly screen to stop the mosquitoes. The food was excellent, they don’t let you go hungry and vegetarians were catered for also. The best part of the trip has to be the guided tours and trips to see vairious things. The tour gides are so knowledgeable, helpful and spoke good English. Our gide was called Cristian and there didn’t seem to be anything about the amazon or its wildlife he didn’t know. Saw the pink river dolphin, swam in the Amazon, fished for piranha, spotted many birds monkeys and sloths and did jungle treks by day and night to see prehistoric birds, tree frogs, spiders, insects and more.
Fantastic experience overall!!

Got to the agency on Tuesday and had been contacted prior to that was no where in those conversations informed that they only take Visa. Get there with my capital one Mastercard cards, which were accepted even in the Amazon's but not by them. So trying to figure out and call my bank to transfer between my savings and account, as the internet and service are bad, the guy Danny keeps pushing for us to stay one night in iquitos and go to lodge the next day. We decide ok. We'r text him later that night to confirm timing for pick up and he kept telling us he'll let's us know, never did. Called and text him the next morning and he text saying he cancelled my reservation. I said no worries and made another one. He then told me he had no rooms available. Mind you I made the reservation on hotels.com and it showed things available. He told us the OWNER of the large didn't want to rent us a lodge and that they had a family that he said yes to and couldn't say no to. Called hotels they called him and even he couldn't give them a reason as to why he couldn't rent a room that showed available out of 4. Hotel canceled my reservation so I wouldn't get charged as he wouldn't rent the lodge to me and my friends. Being two girls 30 and under from the us in a country we don't know this was the worst experience ever and the ejust place to deal with. The guy Danny was a horrible human being with crappy service and absolutely no hospitality. I wouldn't recommend this recommend this place to anyone

I had a really great time at this lodge. There is a guide on-site at all times who, for an extra fee, takes you out on jungle tours, fishing and other types of adventures. It is worth mentioning, however, that this is not a luxurious environment. It felt like much more of a camping trip (which was fine because I love camping) than like staying in a hotel. There was also no hot water. Food was on par with the rest of my trip in Peru, and the people were very nice. It takes about 2.5hrs to get to the lodge from Iquitos, requiring two boats and a short walk. If you're a bit tough, then you will enjoy this place.

A perfect, rustic base for exploring the amazing Amazonian jungle. We had an incredibly knowledgeable guide, and the food was very good, too. Just don't expect anything more than camping-like conditions, with spartan rooms, mosquito netting and limited electricity.

When you arrive your group is assigned a guide that will take you on the various excursions you choose to do (daily excursions were an extra per person per day cost on top of the lodge cost). Our guide Junior was amazing; he spoke excellent english and had so much knowledge to share about everything we did. It was so much fun to listen to his stories and personal experiences. The other staff at the lodge, as well as at the office in Iquitos, are also very friendly and made the whole trip easy and tons of fun. The food that was served for each meal was absolutely delicious!
Don't expect a modern big-city hotel accommodation. Expect camping, and be amazed at how wonderful everything is on top of that (like having a nice room with walls and roof to return to in the rain!). You will almost certainly get to meet many other travelers while there and hear lots of interesting stories!
