I didn’t expect a luxury hotel, I knew it would be something basic. Bed was comfortable, we appreciated that someone waited for us to check in 10.20pm. But we were woken up by the people emptying bins outside on the street on the first morning. Windows are old so you can hear any single noise. Cleaning could have been better.

no handrail on right side of stairs and as I have limited use of left hand found it difficult going up without help. no plug in sink when we arrived also kettle inside was dirty.

This was a very well located budget option. The staff were all very friendly and the room was comfortable and quiet. Nice cocktail bar/ burrito place called Daisy just around the corner.

The first time I have stayed at the Glenwood and I was impressed it was being refurbished but my room had been completed. It was room only but the owner told me there was two cafes near by which was handy to know. Pretty central to old town and the beach but also handy for Dreamland if your seeing any concerts. If your not seeing any concerts then its far away so you don't hear any noise. The host was very nice he let me watch the women's world cup in his front room before I checked out

When you pay such a low price, you have to be realistic about expectations. We wanted something that was clean and would give us a good nights sleep. The property achieved that so no real issues. We were attending a concert, we actually live pretty close but fancied a night where we could both have a drink and not worry about driving. Other hotels were £180-200 and up. As this was a discretionary booking, for the price, no issues.

My first impression was good, the hotel is kept clean and the staff is very kind and welcoming. I was travelling alone and appreciate a lovely chat which they made time for. I rented a car to drive and there is plenty of free parking in the street. The hotel isn't a new building and has a nice, authentic smell. The state of my room was all right for a few nights, with a closer look some things could use a little attention. In the room the tv didn't work properly and the wifi was on and off. The neighborhood is lovely, it's a short walk to Margate high street, a lot of lovely cafes, charity shops and the beach. I had a lovely few days (wish there was more sun😊) and would possibly come again.

This was a budget hotel that I have decided to stay with research prior. I went for two nights in Margate but ended up staying one night because of the poor conditions of the hotel. The bed was very old that I could feel the springs on my back. The smell of dampness was terrible plus the room was quite dirty. I would not recommend this hotel, specially the room 16 that I stayed.

Very nice welcome. The room was at the back and it was ok. Just to hot - no air condition, not able to open the window. In the toilet can feel smell of dump, window very dirty and horrible view on the walls of other buildings, roof and sewage pipes. Otherwise good and quiet. Parking on the street at the front of hotel.

The staff were friendly and helfpul; the tech was less good - tv didn't work, the wifi didn't connect and the electricity supply struggled.

Very good value for the price. Clean and tidy, comfortable bed. Not luxury but a great budget option.

The staff were really nice and let us leave our bags in the staff office before we checked in. The hotel's shared spaces seemed clean, but we didn't really use them. However, the room was unclean - with marks on the sheets and on the carpet, there was an empty crisp packet under the bed and other rubbish that hadn't been cleared. There was a tiny window, which meant the room was hot. The door was very flimsy and I didn't feel particularly safe in there. The walls are very thin and you can hear very clearly the rooms around you and people walking through the hall. The bathroom also didn't feel particularly clean and we were only given one towel even though we specified there were two people staying. It would've been fine if it had been cheaper, but it wasn't worth the money we paid. I'm not usually someone to complain in a review, but it fell below most of our expectations for hotel rooms.

It was fine but overpriced for what it was - £100 for a very basic family room. No bath plug, 1 hanger in the wardrobe. No WiFi in bedrooms. Everything a bit tired. But the staff were nice and friendly.

I wish I could be more positive however this place was very poor and I do not understand how it achieves a 3-star rating. The facilities are barely functional, only one of three windows working for ventilation, no lamp or lightswitch by the bed, and a chest of drawers which look like it was purchased in a second hand store, only to open it and find mould where a drink had been spilled and never cleaned. Very poor, cautiou advised.

Really great welcome on arrival

Our room was checked in before we even arrived. Meaning we had to use a different room. The room was very hot and uncomfortable to sleep in due to having no ac or fans. The bathroom was not kept to a good standard. Missing fitments for lights. No toiletries like shampoo or shower gel, we had to source our own. We didn’t have any house keeping. We had to use the same towels, and bed sheets each day.

We travelled down late and the reception is not 24hour through the week but they stayed open so we could check in after 11pm. Half the price of the Premier-Inn which didn't offer anything more than The Glenwood.

The hotel was fine for a night away. But it was a ok hotel in a shanty town part of Margate. That's not the hotels fault. It looks like the area would have been the place to be many years ago.

Lady very helpful and friendly at Reception.Hotel was a good walk from centre not easy to find so book a cab. I booked a single room and unfortunately due to shocking weather spent more time in my room than usual so a tv would of been good yep no tv.Room was clean and comfortable not much else to say

Good value, and decent rooms. Shower didn't really spray water - though friends said those in their rooms were fine. Shampoo or showergel in bathroom would be nice - I didn't enjoy washing my hair with soap. And curtains let in daylight so bright that I could read a book without switching on the lamp.

A no thrills hotel with a few rough edges and friendly, helpful staff. Won’t be for everyone, but at the very reasonable price I paid, there really is nothing to grumble about. Would happily stay there again.
