The fishes

Had roaches , don’t give refunds or change rooms. Pool was out and elevators was in work. No email about that. Not worth the pay. Had bad experience. Bad way to spend a 30 birthday with the family.

The location is great, rooms are a good size, staff are lovely. Onsite self parking is convenient.

The rooms are individually owned and quality varies widely. We arrived after a long flight to a room with tattered curtains, badly stained carpets, a musty smell, and damaged floors. I was not comfortable to even take my shoes off. When I queried the condition of the room the person at the front desk was very helpful and we were able to move to a room in somewhat better condition but we never should have been sent to a room in such bad condition on our arrival. The first room was so uncomfortable, it started our trip on such a bad note. We have stayed at privately owned units in the building on previous trips and we love staying in this building, so this experience was disappointing.

Rooms were VERY worn and dated. Soiled carpet and furniture, damaged cabinet finishes, etc. We’d rented two suites and neither looked as nice as the photos online.

We loved the space and how it was a self contained apartment. The location was great, only about 400m from the beach so it wasn’t overly noisy. The front desk workers were truly lovely and assisted us where necessary. The pool was warm and the two spas were also nice (maybe a bit too hot) my daughter also loved the kids playground. The coy fish were the largest I think I’ve ever seen too. The pink line trolley is also a very quick walk down the road which was very convenient.

Even though the property states the room is serviced every 3 days, twice we had to chase them up on day 4 to be cleaned. Once they didn’t make one of the beds. The curtains should be replaced as they are splotchy and don’t really keep the light out so you wake up with the sun. One bed was comfortable but the other was very squeaky and uncomfortable and the pillows were extremely thin. Even though it states Ocean View, we had tower 1 right in the middle of our view so it kind of ruined the whole ocean view idea and was more partial view. First few days we couldn’t use our balcony as someone close to our room was smoking weed constantly which was unpleasant, especially with a 4 year old. Overall, I would stay here again since these things were not deal breakers. The staff were beautiful and so helpful. Thank you for having us.
