Beautiful hotel and in a great location.

The only restaurant option was exceptionally expensive and the buffet breakfast was overpriced.

The room is neat, clean and tidy. There is a air humidifier in the room which I do not see other hotels providing given the dry winter season.

The parking is expensive, and it is not available on site. Hotel do not have parking spaces, which is disppointing for me. It would be good to provide some discounted parking rates for hotel guest in a parking near by will definitely help.

Outstanding location. Really, the best possible in Kyoto - easy walk to Gion District sights, 5 minute walk across the bridge to Pontocho, 15 minutes to Nishiki Market, and literally a block to train (Nara, Osaka) busses and subway (all of Kyoto). Lobby is beautiful, staff friendly, professional, and fluent in English. Free 24/7; coffee machine (latte, cappuccino) in lobby is a wonderful idea and greatly appreciated at a jet-lagged 3:00 am!

The rooms are small, but that’s Japan.

مكان الفندق هادئ قرب محطة الباصات ومحطة المترو وقريب من شارع التسوق الرئيسي 10 دقايق مشي على الأقدام ويبعد عن محطة قطارات كيوتو 15 دقيقة تقريباً. الغرفة نظيفة والسرير مريح ومتوفر مكينة قهوة وغلاية وأعجبني مكان الجلوس في الغرفة كان طابع ياباني تقليدي. الموظفين جداً لطيفين ومتعاونين مكان الفطور جميل جداً والفطور متنوع. عندما أخبرنا الموظف أننا لا نأكل الخنزير قام في اليوم ثاني بوضع لحم الخنزير في إناء آخر بعيد عن البطاطا

حجم غرفة من نوع Superior Twin Room تكفي لشخصين فقط مع شنطهم اذا كنتوا عائلة مع أطفال أنصح باختيار غرفة أكبر.

Beautiful property, gorgeous front foyer and garden area

Close to transit and attractions nearby. Hotel room was well situated and quiet in the evenings.

Near main road so in late afternoons or early evenings you will hear some noise if you room is on that side. Never had an issue at bedtime though.

Location away from Kyoto station.

Air conditioning in the room was directed right on the bed, which is annoying. Staff managed however to promptly fix it.

It's a beautifully aesthetic hotel to stay in. The beds were super comfy, and the showers were great. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful as well.

Location isn't the most central, but public transport was right at your doorstep so not really an issue.

The location of the property is excellent - a few minutes walk to Sanjio station (right outside the hotel), a 10-15min walk to Gion and right across the river is the main shopping district. You can easily get around either by the subway or local buses. Highly recommend this hotel for the convenience of its location and the room is huge compared to many Japan hotels.

It's a pity to call this a Banyan Tree Group hotel. 1. Lack of cleanliness in the room: dust everywhere, causing my allergies to act up. Not a problem you'd expect at a luxury hotel. 2. Service is way below expectations, compared to the other Banyan locations. Staff seems under trained, you're expected to carry your own luggage up to your room, etc... 3. Breakfast: the most disappointing hotel breakfast I've ever had. Over priced for an extremely small selection I'm a huge fan of the Banyan Tree in Bangkok so I was super excited to stay after finding out they opened in Kyoto. Unfortunately, this was rather disappointing... You can find other options with a higher level of customer service, better breakfasts, and a bathtub in the room for that price point. Nothing really stood out for me to want to stay here again.
