We loved our stay at Mamasan! The staff were AMAZING, especially Coco and Jamie. Everyone was so nice and helpful, and the small number of rooms made it very personal. The room was adorable and super comfortable - great AC, hot water in the shower, free filtered water daily. The price was fantastic for the area. The restaurant is amazing too, the best prices on cocktails that we found at the cute upstairs bar, and everything was so delicious.

There is unfortunately a club right next-door that plays loud music fairly late into the night on every night but Wednesday. I think the downstairs rooms might be more protected from the sound. But we brought earplugs so it really didn't bother us at all. The hotel is not on the beach so you do have to pay to get into a beach club if you want to go to the beach, but this is true for a lot of the hotels that are on the beach anyway!

Staff was super helpful

The cabins are nice but in the COMPLETELY WRONG LOCATION.

DO NOT STAY at this hotel!! They are falsely depicting a picture of relax and peacefulness while in reality it’s in the middle of the party zone! There is a club called Toxic right next to your wooden cabin that WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SLEEP! We had to check out early due to horrible conditions of our stay and the hotel didn’t even agree to refund us for the nights we cancelled. They are greedy and unprofessional!! I report below the full story of our awful stay: “We checked into this hotel on Sunday 7th January to celebrate our engagement. When we checked in the room was very good but we noticed it was situated next to a night club. This is completely contrary to all marketing and advertising of this room which was sold as a peaceful hotel. We contacted the hotel at 8pm when the club was blasting out hugely loud music and were provided with earplugs and an apology for the situation. We have a full WhatsApp thread of conversation about this. The hotel employee apologised and empathised with our situation and said we could speak with the manager in the morning. From 8pm to 2am we could not sleep even if we had earplugs because the music was so loud. It made our stay extremely uncomfortable and the hotel didn’t even manage to provide the basic service a hotel should provide, which is a place for sleep. The following morning, when the manager, Maria, arrived she was also very apologetic and we asked to move room, which she could not due to being full, and so we asked to check out early and be fully refunded. Maria confirmed we have to go through booking to confirm the cancellation and refund. When booking contacted the hotel for a refund, they refused to issue it. They are a greedy, unfair and unprofessional business, DO NOT STAY there!!”

the hotel and room didn't meet my expectations. Nevertheless, the location is very good in zona hoteleira, 5 minutes away from the beach side, the hotel is likable surrounded by the jungle and the staff was quite lovable and helpful to our requests.

the hotel doesn't offer small important things. The rooms illumination is not enough, there is no body mirror and the provided water (supposed to drink) made us sick with diarrhea. I do not recommend you to drink any water in this hotel unless from the bottle. The hotel guarantees that the water is clean, but it makes us instantly sick after drinking it. The hotel uses a WhatsApp group to provide some services, like room cleaning, but it doesn't work at all.

Everything was amazing!

The room is incredibly amazing with nice view on the jungle. The staff is so friendly and helpful with lots of recommendations and tips to explore the neighborhood. It’s 5 mins to the beach and all nice beach clubs, coffee shops restaurants etc. Definitely recommend if you want to fully enjoy your trip in Tulum !

Great experience! It exceeded my expectations, the staff was amazing! Specially Angel, he was always taking care of my needs. As a female traveling on my own, they made me feel really safe. Would 100% recommend, and I’ll be happy to be back anytime soon!

The location was amazing, nestled in the jungle it felt secluded but you could hear some music of the districts nightlife. Our view was amazing, we originally booked in a bamboo suite, and when asked if one of the upper jungle rooms was available they went above and beyond in assisting us switching rooms so we could have an amazing view of the stars and the sunset from the above the jungle top. The dinner we had was amazing, and the staff working there were so kind and helpful. Would 100% recommend for my family and friends to stay there

We LOVED our room! It was so fun to hang out in the dome. The view of the jungle top + the sky was amazing. It was also quiet even though there is a club next door. So central to walk to all the hot spots.

Our only challenge was finding our route to the beach....even though you are across the street there is little to no public access nearby. You can definitely pay your way onto the beach. This is a Tulum issue, not a hotel issue 😘 They made great suggestions of where to go.

The property was very romantic and felt secluded from the party atmosphere it surrounds they done a great job in making it feel like a real jungle cabin experience 

The only thing I didn’t like about the property was there was no beach attached to the property but given how amazing everything was and how amazing the staff were I didn’t feel it was needed

excellent customer service, the staff really makes you feel comfortable, they are friendly, we will definitely be back and a Michellin star for the chef, Juan Carlos and Jimmy have our hearts.

Was trapped inside our room, literally could not get out, the front desk wouldn't answer, yelled, screamed, deadbolt was broken and we were trapped in our room. They never picked up the phone and when we finally mcgivered our way out, all of our stuff was then stuck. No access to keys, car, passports or anything.

Mamasan Tulum was a divine experience. From the first moment we’ve met Sofi at reception she was warm and welcoming She gave us many good advices in regards of booking activities around tulum Then we’ve met Carlos he was welcoming and showed us to this beautiful bungalow with stunning view. It was clean and peaceful surrounded by nature. Mamasan is located in the heart of Tulum Everything you want is nearby dance club the beach the famous Taboo across the road The vibe in Mamasan is amazing, many thanks to Carlos!! He is full of love and care He made sure that we will be 100% happy I would rate this place with 10 stars !! My best friend and I had such a FABULOUS stay at Mamasan! All of the staff were amazing and so accommodating and the location was in walking distance to the ocean. The hotel was so beautiful and clean. It was like being in a treehouse storybook. The rooms were so intricate and unique and had everything we needed for our week long trip. The housekeepers would come each afternoon and clean our room and bring us fresh towels and anything else we needed. Carlos, the hotel owner was the best! He would check in with us all the time and made us feel so special. On the last night, Carlos even upgraded our room to one of the treehouse bungalows which had a giant bathtub in it and amazing views of the landscape. We felt so safe the whole time we were there and the hotel even had a security guard on staff who was there during the overnight hours. Not only that, but there is a restaurant on site and the Chef always cooked the best meals!
