We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Glenview Lodge very much. The house was very comfortable and clean and had everything we needed. It is in a calm and quiet area, with an amazing view. Just what we needed to come back to after each busy day exploring this beautiful area. During our stay we visited Cork, Kinsale and Killarney National Park. There are a few shops in Broadford and even a take away open late, which we took advantage of on one of the days we returned quite late. The hosts Monica and Sean were so nice and made us feel very welcome. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and we will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to find ourselves in the area in the future.

The house was perfect for our family of 5. We enjoyed day trips to all over the southwest of Ireland and had a lovely place to rest and relax in the evening.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful and history-filled home. We won’t soon forget the landscape, the home’s unique background, or the Irish Coffee :) Thank you for the great experience and your hospitality!

The youngest 27 and oldest 68, four of us all together thoroughly enjoy the accommodation. 30 acres worth of peaceful, relaxing walks. A wood burning fireplace heats up the early morning dew. House location suited our needs for visiting any south west town easily. You will want for more time.

It was so very peaceful and was a welcoming place after a long day of sightseeing. We had a fire every night and ate wonderful meals in the large, modern kitchen. We each had our own bathroom as well as one downstairs. We used the washer and dryer. Appreciated the coffee maker as well as the electric tea kettle and French press. The lproperty was so beautiful and quiet.

Glenview Lodge is a lovely property -and what a setting! Surrounded by trees and nothing but green fields beyond, the sense of tranquility was wonderful. Great for families with small children and adults (like us)escaping the city noise. The Lodge also offers good access to local attractions and some of the 'Big Sights' like Killarney and Dingle are all within reach for a grand day out. Our hosts were always contactable but there were absolutely no issues on out trip. Thank you Sean and Monica.

Monica and Sean were delightful, nothing too much trouble, they even supplied a welcome pack, most grateful, they checked on us midweek to see if everything was OK and if we needed anything, house was large, well equipped and surrounded by grass and woodland, so peaceful, would fully recommend this property and owners to people.

Peaceful and Charming
We were so excited to stay here, and it was even better than the pictures or description. It was a wonderful home base, but we also spent a day there, and it was one of our favorite days of our entire trip. The home is warm and charming, filled with history and little touches, like freshly picked flowers from the property and books on all things Irish, plus a detailed folder with info on the use of the property, etc. The property was so lovely....picturesque really. We took numerous photos of the property and our family on the property. The photos came out as if they were professionally taken. It's easy to take good photos when the landscape is so beautiful. My daughter said she felt like she couldn't take it all in because of how awesome it was. Sean spent time talking with us and telling us the most interesting stories, including Irish history. We loved hearing him talk, not just for his wonderful accent, but the knowledge and passion with which he spoke, made his stories captivating. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to visit again.

Home from home
Location is remote, but we knew that and it didn't bother us at all. The house is in the middle of farmland, but while you're in the garden, you wouldn't really notice. The house has gardens around it that are well attended to. We found a fairy trail and our toddler loved saying hello to the fairies every day and saying goodbye on check out. There are numerous binders with local information are available for those interested.
There is a leisure centre less than 15min away WLSC which we used every day of our stay. We generally book homestays as we have 2 small children. I always bring kitchenware from home because the knives are usually blunt, or there's no chopping boards, but there was no need here. Anything you could have wanted was available right down to washing powder. Lack of wifi wasn't much of an issue for us. It is stronger upstairs than downstairs. There are some DVDs and board games available and a games room in the other building. Overall we had a really lovely family break.

Glenview Lodge was LOVELY!
Everything about our stay here was picture perfect. Monica and Sean were delightful hosts! Monica had left freshly baked soda bread for us and butter curls, milk and yogurt in the fridge and brought us a freshly made apple tart one evening - a true delight after a long day. The cottage itself was ideal. Glenview is a great name as it has a picture perfect setting and even a sweet Fairy Path outside. The grounds are lovely and large with plenty of space for kids to run around and even some playground equipment. It is also a wonderful place for adults to set outside and enjoy the view and the air. The cottage itself has a great layout with an updated kitchen and all the dishes, glasses and cooking utensils you could need along with a coffee maker and a press. The upstairs has, 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and there is a half bath downstairs. There is even a washer in the pantry area and a dryer in one of the outside buildings that also houses a ping pong table and foosball table! The property has a rich history but all the modern touches you could want. It had all the things that make Ireland such a special place - great setting and hospitality!

lovely quiet escape
We stayed at Glenview Lodge for almost 2 weeks. We found the property to be perfect for a quiet getaway. It's up a secluded drive so we felt safe letting our kids run around the huge enclosed yard. They really enjoyed the swing set. The bedroom set up was comfortable for our family of five and the beds were comfy with nice bedding.
The kitchen and living areas were good, though we missed having some basics available in the kitchen--salt/pepper, some olive oil. But we loved that Monica was kind enough to welcome us with a fresh baked loaf of bread. The living room has a nice fireplace to help warm up the downstairs when it's cold. Would have been nice to have a bigger rug in there to keep it a bit warmer--but there were blankets for us to cuddle up with at night. The place is about an hour's drive from many sights. Cork & Blarney Castle, an hour from Limerick and a bit over an hour to ring of kerry and wild atlantic way. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and there are several local walks to do. We also loved the Saturday breakfast at Smithfield castle, just down the road. It sounds fancy but it was actually really accessible and great to take our kids to. We did most of our grocery shopping in New Castle west a slight larger town about 15 min drive. There's a wonderful health food store there called Sonas, plus some larger chain stores. And a great playground for the kids. It's definitely a more secluded area so if you want to be closer to a larger town, look elsewhere. We were okay doing 12 nites there, but we spent 2 of those nights closer to the ring of kerry and that felt about right for us.
We also did Monica's homemade Irish stew which was fabulous. She baked more fresh bread for us to go with it along with a nice basket of scones for dessert. The only downside for me with that there is some mold growing in the master shower, probably nothing a bit of bleach or recaulking couldn't fix right up. Overall this was a lovely home in beautiful Ireland and we highly recommend it.

Best Part of our stay in Ireland!
It was so wonderful staying at Glenview Lodge. It was REAL IRELAND. The nearby local town, Foley's Pub and discussions with Sean, food from Monica and staying in her childhood farm house all set in the most beautiful country side I've ever seen was the most authentic part of our journey through Ireland ( 10 days we spent 5 at Glenview). It was a little off the beaten path but well worth it! The house was clean, with modern amenities and filled with warmest energy. I highly recommend you take advantage of the extras that Sean and Monica provide. My husband and I and daughters age 18 and 20 y give it 10 stars!!!! Thank you.

Our family of five spent a wonderful four nights at Glenview Lodge. It was our first visit to Ireland, and Seán and Monica made it memorable and superb. The property dates back all the way to the 1680’s but the farmhouse (built in 1865, I believe) is modernized and comfortable inside. It was perfect for our family: a double bedroom for my husband and me, two twin beds in a second bedroom for our adult sons, and a single twin bedroom for our teenaged daughter. Plus, the two and a half baths and full kitchen – and the ping pong table and guitar – were fantastic amenities that we enjoyed as well. The location is excellent. We took day trips to Cork, Limerick, and the Cliffs of Moher. Seán and Monica have not only decorated the farmhouse warmly, but they provide TONS of information about Irish history and local trips available to take. They were very welcoming and made themselves available to answer our questions. The best part of our trip was spending an evening with Monica and Seán as we opted for the “Irish Experience” package. I highly recommend any time that you can enjoy their company and stories, as they are lovely people who know the history and the surrounding area so well! Monica actually grew up at the Glenview Lodge as her childhood home... That evening will be a happy memory for our family for many, many years to come. They are a beautiful couple who compliment one another so well: Seán is the history and details person (he also makes an amazing Irish Coffee!) and Monica is also warm and friendly, and a superb cook. I don’t think I will ever find an Irish Stew in the States that comes close to hers. We’ve been spoiled forever… :)We highly recommend Glenview Lodge and truly hope that our family can return there one day. Monica and Seán – we wish you all the best and thank you for your hospitality, and sharing your lovely home with “strangers” who leave as friends.

Beautiful farmhouse with stunning views and gracious hosts.
We loved our stay at Glenview Lodge! The property was perfect and we enjoyed exploring the farm. Monica and Sean were welcoming and provided lots of information on the history of the house and suggested day trips and local activities. Sean even found a local children’s event for our son! We hiked one of the trails recommended by Sean which turned out to be one of the best parts of our trip. The views were amazing and everyone in our group from 5 to 67 years old enjoyed it. We opted for the Irish Experience breakfast and traditional Irish stew prepared by Monica. Both were delicious! I will be recommending Glenview Lodge to friends traveling to Ireland next spring.

A true Ireland experience
Our family of 5 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Glenview Lodge. Sean & Monica are wonderful hosts! The views and the area are spectacular! Perfect place to relax & go on long or short hikes. We especially liked discovering various fairy villages hidden along the trail. Limerick, Adare, cork, Ring of Kerry (to name a few) are all within driving distance. This is the place to be to really "see" & experience Ireland!

Beautiful country location, great Irish experience
My friend Sue and I really enjoyed staying in this old lodge with lots of family memories and filled with books about Irish history. I recommend this stay especially for people with an interest in history. Monica and Sean were very welcoming hosts. We accepted the additional package which provided a lovely breakfast basket with Monica's delicious bread and a talk about history and an Irish coffee making demonstration by Sean. We were really impressed by his balanced discussion of the hardest times in Irish history. And the Irish coffee was the best! The countryside is wonderful and within striking distance of many points of interest.
Thank you, Monica & Sean - from Susan and Julia

Quiet,relaxing,cosy holiday Feb 23-March 2 2018
Monica and Sean made us very welcome and it was lovely to stay in their farmhouse. We were warm and cosy and the wood burner was welcome after our days out. :)
The weather was bitterly cold whilst we were there but we had wall to wall sunshine and were able to see many beautiful sights including the Dingle peninsula, the Cliffs of Moher ,the Ring of Kerry and Cork. All fabulous.
The day we left Monica and Sean came to say goodbye and Monica gave us some of her DELICIOUS homemade chocolates ! To die for !
Thank you to them both and we would certainly recommend Glenview Lodge to anyone who would like peace, quiet, and generous hospitality :)

Quaint and Cozy Farmhouse in the beautiful Irish Countryside
This beautiful farmhouse is located in the most beautiful countryside and had amazing views. Sean and Monica were the sweetest! Monica had homemade Irish Soda Bread waiting for us and it was delicious! They were very helpful and accommodating to anything we needed. Their home is beautiful, comfortable and very clean. Upon our departure Monica gave us a box of her wonderful homemade chocolates. They were incredible. We would recommend anyone to stay here. We look forward to our next trip to Ireland.

I cannot recommend Glenview Lodge enough! The lodge itself is charming, comfortable and perfect for a family. The location is perfect for day trips to Cork, Limerick, Blarney and Killarney. Sean and Monica are wonderful hosts and accommodated all of our requests and were always available to answer any of our questions. A trip to Ireland would not be complete without a stay here!

Beautiful, calm, quiet spot.
Glenview is a very comfortable, spotlessly clean house, with wonderful original furnishings and features.
Monica and Seàn are the most delightful hosts, with a wealth of information about the area.
The house had everything one could need and it felt like staying in a real home. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather and were able to sit outside with the chairs and table provided. It is a good location for visiting the West and South West coasts for day trips and the local walks are lovely. The Neenans have provided a wealth of useful tourist information. All in all a delightful experience and highly recommended.

Exactly what the pictures and description said. It was quiet and we had everything we needed.
We flew into Ireland that day so this was our place to learn to drive and recuperate from jet lag. Very quiet and nestled in the hills with farms all around. Monica and Sean answered all my questions about our first plans of sight seeing. Kitchen was well equipped and everything was clean. Monica gave us a box of home made chocolates when we left and they were delicious! Thank you!

Lovely Place To Stay
Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. We were a family of four (2 adults/2 - 25+ kids) and we totally enjoyed the farm house. It was in a great location for day trips around Ireland. Monica and Sean were wonderful hosts. The countryside around the house was breathtaking. Highly recommend!!!

Great place to stay
Great place in country but easily accessible to sites in area. The house was quaint but fully renovated and equipped with everything you could need and very comfortable for our party of 4 adults. The setting was stunning with wonderful views over the rolling hills. And one of the highlights was meeting Sean and Monica, our hosts. When we arrived we were having car trouble and Sean was able to get a mechanic there right away and have our car fixed and ready to go without loosing out on our time in Ireland. And when we arrived we had a wonderful loaf of fresh baked bread waiting for us from Monica. They gave us great tips about things to do and places to see and were very helpful. I would highly recommend Glenview Lodge.

Quiet peaceful home
I would recommend this beautiful quiet home to everyone who is wanting to see the beautiful countryside. It was a perfect location for those 1 day trips to scenic Ireland. Sean and Monica were wonderful hosts. The food was great and all the directives they gave were very helpful. So if you are looking for a quiet beautiful country side this is the place to stay.

We could not have wished for better on our first trip to Ireland, and were so pleased with the accommodations. Sean and Monica were delightful hosts and have thought of everything to help you settle in. They even provided literature of the surrounding areas that might be of interest, and a list of restaurants that were close by. We ate at the Mallard Restaurant in New Castle West twice; it was very nice and we highly recommend it. We traveled to many suggested areas and it was nice to come back in the evening to sit outside and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. To sit outside until after 10pm and have it still be light was an absolute joy. Thank Sean and Monica for helping to make this trip memorable!

We stayed for a week with our 3 kids. House was very clean and just right for the 5 of us. The property is gorgeous and it is the most peaceful place. Sean and Monica were so lovely and made us feel very welcome in their beautiful farmhouse. They also add many special touches that make you feel so well taken care of. Would absolutely recommend this property. It is a perfect spot to stay to explore the West and South of Ireland. We have many happy memories from our time there.

My husband, parents, and I had a fantastic one week stay at Glenview Lodge. Sean and Monica were delightful and always willing to help out, telling us local sights of interest, day trips, and hiking trails. The cottage itself is lovely, historical, and cozy with a modern kitchen. The property is situated on a hill surrounded by trees and beautiful views. We felt like we were able to experience true Ireland away from the touristy places. We definitely recommend the Irish experience package. We enjoyed the historical talk, the soda bread, chocolates, Irish coffee, stew, and breakfast. We can't recommend Glenview Lodge enough!

It was everything we had hoped for. A beautiful home in a lovely stetting. Upon arrival we couldn't wait to walk about to take in the beautiful surroundings. The views down the drive were just as we had imagined Ireland to be.
The home was a perfect fit for our family of five (2 sons,15 & 16 and our daughter 18) We prepared and ate breakfast and dinner each day in the home leaving lunch for traveling about.
Easy day trips took us to places like Cork, Kinsale, The RIng of Kerry and so much more.
We recommend this beautiful home for anyone desiring a beautiful home and setting while wanting to travel about in Ireland.

Glenview Lodge is a very cultivated and with a lot of love to the detail restored former farmhouse. With hosts that will get you close to the Irish culture and local history in a miraculous way. The "Irish Experiences" package is to be recommended anyway, just because of the Irish coffee whose preparation landlord Seán accompanies with marvellous stories. By him and his wife Monica you find out many small things which give you the feeling to really belong there, even as an inexperienced Ireland vacationer. The equipment of the house is excellent and fascinates also by matters for everyday use as by unusual items. Thus the inclined house musician finds a guitar! Heating and turf fire make you able to resist almost wintry cold; a fact which is not to be underestimated after a long day of sightseeing and walks. It really feels like home, safe and secure. We have liked it, anyway. We have already spent two of our holidays there. And that was not for the last time!
