About this house rental
This beautiful restored Casona was the residence of the first town doctor. The location is excellent being very close to shops and restaurants. Although it's close to the town square once you enter the front door the interior of the property is peaceful due to the 3 foot thick interior walls. The house was restored with the original floor plan and is furnished with custom-made furniture. We have all the modern conveniences and a live-in houseman on the property in private quarters at the extreme back corner of the gardens. Carlos has been in our employ for over 17 years and is able to help you enjoy your visit to Valladolid. The gardens are high maintenance and he spends his days manicuring the tropical plants and maintaining the living quarters as needed. Maximum 6 persons.

This was such a wonderful stay! From the impeccable design, beautiful gardens, and historical relevance (this house belonged to the first town doctor), Casa Amore Carina was an amazing, one of a kind experience. We were all taken with the beauty, hospitality, and comfort of this stay.
A big thanks to Danielle, the host, who took care of all our needs and wants, and went above and beyond with daily recommendations. Also, thank you Carlos!

This residence was impressive. It was a traditional Spanish home with some modern amenities. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and close to the main square. It was an incredible stay.

This place was jaw dropping! The art, soaring ceilings, antique furniture, and most lush gorgeous yard and courtyard. You have to see it to believe it. We loved it SO much and wished we booked an additional night here. The host, Daniella, was so kind and gracious, giving good food recommendations and going out of her way to be helpful in every way. There is no A/C in the living room or dining room, but it’s worth being a bit warm to experience this incredible house and relax on the beauful patio area overlooking the potted plants, large trees, and ancient walls. Staying here was one of the top experiences of our trip across the Yucatan.

This home in Valladolid is unlike any home I've stayed at before. It feels like an old Spanish villa, or like a whole hotel just for us. The gardens are spectacularly maintained, and make it delightful to walk from the main entry-hall to the kitchen and rear wing of the property. The tall ceilings, beautiful art, and enormous kitchen made me want to never leave the VRBO, even though there is so much to do in and around Valladolid.

The property, both the structure and grounds, and beautiful and well-maintained. We had a wonderful stay (2 adults, 4 small children) and were very happy with the experience. The location was perfect as it was close to the main square. Check-in was easy as was communication.
We could walk to the majority of restaurants and sites we were interested in seeing in Valladolid. We were able to park right out front whenever we drove, but during busy times I could see parking being a bit of a challenge. The street cleared out during the evening each day though.
I would very much recommend this property.

Staying in this beautiful historical house was like a dream--every detail was beautiful and thoughtful. Danielle was amazing and welcomed us so warmly, with lots of wonderful suggestions for restaurants and sights. The garden is absolutely dreamy and the kitchen spectacular--I could have happily stayed inside for a week exploring the property's many secret corners. But great location too--easy to shop, eat and see the sights all around. The magical Cenote Zaci and Convento San Bernardino are both 10-15 minutes walk away through beautiful neighborhoods. We would (and hope to) absolutely stay again!

We are so happy that we booked this incredible property for our group. The pictures barely do it justice, it is truly stunning and so unique.
There was plenty of space for our group of 5 adults, and all the amenities we needed. A/C in the bedrooms made sleeping very comfortable and there are fans throughout the other spaces including in the outdoor seating area which was a perfect place to gather at the end of the day.
The kitchen is very well set up and has everything you could need. The hosts were very responsive and easy to get ahold of. Carlos was super helpful and friendly and keeps the house is immaculate shape. We cannot wait to come back!

Though every photo is accurate, none of them do justice to this incredible villa. It is mere blocks from the town center, but when you enter the door you step into another world. Absolute old world luxury. As for the hostess and caretaker, Danielle and Carlos could not be nicer. They clearly have a passion and a talent for their jobs. My next trip to the area will be planned around availability of this fabulous villa!

First, Valladolid is a lovely little city. We stayed only two days and wished we had added a day or two more. Second, Danielle (local host) is wonderful. She welcomed us with such hospitality and grace, not just in connection with the property but also with sightseeing tips and lots of other good advice. Third, my kids (two teenagers and a pre-teen) were blown away by this remarkable house, and could not stop talking about it. Setting aside that it is literally a block from the center of the city, it has a beautiful and mysterious air that is so unique and unlike anywhere else we have stayed. My only caveat is that the layout is unusual, in a way we didn't appreciate before arriving. From the front door, there is a large entry hall, followed by a cavernous dining room that is beautiful and enormous but far from the kitchen. That dining room leads to two very large bedrooms. To remain indoors, you'd need to walk through one bedroom to get to the second one, and from there to the main bathroom, although each bedroom also has a door to the outdoors. Separate from that space - i.e. walking down an outdoor path and around a corner, there is the second bathroom, and near that is the large kitchen, garden, and hammock area, and then upstairs is a second hammock area, plus a third bedroom and bath. All of this was fine with us - very unusual but a lot of fun - and the spaces are fascinating and very nicely appointed. Anyway, we loved it and would happily return.

The house and grounds are beautiful. The property has a very traditional feel. From the upper deck you can see the place next door and get a very good appreciation about the restoration work that was done. The right time of year this is an incredible place to stay. The view from the upper deck is amazing you can see a long way.
There are some unique features that you do not get from the listing. Only the bed rooms are air conditioned. The property is broken into two separate buildings with two bed rooms the dining room and siting room in one and the kitchen and third bedroom in the other with a breezeway in the middle.
Parking is interesting, early in the morning you can part directly in front of the door, but most of the rest of the time you have to park a ways away.

We had a lovely 5-night stay at Amora Karina (colonial mansion) in Valladolid. The property is very unique with large rooms, lovely courtyards, terraces and garden. It was very hot in Valladolid when we stayed and so the air conditioned bedrooms, and ceiling fans in other spaces were very welcome. The history of the building is very interesting and the property manager, Danielle, explained it all to us on arrival. Danielle was very helpful and responsive to any queries we had throughout our stay. She also helped to put us in touch with a lovely taxi driver, Mario, who took us between various sites (ruins and cenotes) over a few days and was very pleasant company. The grounds man, Carlos, was lovely, bringing us fresh mamey fruits that had fallen from the tree in the garden as well as explaining to us about some of the different plants. He has a small, separate accommodation on the site but he only stays there when there are no guests so you have the whole place to yourself. We’d definitely recommend staying here for your stay in Valladolid.

This is an exceptional property in the heart of Valladolid. It feels like stepping into a time machine, and at the time time is in the very city center and is perfectly comfortable. Danielle was so helpful and responsive, and saved the day by sending us an old map of the area when we encountered a road block on our way due to some protests and were being sent on a massive detour (even Google maps did not have the roads on her map!). We loved that so many sights were just a stone's throw from the house, including the main square and cathedral, the incomparable Casa de los Venados and the lovely handicrafts store across the street Jaguara Yucatan. Danielle helped us to plan the best use of our time during our limited stay, and we just wish we had more time. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Our experience here, at the house, and in Vallodolid, is what dreams are made of! I cannot express what an amazing home this is- it's stunning and grand while being cozy and welcoming. We travelled with our 3 boys (10,8,6) and they loved it too, and wanted to know if we could move in :) The photos don't do the house justice, and it's perfectly located within walking distance to everything you could need (restaurants, shops, grocery store, galleries, playgrounds, a cenote, etc.). We rented a car and had no trouble parking in front of the house.
And as others have said, the most unexpected treasure of our experience was being connected with Danielle! If Danielle suggests an activity or a restaurant to you- DO IT- she is the best, and will be an asset to your time in Vallodolid!
While we had to tell our kids we couldn't move in, if the house ever goes on market, we'll be 1st in line with an offer :)

My husband and I, daughter, son in law and two small grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed spending Five days in this magnificent colonial estate in the heart of Valladolid. The entrance, dining room and two bedrooms in the first building are impeccably decorated under 40 foot beamed ceilings. The enormous tiled kitchen looks out over a carefully tended garden that feels like a secluded oasis just a block from the city center. The bedroom and deck above the kitchen offer more privacy and a clear view of gleaming stars at night. We all fell in love with this magnificent estate and with the charming town of Valladolid. Danielle was so helpful, and Carlos was lovely. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home with us. We take from it memories for a lifetime.

There is so much to say about this property. The location was ideal, and being in such a well maintained and beautiful historical colonial home left us speechless. It was FANTASTIC! The owners had it well equipped, and thought of everything. Carlos kept up the grounds and house wonderfully, and Danielle is an amazing person and house manager. She is absolutely delightful, and her #1 priority is to ensure we had a great stay. Many reviews just give 5 stars because it’s ‘easy’ … but trust me this one really deserves 5++ stars!

Our family had a wonderful stay in this 300 year old mansion. Yes, from the 1600's - three foot thick walls, 20 foot ceilings, amazing tile work, cool shaded interiors set in a gorgeous garden. Plus- easy walk to restaurants, shopping, with a charming kitchen, beautiful bathrooms and AC. We rented a car from a referral from Danielle - drove to the Coba ruins and Tulum. Chichen-Itza was closed at our visit - but it, and Ek Balam, are very close. We were always able to find a parking spot in front. Don't miss Casa de los Venados (largest private display of Mexican folk art in Mexico, collected over 30 years) - just a couple of doors down - many talented artists. We all enjoyed sitting on the veranda looking at the garden plus the roof top deck with views of the Valladolid cathedral and the city. There is plenty to do for our 20-30 year old sons, plus their parents. Danielle is so welcoming, and willing to share her experience in the area to guide your stay. Carlos provides the beautiful garden. Pictures really can't capture this historic, classic home and the beauty that is here.

Great location, walk to plaza and restaurants around the city center. House is a beautiful oasis with 2 private courtyards and a fantastic roof deck. Back courtyard garden is a perfect spot to relax. House is clean, well stocked big kitchen, washer dryer. Lots of art and history. Great place to stay. Danielle is super responsive and available for questions or recommendations, otherwise the house is a quiet place to relax in the middle of Valladolid. Thanks!

I definitely recommend this property. This is large beautiful space, both inside and out. There is a huge, well-equipped kitchen, great bathrooms and a peaceful, fully enclosed out door sitting area (with an additional patio upstairs).
Danielle (the manager) was very personable and responsive. At one point we locked ourselves out of the property with both of our phones inside (charging). With the help of a neighboring business, and in a very short time, we were able to reach Danielle and find Carlos (the property’s gardener), both of whom arrived within minutes. Problem solved.
It’s well located with a short walk to the main square, Convento de San Bernardino de Siena, restaurants, etc.
Thanks Danielle, we’ll definitely stay again the next time we’re in the area.

Amazing colonial home blocks from central park
Danielle, who manages the property, met us at the house and explained everything to us, including the history of the house and some of the must do things in town. The house was amazing. Great location, comfortable beds, great AC (much appreciated after a hot day exploring Valladolid), and an amazing outdoor space to just sit back and relax. Would definitely return in the future.

Like a dream
It’s an exceptional place! The pictures don’t give justice to the property. The house is like a piece of art with all the original furniture and objects carefully maintained with love and passione by the hostess Danielle. Thanks to Danielle we had the most unique and unforgettable 4 days of our vacation in Yucatán. The garden itself is like a dream, a dream that I have since I was a child. It is a magic place that transports you in a dimension what away from our modern world.
My special thanks to Carlos, the Gardner, who spent time to collect the fruits from the trees in the garden to make juice and tea for me and my family.
I highly recommend it. No doubts my family and I will rent it again for longer time

Best Stay Ever
This colonial home in center of Valladolid is absolutely stunning. Words cannot do justice to beauty and care taken to restore this property. I've been lucky enough to do a fair amount of travelling in my day, and this by far the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. The outdoor areas are phenomenal places to relax, and the rooftop offered a nice breeze to help combat the spring heat. My only regret is not having longer to stay here. It should also be mentioned that communication between the host and myself was flawless. They took the time to thoughtfully answer my many questions. I truly hope to stay here again and emphatically recommend that you do as well.

Breathtaking
This house has so much history and so many beautiful views without having to leave. We only stayed a couple days but there are so many places within walking distance to eat and shop. I hope we get to come back and stay here again!

A hidden gem
We LOVED this property so much and cannot wait to return. Danielle was very responsive and helpful as the property manager. The property was perfect for my family - a unique stay, full of culture. Because of the amazing gardens and plants, there are a lot of mosquitos, but the property was so well taken care of. Great location, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. We cannot wait to return!

Absolutely incredible experience
Words cannot really prepare you for the glorious, palatial, gorgeous property this is. 20 ft ceilings in the main bedrooms, stunning corridor and gardens, perfect kitchen, hammocks for days are just the beginning. And SO centrally located. You will not regret staying here - in fact, you will likely come back to Valladolid one day just stay there again.

Perfect rental in Valladolid
This is a stunning house minutes from the centre of Valladolid. The pictures do not do it justice - quiet, spacious, peaceful, stunning garden and beautiful property - I would not stay anywhere else in Valladolid. The welcome from Danielle was fantastic, warm, knowledgeable and friendly. Super efficient too. Carlos, who maintains the extraordinary garden, was just as friendly and kind. It is a one-off and I could not recommend the whole experience more.

Luxury Home one of Kind Residence
Beautiful restored historic home in the heart of Valladolid, Mexico. It would be very easy just to stay and enjoy the home. The grounds are perfectly taken care of and peaceful. The host, Danielle provided us with all the upfront planning before our arrival and met us with a warm greeting.. We were in awe of the entire experience.

Probably the most beautiful home we have ever stayed in.

Sacred Garden
This is a very special home, meticulously restored to its original glory with thoughtful details and impeccable style. The caretakers are exceptionally kind and expert, the garden is a stunning oasis, the linens and provisions are above and beyond. We felt as much care for the place as we would our own family home because that energy is woven throughout. We hope to stay here many more times in the decades ahead.

Loved this place
So beautiful and spacious. We loved hanging out at the large kitchen island and relaxing in the lovely garden patio. This place is beautiful and comfortable. Very close to town, shopping, and restaurants. We just stepped out our door and walked everywhere. Definitely exceeded our expectations.

Incredible Property
The pictures do not do the property justice. We were expecting great things but were completely blown away by the reality. Immaculate grounds and gardens, wonderful location, and great communication with the host. Highly recommended.

A wonderful paradise in the city centre
The apartment is centrally located with all of the main restaurants and sights nearby. Check-in was impeccable, Danielle and Pablo were extremely helpful and flexible to meet and greet us in the evening. Danielle provided lots of tips on where to go and what to do. She was also very kind and responsive about other everyday life questions we had. Pablo, who lives on the territory of the property is an extremely careful and tactical person. He is very respectful and a pleasure to talk to (if you manage to see him, which isn’t easy!). The apartment or rather, the villa, is an impressive place and an experience in itself. The hosts have put a lot of love and care in carefully building and decorating it. It is an old-style living space with the highest ceilings you’ll see in this area. The place is very spacious and can accommodate at least four-five people. It is beautifully furnished, includes perfectly thought-through details such as AC and dark curtains in the bedroom, two bathrooms with a shower in each of them, a fully-equipped kitchen and the most beautiful garden. The garden is in an impeccable condition thanks to the brilliant work of Pablo’s. He is a genius and makes you want to spend all your days in the garden. This is dangerous because you might as well just stay at home and not want to explore the area, but it’s unlikely you will regret this decision :) The place feels like home and not like a hotel which is something I always appreciate when I travel. We couldn’t think of any suggestions for improvement apart from maybe checking the AC in the bedroom as it seems like it’s getting a bit loud and for those, who are light sleepers, this would be something to consider, but we have let the hosts know and I’m sure they will take this feedback into account. Otherwise, we are very grateful to the hosts for letting us stay in this fantastic home they made. Hoping to come back one day and maybe meet them in person :)
