Horrible stay. Ruined my children’s holiday. Booking get this place off your site. It’s terrible.

There is nothing to like about this property.Horrible place.

Everything. It was over priced, dirty, last had a lick of paint god knows when. The cutlery was dirty, the floor dirty, the pots and pans dirty and there was dust on the tv and other places. None of the 20 plates where the same make.Nasty place and shame on Booking.com for having it on your website.Book this place at your peril.

Terrible

The location is quite good, close to public transport and attractions.

Way too many bad things .. Although it is mentioned that the staff speaks more languages they were not able to speak a word with us. Upon arrival the receptionist was in a phone call, which sounded a privat phone call and ignored us to finish her talk. Once we got to our room there was an insane smell of smoke, once we mentioned this the answer was that it is a non smoking room but people smoke inside anyways and they can not give us anything else- this of course was all done through google translate, unable to get a person we can talk to or understand us. The receptionists solution was to open a the windows which is a joke.. There was no willingness to help at all. After complaining to booking.com and trying to get to talk to anyone 2 days before our check out they randomly came to our room to offer a room change at this point we of course had the windows open day and night which did not help the place and smell, and due to no previous communication we were not able to just move easily.. We got no compensations, apologies or anything at all- because according o them they offered us to move- of course they forgot that this happened mid stay and no-one cared until then- they thought is it fair that we spend half of our stay in a smoky room and they said it was our decision not to move, meanwhile we asked for this the first day where we met with the "open the window" solution.. Totally unbelievable.. Not to mention, that place has a different name then the advertised and there is also no water pressure in the shower. All in all after many travels and staying in several places around the world, I would not suggest this place to anyone.

Location

The hotel is selling their room as "Ark am hauptabahnof" but there's no mention of this name in the property building which is actually named as "Central inn". They have given me hand written invoice! It's a very old building lacking any sort of modern amenities. My room was on 4th floor, juxtaposed by two service rooms, quite oddly placed. Three keys were needed to enter from main door at ground level to the 4th floor corridor and then to room. After returning hotel at night, I found the 4th floor corridor peach dark (which was really unexpected and scaring). In that dark, I needed to open the corridor door to get in. The room itself was unsafe. My cap was missing from the room. I reported that to the lady at reception. With her poor English, she constantly tried to convince me that I had dropped it outside. I even told her to check CC tv footage that I entered hotel with the cap. But she kept on arguing. However, loosing a cap is not a big issue, but if such sort of snatching happens, it becomes a matter of safety and security. I later realised that there were many bad reviews about the hotel. All of them had similar concerns like me. I wonder how Booking.com still allows this property on their webpage. It's a question of their ignorance as well!

Good location, close to the center, the premises were renovated a long time ago, but everything is clean.

We were here for three nights, a family with three children. The room service person touched personal belongings and stole decorative cosmetics. We informed the administration about it, they apologized to us. You cannot be safe with your belongings in this hotel, we will not use this place again.

Easy, convenient and a pleasant staff

The room was clean and functional. I especially liked the shower pressure! The kitchen had everything one needs to cook and keep things cold. The women at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The location was brilliant.

As I said, it was worth every penny.

There are worse places you could end up. This is a good average. Apart from the staff who are very below average.

Decent sized rooms, good location 15 walk to train station. Quiet location. Small kitchenette with fridge and kettle. Plenty of hot water, good shower water pressure.

Absolutely stank of cigarette smoke when we arrived. Took 3 days before we didn’t notice it. Shower attachment is hanging off the wall in the shower. Staff could do with some customer relations courses. I left an expensive shirt in the room, despite phone calls and e mails they were spectacularly unhelpful, I tried to tell them that it was on a chair out of sight pushed under a table in the bedroom, they just kept saying the cleaner found nothing. I know it’s there. Would I stay again? Possibly.

Visited Berlin for full three days, moved mainly on feet but also used U-bahn and S-bahn.

Basic but clean and comfortable room, ideal for an active traveller who wants to see Berlin attractions and does not plan to spend much time in the room. Distances: 800 m to Berlin HBf, 350 m to Aldi market, tram stop 100m. Silent place on the fourth floor. Berlin street and metro plan available.

Payment in cash required while checking-in (I knew about that so I was prepared). Nearby vicinity of the hotel (pavements, road) are reconstructed, thus walking is not comfortable.

Wouldn't repeat

The location is incredible.

It is completely different from the pictures. We thought we booked a small apartment with 3 different rooms, but no. Everything in the same room, which has wall stains, the furniture needs a complete makeover, you could see mold stains in the mattress through the sheets,the shower head is very rusty and calcified. The kitchen hasn't any ventilation ducts, so when you cook the room smells like food the entire day and night. The room was booked for two people and the kitchen only has one fork. The lady from the desk is rude, we asked for a place to have dinner nearby and she just nodded her head like she doesn't want to be bothered.

The apartment did not correspond to provided photos. Two single beds were placed in the kitchen. Our apartment was not carpeted. no sugar, salts. Found the wifi quite unstable

10 min walking to the hauptbahnhof. Close to the center. So quiet location. Big room.

The small kitchen presents, but I would rather add a microwave.

OK for 1 night if you can't find anything else and are desperate - I would not recommend!

Room heating - the room was a nice temperature but difficult to control/ regulate Old features - windows particularly

Signage to actually locate reception very poor. Receptionist not welcoming or very pleasant towards us on arrival. Pillows were awful Uneven and squeaky floor boards and poor floor coverings Curtains not covering windows properly and not providing privacy Dusty and dirty lampshades on bedside lamps On 4th floor with 1/2 landings, so up 8 flights of stairs to apartment as didn't get the feeling the lift was maintained and didn't want to get stuck in it!

You get what you pay for

There was enough room for 4 people and we were allowed to check in early, which we really appreciated.

We didn’t get enough towels or bed linens for the 4 of us, we had to ask for them, but they provided them really quick. Also the shower was clogged and it was fixed until it was cleaned on the second day.

For this price - this is the perfect place. It is well-located, staff is nice. Rooms are relatively big.

WiFi is not working, breakfast available from 10AM or later, so it is difficult to eat it before a whole day trip.

The receptionist was very rude when I arrived, the room was dirty, I asked for a non smoking room and they give me a room that was smelling smoke a lot I couldn’t sleep well because of it.and the place is not in good location. Definitely do not recommend.
