Over all… I would stay here again. Good location, close to attractions and neighborhood was quiet.

Interior and exterior is an eye catcher. Made my choice of staying here for the price feel like a good choice.

Paint and fixtures were very low budget. Totally not a custom paint job on interior, windows and doors get stuck due to excessive paint. For the price of the room, I expected better quality.

Lovely friendly helpful staff who made our stay very enjoyable.

Historic house in a super part of Santa Monica. Quirky touches in the decoration make it interesting.

Not many facilities and no restaurant in the evening.

what we'd hoped it would be.

it's stylish and quirky and exactly what we wanted. Location was great also. It just feels different from large hotels and I loved the history. We loved having lunch in the gardens.

great location, walking distance to all local restaurants and shops as well as the beach.

great location friendly staff, small boutique hotel.

no coffee making facilities. charged for coffee when served downstairs and brought up to room. charge for bottled water in the room, $13 would be nice to have the option of a jug of tap water on the bed room daily.

My prefered secret garden in LA

I absolutely loves this hotel - it has an incredible charm and people are very nice. The garden is enchanting and the location is one of the best in LA. Been there multiple times and will come back!

Eclectic, luxurious and relaxing

The overall feeling. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Love the decor and quirkiness of the decor. The building is gorgeous. Great location. It was far more than I normally spend when I travel, but worth every penny.

Cool, historic property but wouldn’t stay again for the price

The building is well taken care of for the age of the property, but for the rate some major upgrades are warranted. It has major charm given the architecture and the diptyque bath products and plush robe were a nice touch.

The bathroom is very, very small. You truly could not turn in the shower without touching the walls (and I’m very normal sized woman). There is no bar onsite which would be nice for a pre dinner cocktail or night cap. When we checked in there was no introduction of the property which would have been really nice given it’s history and quirks, such as the elevator, lawn games out front or schedule of the coffee bar.

Very relaxing and enjoyable.

I enjoyed the salmon choice for breakfast. The gardens and courtyard were lovely. The open fire that was lit in the lounge /dinning area, was most welcome, so relaxing. The location in a quiet residential area was perfect, with a 10 min walk to mall or beach.

It would be nice if they could get a liquor licence.One could enjoy a glass of wine there. The residential location makes it difficult to get one. Everything else was more than acceptable.

Great decor and style. Love sitting in the lobby area.

Drip coffee should be free for guests. Understand charging for lattes and nicer coffees but drip is cheap to make so would be a nice and reasonable thing to offer. Thanks!

Exceptional

The location of the Pali House is great. A few blocks from the 3rd Street Promenade with shops and restaurants. It is 3 blocks from the amazing Santa Monica bluffs on Ocean Blvd where you can have beautiful sunset views of Malibu and the Santa Monica Pier. The Pali House is old mission style building full of charm and history. The lift(elevator) is the original. The outdoor patio is great for breakfast.

Good place to stay in Santa Monica

Beautiful & cosy property, good location, easy parking (valet) and nice snacks/food. We received an upgrade and room was nice and big. Bathrooms are small but clean and convenient. We rented some bikes from the hotel as well. Very fair value for money for LA/Santa Monica.

Service is fairly mediocre (i.e., lot of interactions with clueless people to be honest). Price for snacks/food is a bit too much for what it is.

Palihouse is the worst hotel I have stayed in this decade and do not recommend.

Dirty dusty rooms, noisy as walls thin. At 12.30pm I called reception and asked for them to keep the noise down and the night manager said he could not do anything about it and hung up on me. Had a sleepless night which resulted in missing all scheduled meetings the next day. asked for a refund and checked into the viceroy for the next night and service and staff exceptional. Palihouse is the worst hotel I have stayed in this decade and do not recommend.
