Beautiful spacious house in heart of Carcassone

Beautiful property right next to the castle. Very spacious for a family of 5. Lovely courtyard garden for eating.

Idyllic house below the Castle

Idyllic house below the magnificent Castle ramparts. Comfortable, quiet and cool. The bedrooms were perfect for a good nights sleep. Only a short walk up the pathway to the Castle. Very scenic views. Our hosts even left a welcoming bottle of wine. Merci beaucoup 🍷

A unique, comfortable, well equipped place to stay & just a short walk away from the medieval city.

We spent an amazing week in Carcassone and were so delighted to stay in Isabelle's house, so close to the medieval citadel. It was literally a minute or so walk from the medieval walls. The temperatures rose considerably whilst there so we were thankful for the coolness of the house (tiled floors, shutters on the windows and plenty of electric fans!). All bedding, towels and kitchenware were amply provided and offered lovely comfort and practicalities as needed. Great to have an downstairs toilet and an upstairs one too (the upstairs one was small but separate to the bathroom which was useful for the 3 of us!). We made use of the washing machine during our stay which was appreciated. The outside garden space was rustic and pretty - great to see the 3 tortoises too (we shared our lettuce with them). The location of the house is off the main roads, and alongside more of a pedestrian route to the citadel. It wasn't overly busy but bustling at various times with visitors keen to reach the medieval walls. It was really nice to hear lots of accents from around the world! There is a music festival throughout July in Carcassone with performances in the outdoor theatre, within the walls. We could hear music on some of the days which actually added to the fun of the place. Worth considering booking Cote Remparts during the festival if you plan to see some of the performers :) Isabelle also has been so helpful in posting back to the UK an item of clothing that my son had left behind. Truly appreciated :)

We liked pretty much everything about this lovely place. The concrete steps to the top floor (where we used the lovely lounge space) felt a bit tricky to negotiate initially but we soon got used to them.

Cosy house with excellent position and great view of the Citadel

Great position. big space to play and relax on the top floor, a small exclusive courtyard (with turtles!) to enjoy, comfortable rooms and cosy place in general. Excellent communication with the host, a very satisifactory experience.

The stairs may be a bit dangerous for children, maybe some security device can help. Only one toilet for a space of potentially 6-7 people is a bit too less, but there is nothing to do about it. Again, the house was pretty perfect.

We loved the location, the layout of the property and facilities were excellent for our family of 5. Isabelle gave us a very warm welcome too. Great value for money. A very relaxing visit.
