We stayed for 5 nights and had a great time at this property. The space is really lovely. There is a cute little balcony with a view of the lake. The only negative is that there is no AC and there was a heat wave for two days…but it was managed with the fans ok. Would recommend again.

The property met our expectations. It was convenient to do all the things we wanted. Beds were comfortable, plenty of fans to keep us cool in hot weather, nice appliances and lovely view from tiny balcony. Where our discontent with this property was as follows. When we arrived there was no key in the lockbox as stated by our email. We had travelled over six hours to get there and were very tired. I called the office and was told we could go to their office to get the key which was on the other side of the lake which meant we would have to take a ferry there, find the office and return to Varenna. This was not an option for us and requested it was there responsibility to have key in place. With phone calls back and forth, to sum it up we spent over two hours sitting in hallway with our luggage waiting to get into apartment. The person who finally show up was very nice and said it was his day off and he came from another town. He said cleaning people probably took the key. When I emailed them the next day saying how disappointed we were with their help they said they would give 10% off next visit. I am 76 and was on a trip with my grandchildren. I would not be returning to use the 10% and felt they could have been more caring. Secondly, the directions from train arrival were nil. We had to keep asking people as we entered the town for directions. The picture directions once we found post office were good. Varenna is a beautiful little place and offers many things to do. Food is good, Ferry rides to other towns lovely and flowers were beautiful as well as restaurant clerks and those in the stores.

Nicely redone, comfortable apartment in a great location. Perfect to explore the lake region. Check in was total crap. Spent an hour trying to find the place which was not even close, after traveling all day. Apparently we were supposed to have the 10 page instructions with pictures to find it, which was in the flat. After expressing my feelings to concierge, could not get them to answer

First time visiting Lake Como. Beautiful property, a complementary welcome pack with wine, milk and snacks is waiting for you when you arrived. exactly as stated except the views were much more spectacular than the ones in the listing photos. Varenna is a fun base to use as many ferries and train to go to Milan or Lugano. The appartment is around the corner of good cafés and restaurants and train station.

Perfectly located two bedroom, two story apartment, with a small balcony view of the lake. Quiet. Comfy beds in the upstairs bedrooms. Easy self check-in, great communications with the host. Apartment was a two minute walk to the waterfront. Varenna is very small, and everything is within walking distance, including the water ferries to explore other towns on the lake. Bellagio is only a 15 minute boat ride away. We think we chose the ideal location for our Lake Como trip. Thank you!

Die Lade des Appartements ist einfach einmalig - unmittelbare Lage zum See, zum Bäcker, Lebensmittelladen zur Piazza und zu allen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants. Nachdem es aufgrund eines Sturmes einen Wasserschaden gab, kam von der Agentur sehr schnell Hilfe und der Schaden wurde auch nachhaltig beseitigt. Ausstattungsmäßig könnte das Geschirr noch etwas aufgestockt werden (kleine Schüsselchen, Gläser). Für alle die mit dem Auto anreisen, wird das Parkplatzproblem zur täglichen Herausforderung, v.a. Finanziell!!!! Last Not least - Varenna ist ein wunderschöner Ort, indem man das Dolce Vita wirklich genießen kann!!!

This apartment is in a fabulous location, though Varenna is small so everything is close by. The apartment is spare but has plenty of space and great light and views. Please be aware, the kitchen appliances didn't work other than the fridge.

The apartment is clean and well located with lovely views.Better directions from the train station would be my only suggestion. Using Google maps was unnecessarily frustrating but the management team was helpful and friendly.

We stayed at a lake Como holiday rental in Varenna for two weeks and had a fantastic time even though it was a cool May. I have to mention that the staff, especially our concierge Elisa, were outstanding in responding to us and answering our questions. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good rental experience. We stayed at a posting we found on VRBO and it was exactly as stated except the views were much more spectacular than the ones in the listing photos. Varenna is a fun base to use as many ferries can be caught here and of course it has the scenic walkway along the lake extending the length of the town and a multitude of good cafés and restaurants. +2 little grocery stores with all you need to get by with very helpful owners. The train is very handy and we used it multiple times. There is also a taxi service run by Rita and her sister and they could not have been better! If you stay for a long stint like we did it is easy to take the train to Lecco and Colico at the northern and southern extremes of Lake Como. Plus locally you have Menaggio and Bellaggio to visit and we also took the ferry down to Como.If you take the ferry to Menaggio you can then take the one hour bus over the hill to Lugano Switzerland which is a fantastic day trip visit.It was a long trip but we did a day trip to St Moritz Switzerland up through the Alps and talk about a spectacular train ride!!! You take the train north to Toronto and then change trains right next-door on the Bernie’s express up and over. The wonderful employee at the Varenna train station was more than helpful in setting this up. Long day but so worth it.

Varenna itself was a little quiet when we stayed but the location was perfect. We had a slight challenge finding the apartment but other than that all was excellent

We had stayed in Varenna before and were very pleased with the location and apartment. Your pictures on VRBO do not really show what nice views you get from both sides of the apartment though…access to the keybox and apartment was easy…your team was always responsive to my emails…we enjoyed the dinner at Albergo Milano, as always…the owner always makes you feel like a welcome guest…the things which I think need some attention: soap/shampoo…it is hard to travel with liquids, so would be great if provided…the outdoor common deck had broken furniture and what-not…could use a sturdy table and chairs…great view from there..the metal interior stairway in the apartment makes loud noise as you use it…not sure it can be fixed, but it does wake people up when using…otherwise, the apartment was clean and spacious…we would recommend it to our friends and would rent it again. thanks

Well equipped and clean property in heart of Varenna, very close to main square and lake side restaurants. We had a lovely week with our two kids (8and 12) enjoying walks around the lake and local sights. Highly recommend it.

We, 2 couples, loved the 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment is exactly as pictured and the village of Varenna is a nice retreat from the hustle & bustle of Bellagio. The location was perfect.

The view of Lake Como from the balcony was wonderful and made for a nice place for two people to enjoy a glass of wine. It was conveniently located to the promenade area, restaurants, ferry, and center of town. Our suggestions include making the lock box more user friendly, provide washcloths, dishwashing soap, shelves in the bathroom, and a full length mirror. The directions for finding the apartment were not clear because the sign for the post office is missing. September 2017 This a spacious apartment in a great location. Ageing travellers should know it's on the second floor with stairs to climb. It was sunny and light with great views of the lake. Varenna is really lovely and we had a truly great few days on the lake.” David, UK

As far as activities we enjoyed - we rented a boat from a company in Varenna. It was a lot of fun and would highly recommend it. We also enjoyed the hike up to the castle and over to the waterfalls.
