The Hartsook House was the ideal home while we waited to buy and remodel our new condo. The house is very tastefully decorated, has everything and more than you need, and is in a very quiet and peaceful neighborhood, close to a park for exercise or walking. Helen, The property manager, was very responsive to a few special requests and the house was actually nicer than advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had a great 3 week stay. Close to a market for necessary goods, great place to walk, close to Magnolia Blvd. and our grandson (in Burbank) and close to freeways. A very relaxing, quiet, lovely spot. We hope to do it again next year. Helen and Diane were very quick with answers to any questions and very helpful. SK from PA

This was the most pleasant VRBO stay we've had -- partly because of the location, gardens and interior decor, partly because of how thoughtfully and well-provisioned it is -- just like a real homey home. And partly because of Helen's responsiveness to our questions ahead of time. We were delighted, and are already planning to reserve when we come to LA again next fall.

We really enjoyed 9 day’s vacation here. House is very clean and quiet. All facilities are perfect for us. Back yard garden is so beautiful and we relaxed with morning coffee every day. Helen, thank you very much for your great support for us. We will come back here for next vacation.

We have rent several houses trough Home Away but this has been far one of our favorites. The house itself is beautiful, kitchen is packed with everything you need and even more. Very high quality all the way around from towels to pillows, comforters, shampoo, conditioner the list goes on an on. They absolutely tough of everything to make their guests feel comfortable and at home. Neighborhood is nice and quiet and very close to Universal Studios. Last but not least the backyard is perfect with lot of trees, barbecue and a beautiful hammock to relax on after a fun day. So to say the least it was really hard to go back home we had an absolutely perfect stayed and we will for sure visit again soon! Thank you very much for the wonderful memories my family was able to make in your beautiful place.

We were 2 couples enjoying the house as our base during a wedding weekend. While the house is nicely appointed the 2nd smaller bedroom would be more welcoming if it was more well appointed as the master suite is. It’s hard to share this house “fairly” with another couple for that reason. The garden was lovely and the owner and staff responsive. The only thing that would have made it a 5 star stay is that there was noisy repair and renovation work being done on the adjacent property owned by this host and we would have preferred it being done after our stay and not during.

We enjoyed our visit! Several locations to relax in the private back yard, spacious living room and front patio. Kitchen was very well stocked. Great mattress in the master bedroom. Plenty of space for 3-4 adults and having a second full bath was perfect. The place is clean, cozy and very comfortable. Quiet neighborhood but easy access to the highway. Check in was a breeze. Our host was responsive and easy to connect with, but we had no need to reach her. We loved the place, had no issues, and would definitely stay here again!!

My friends and I were quite happy with our stay. I would like to thank Diane and Helen. Diane was very helpful with the cable. The house was very clean. The binder was helpful. My friends and I walked to the store. We fell in love with the neighborhood. We would definitely book this property again.

The house was very clean and had all the ammnities required. Very nice decoration and beautiful bathroom. 20 min walk to metro station. Shops and restaurants very close. I would recommend this place.

The property was in a cute neighborhood, and the accommodations were very comfortable with a washer and dryer and ample kitchen supplies. Our family of 4 enjoyed 5 nights being close all kinds of Los Angeles spots and attractions. Would definitely book again!

This property is an adorable bungalow in N Hollywood. Immaculately clean, safe neighborhood and has everything one would need as well as convenient to anywhere in LA area. Property manager helped with not only reserving but how to get around, best routes to avoid traffic-even fresh flowers in every room. Would recommend 100%!

Beautifully done, fully appointed with necessities and amenities. Communication from Helen was exceptionally helpful and full of useful information! Highly recommended for a small party of 2-4.

Nice quiet space to just relax, especially if recovering from a medical procedure. Fully equipped 2 bedroom with everything needed in the kitchen. All is there if you wanted to do full on extensive cooking. Only minor drawback was this property is on flight path of I assume the Burbank airport.

Very clean and great location in the Los Angeles area. The house had everything we needed. The garden area was beautiful and a nice area to visit with family.

We really enjoyed our vacation in this guest house. The instructions and information that Helen sent us prior to our arrival were extremely valuable, from where to grocery shop to restaurants, local attractions, and even a local dentist should you need that type of help. The best feature was the location. Only 2 miles from Studio City, about 5 miles from Warner Bros. studios in Burbank, and about the same to Universal. Didn't even need to get on the freeways in some cases, which is a blessing. We did have an issue with the furnace and a small roof leak (probably because we got more rain in one day than they usually get in a month or more), but Helen had both issues fixed within a few hours.Don't let that concern you. I'm sure this was an isolated incident. We would definitely stay in this house again. Thanks, Helen!

Thoughtfully stocked, from a shoeshine kit to a welcoming goodie basket and real flowers! Helen and her team manage this lovely cottage so professionally and gave such great information so the only surprises were nice ones. Located in a quiet neighborhood, but it is close enough to everything. The cottage is so nicely decorated, well-equipped and relaxing, it was a thoroughly delightful treat to stay here!

This is the fourth property we have rented through Helen Walker. We have never been disappointed, The descriptions don't really do this guest house justice. Everything is first class and attractive. and the kitchen is so well supplied we could happily stay much longer and entertain much more than we needed to the 3 nights we were there - this time to take in the Rose Bowl and visit with our children and grandchildren. The openness of the rooms and the access to the outdoors are big pluses. The little patio at the front with comfortable chairs and couches and vine covered trellises is lovely to look out upon from the living room. I would readily recommend the property to people visiting the area who want a quiet, very convenient, and lovely place to stay, complete with off the street parking.

Just spent 3 days at this cozy guest house and I could not have been more comfortable. The surrounding area felt safe. The house has lots of privacy, the master bedroom is spacious with lots of natural light, the kitchen was just the rights size and the house is modernly decorated. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Note, don't try to squeeze in a 7th person unless they plan to sleep on the floor. The outside was charming. Helen communicates very well and answered all my questions immediately.

We spent a wonderful Mother's Day weekend at this beautiful guest house. It's so cozy and comfortable in a fantastic garden setting. It has all the comforts of home and I can guarantee that we'll be back here before summer is over. Thank you Helen for suggesting this wonderful guest house.

My husband and I and our two daughters nine and eleven stayed here for a long weekend. We have stayed in many VRBO rentals, and this was hands down the most well equipped and decorated home we have stayed in. Everything you can think of is there from shampoo, to muffin tins, to zip loc bags. It has two lovely outdoor spaces that are wonderful in the LA weather. It is incredibly comfortable and well laid out. The home is close to grocery stores (Gelson's, Vons and Whole Foods), as well as freeway access. Helen was an efficient and fast communicator, and the property instructions made check in easy. While the house is part of a larger property with another house on the property, we never saw another person and felt like we were in our own private oasis. I would not hesitate to rent this lovely home again.

The guest house was perfectly neat and clean when we arrived and there was a welcome basket of assorted fruit, cookies and popcorn. As we unpacked and settled in, we found the amenities to be excellent. We have rented many properties through HomeAway, but this was the best-stocked rental we have seen. There were plenty of towels, every kitchen utensil and appliance you could want, an excellent washer and dryer and cable tv with all the basic channels plus movie channels. The owner thought of everything for this guest house. The house is situated on a quiet street in a nice neighborhood, but close to the major freeways in the valley. The private back yard is a very pleasant place to relax, as is the front veranda with Bougainvillea growing on the front trellis. The furniture is comfortable, the closet space is ample and there's even a gas fireplace. The owner is very nice, communicates well and is very accommodating. If you're planning a visit to LA, you should definitely consider this property!

We were a group 16 people gathering in LA for a family wedding. We couldn’t have picked more perfect places to stay. We rented the main house and guest house plus Helen has another unit within walking distance of the Hartsook houses located Westbrook. I highly recommend any of these places; there was ample room so we weren’t all on top of each other. We liked to cook our own meals in the well-stocked kitchens; everything you could possibly need was there. Lots of fluffy bath towels, to the wonderful candles throughout made our stay like being at home. There are plenty of books to read, handy brochures to get you around town plus you are in a great location close to restaurants and grocery stores. These units are very homey with nice backyards for BBQ, I can’t say enough, this is the only way to go instead of a campy hotel, and they are clean and well managed. The only bad thing is we didn’t get to meet Helen in person. Oh and the personal touch of a welcome basket was awesome. Thanks so much Helen!

I would return to this property in a heartbeat. I do a ton of rentals for travel and this was the most well appointed rental I have ever stayed in. Beautiful furniture, robes, and well decorated. Kitchen had snacks, spices, fruit, oil and was beautifully appointed. The cleaning people did an excellent job as well. We were well cared for. You will not regret staying here. We loved all of her recommendations as well.
