This was our 2nd visit to the HGTV House, and it did not disappoint! Highly recommend this location. Everything was perfect! Close to the beach, the park, and the main street of Cape Charles. All the beach equipment you could want including the golf cart. We'll be back again!

From the time we booked our stay over a year in advance until booking our return visit in June 2025 its been smooth sailing! The Sandlot House is the PERFECT place for us. The location, the decor, the porches, the linens & towels, the kitchen...the entire home is now our go to place....and let's just say the Sandlot golfcart is the icing on this cake. Perfectly close to the park, the downtown area featuring coffee shops, bakeries, ice cream & restaurants plus the beach.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at The Sandlot House! The location is perfect; close to the main street, very close to the beautiful playground and park, and very close to the beach access. The house is gorgeous, the perfect size, and has everything you need (including coffee that is "on-theme" with The Sandlot") The included golf cart and beach equipment in the garage was so helpful! Backyard is very cute with a nice firepit, deck, and cafe lights. The owner was very welcoming and communicated quickly. We WILL be back!

This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this home in Cape Charles. The location is perfect because it is close to the dog park/playground and also walking distance to the beach and shopping.
The floor plan is great, the updated features are beautiful and fun. We didn’t use the fire pit but look forward to if we come back in the future. Having the garage with access to golf cart, tennis, chairs, bikes, etc is a huge benefit of convenience AND savings!

Not only was the house beautiful and the location perfect, the host thought of everything the guests would need for a convenient and comfortable stay - from plenty of linens and bedding, to chopped wood for the fire pit, to an awesome original Nintendo which our 12 year old boys loved! The kids room was complete with a small table and plenty of books for a little one. Such a fantastic experience, 10/10 would recommend!

The house was beautiful and well equipped and very very clean! The owner was very responsive to our questions and very accommodating! Very peaceful and relaxing and much to do in Cape Charles! We will definitely come back to The Sandlot 🏝️

Five friends and I stayed at the “Sandlot” to celebrate my birthday. The house was very welcoming and comfortable and had everything. We especially enjoyed the kitchen and dining space. Both the front porch and back deck were fun gathering spots. It is the perfect location to restaurants, shops and the beach. Scott is a wonderful host.

Perfect rental for a wonderful vacation! This was our third year staying at the Sandlot House and we are looking forward to a return visit. Scott is a great host and a pleasure to work with. We love all the amenities that come with this rental! No need to pack beach chairs, beach towels, bikes, etc…it’s all included! Golf cart to get around town is one of our favorite perks!

We had an amazing stay at the Sandlot House. The house had everything we could possibly think of for our trip with a family of 5 plus grandparents. Hosts are super accommodating and location was so close to everything. This house is an amazing value for all of the amenities the hosts include. We will definitely return!

The Sandlot hits on all cylinders - great hangout space, comfortable sleeping arrangements, 4 seater golf cart with cargo space for beach toys, and updated appliances and kitchen…not to mention Scott’s responsiveness if you need anything while you’re visiting. We look forward to our return trip soon!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sandlot House! It was beautiful, in a perfect location between the beach and the park, and had so many amenities. The kitchen is well stocked with everything we wanted for cooking and the owners were very responsive. I highly recommend this house for a wonderful stay in Cape Charles!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Sandlot house! Perfect location, everything needed for a fun Beach stay is provided and the golf cart was just the cherry on top. The kitchen is just beautiful and the perfect family gathering spot! The communication with Scott was fast, informative and super nice. Highly recommend!!

The house is beautiful- the owners paid attention to every detail from the design to the amenities. It’s a great space! The showers are hot and strong, the kitchen is super roomy and fun to hang in. The front porch is perfect (bring your preferred bug repellent!) for coffee in the morning and lazy evenings with a bevy.
Location is perfect- between the park and the beach and close to the Main Street. Golf cart was super fun. So many beach amenities- SUPs, kayaks, toys, tents, chairs… everything!
My kids loved the bunk room- lots to do and adorably decorated… I just can’t say enough!

The location was great being right next to the park and only a few blocks from the beach and downtown shops. Scott is great to work with and the Sandlot golf cart was very convenient. It has a big front porch where you can relax and enjoy time with family. Highly recommend!!

We had a great stay at The Sandlot House. We had room to spare with our group of 4 adults and 2 kids. Everything is in walking distance, but the golf cart was a great bonus! The house is clean and has all the beach necessities. The property owner was easy to work with and very quick with communication.

We loved our 6 night stay at The Sandlot. The location is wonderful and the amenities are above and beyond … golf cart, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. … everything you need is already there! You even have rainy days covered with puzzles, books, and games. Thank you for providing a comfortable, beautiful, & pet friendly home!

We stayed at “The Sandlot House” for a spring break getaway with some close friends. There was a total of 7 of us (four adults and three kids) plus our dog. There was plenty of room for everyone. The two bathrooms made it easy to dedicate space for both families and the kitchen and pantry was well stocked with just about anything you could think of. The fire pit in the back yard was great and the golf cart in the garage made getting around town and to the beach a breeze. Communication with Scott, the host, was excellent. Loved our time here and hope to be back next year. Thanks Scott and family for the late check out and for allowing us to enjoy your home!

Nicely renovated home in a great location. The outdoor fire pit area + and use of a golf cart is a real bonus! So appreciate that we can stay in a nice place that also allows dogs. Property owners are very kind and responsive.

Inn all my years of renting thru VRBO, this was the best house I have rented. It had everything you could want or need in a home. Appliances, pots and pans, dishes, paper products, etc. The owner was extremely accommodating, the location was perfect to the beach and downtown, and the golf cart was an added plus. I plan to book again at this place.

This was our second stay at the Sandlot and we have already booked for next year. This home is close to the beach, dog friendly, well maintained, and full of amenities for a family. We enjoyed using the golf cart, bikes, beach chairs, beach towels, etc…no need to pack that stuff, this house comes fully loaded with all you need. Kitchen is spacious and well stocked. Home has a shady front porch with comfy chairs, perfect for reading a book. Back porch is nicely furnished and includes a separate fire pit area. Owners are very responsive to any needs or questions. Don’t hesitate to rent this home.

This was our group's second long weekend at the Sandlot house and it is truly an unparalleled short term rental. The owners have made it comfortable with thoughtful details like lots of beach towels, an amazing outdoor shower, a great firepit, chairs on the front porch, bikes, and a golf cart (and so much more but you can read about that in the listing).
We are a group that loves to cook and eat and especially love the spacious pantry, gas stove, and big sink. We highly recommend this house, which is clearly beloved and not a cookie cutter stay!

We just got home from another fabulous stay at The Sandlot House. This was our 3rd time and it did not disappoint! We love the house just as much as we love Cape Charles itself. Always clean, always comfortable, so great for kiddos. Scott and his family are the ultimate hosts and we'll keep returning year after year as long as we can!

Our family members stayed for a long weekend for a family reunion of 55 people. We were fortunate to rent "The Sandlot" with 4 large bedrooms/2 bathrooms it was great but what was exceptional was your large retro kitchen, pantry and dining area - very family friendly and fully stocked-yes fully stocked, many thanks for that! The deck and front porch was delightful, we loved the ceiling fan on the front porch- it was magical sitting out there! The entrance and den area was also great and sat a lot of us for some reminiscing!
As a side note, we had 3 home inspectors among your guests...a couple small things: a outdoor hose sprayer attachment would have been great and also your front porch light was out, fan worked great on the front porch so its probably a bulb.
