This was the perfect spot for 5 friends to spend a long weekend. The house had everything we needed and is in a great location.

We’ve stayed as a family of 5 couples for several years now and this home meets all our needs. Everyone has a bedroom with private bath, close to beach, town and restaurants. Owners are very responsive to any questions. Would highly recommend this home!

We had 7 adults and 3 young children for the stay. The house was perfect and the location was better! 1 Block to a great beach for toddlers and 1 block to restaurants shops etc. Communication and support from property owner was outstanding! Came back from the beach our first day and the outdoor shower was not working properly. Texted owner to make them aware. Within an hour the owner came by and changed the shower heads in both outdoor showers! Did not expect that!! Bottomline on our 4th day there we booked another week for next summer. Entire family voted to stay at Great Excape again. thanks for a wonderful house to have a great vacation in!!

We LOVED the GREAT ESCAPE home. Its so close to the beach, we questioned if we really even needed a golf cart. I almost dont want to tell people how great this house is bc it will get booked before we can decide our week for next year! 4 bedrms+++, all rooms have their own bathroom and AC unit, 3rd level is huge with the biggest bathroom. 3rd level is very nicely air conditioned with plenty of room for lots of kiddos or dog crate! Kitchen is VERY well stocked with everything you need..including a blender and Keurig.

Only concern was some of the kitchenware in the cabinets were not as clean. Otherwise great place to stay and this was our second time in that house

This house had everything we could possibly need for a full week, and the location was even better! The kitchen was well stocked, every bed was comfortable, there was plenty of seating at the dinner table for a large group, and we could walk to anything that we wanted.

This house was so great that within 10 minutes of our arrival, we had rebooked it for next year. I don't know what higher praise there could be than that!

We brought our large family and had a wonderful week in Cape Charles. The owners were very responsive and the house was as described and very accommodating.

This house was the best we have ever stayed at for our family beach trip! The fact that everyone could have their own bathroom and there was a dedicated area for the kids was amazing. Would recommend!

We all loved being in town. Short walk to shops, restaurants, and the bay. The house is lovely with plenty of room for the 9 of us.

Very easy check in. Lovely home for groups- each bdrm has bath. Need a bigger fridge.

This property was exactly as described. It was beautiful! Every room had a bathroom and the third floor was better than described. A whole separate apartment. The location was perfect and the communication with the hosts was great as they were incredibly responsive. Unfortunately, despite keeping doors and windows shut religiously, the inside of the house was full of mosquitos- baby ones too- that we spent a week trying to swat and kill. Ended up at the pediatrician due to literally dozens of bites on my kids (despite DEET, and sleeping in long clothing which they powered and bit through). The hosts were apologetic and explained a heavy rainfall. I understand this is why the outdoor shower was unusable and the beautiful yard was unusable but having them everywhere inside too was a dealbreaker for us. I am not sure what can be done and so only took one star off for this. As an old house without central AC (wall units are super loud but functioned well) something just wasn’t sealed. The kitchen was lovely and full of every gadget imaginable (cheese grater and some cooking stuff that is way above my skill level) but lacked one decent frying pan or skillet where you weren’t eating nonstick surface (maybe we couldn’t find it). Suggest bringing a pan or planning to dine out.

We had no plans for Spring Break and needed a getaway, so decided to head to Cape Charles for a second year in a row and rent this home again. Not disappointed. Such a fun home, great location! We knew that a lot of businesses were still not going to be opened, so we weren't disappointed. We rented golf carts this year - a definite for anyone going to Cape Charles!! The home was great - only complaint was there was a lot of sugar ants in the kitchen. We dealt with them as we best knew how and the end of our stay was ant free. I am sure we will be back again.

Great place to stay and experience Cape Charles! Easy to walk (or bike) to restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. The house was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We loved the front porch and the historic charm.

Absolutely stunning, pictures don’t do it justice. Tall ceilings, well kept and an overall amazing place to stay. We’ll be back for sure!!!

We were in town for my sister in laws wedding and the house was absolutely perfect! We had a blend of family and family friends so the fact that every bedroom had its own bathroom was great! We loved the beautiful front porch and sitting out there chatting. Also very close to the beach and to all the shops and restaurants! We will hopefully rent this lovely home again some day. Thanks again!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. There was plenty of room for everyone and it was well equipped. The neighborhood is so friendly & the house was convenient to all the great shops, restaurants & the beach. We enjoyed spending time on the front porch! Can't wait to go back!!
