A perfect family vacation stay

This property is top notch. Easy access from busy Sellfoss, yet quiet and so relaxing! Plenty of room to cook and dine together with all amenities! We wish we had booked our stay for longer just to be able to enjoy the lake and peaceful surroundings!!

Property was perfect to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Host was easy to access and property incredibly well stocked. Can’t wait to return.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend with 3 other couples; the house exceeded our expectations! You cannot beat the convenient and beautiful location of the lake house. The lake is picturesque and doubles as a cold tip! The hot tub, deck and outdoor fire place were perfect for relaxing after a day spent exploring. The house was well stocked with extra towels, bathrobes and even slippers! The kitchen was stocked with everything you need to make your stay feel like home. This is a place my family and I would love to stay at again!

We stayed here this week for 3 nights and our biggest regret is that we could not stay longer.. It's great for 2 couples except that either it didn't state or I didn't read it clearly, but the full bath for the 2 guest rooms requires you to go outside to reach it. There is a toilet and sink in the one guest room but no shower unless you use the outdoor bathroom. The master has a full bath next to it. Other than that, we loved the location as it was close to restaurants and stores as well as to our hiking excursions. The hot tub was the best thing ever after a long day of hiking. Would definitely come back in the summer when we can take advantage of more of the outdoor space, fire pit, lake, etc. The house is lovely and we were sad to leave.

Our family of 5 stayed in this beautiful lakefront home for 3 nights and we all wish we could have stayed much longer. Everything was exactly as promised, the home is extremely well stocked with everything you may need for your stay, the rooms are spacious, and the views of the lake from the wide back porch are amazing. The four bedrooms are all great - including the fun guest house just next to the incredible hot tub. Finally we can’t thank Signy enough for her hospitality and responsiveness at every step of the way. If we could give 6 stars we certainly would, and if we’re fortunate enough to return to Iceland we will certainly stay here again.

Our six night stay included Christmas and a beautiful snowfall on Christmas eve. What a wonderful place to spend the holiday! We arrived on the solstice and were welcomed by a beautiful sunset, a bevy of swans, and our gracious host, Signy. Overall, we had amazing weather for December and made it out to visit locations in southern Iceland almost every day, including driving east about four hours to Jökulsárlón. We had hoped for a dazzling aurora borealis, but since we didn't see one, we'll cross our fingers for next time. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms were very comfortable, and other amenities were all top notch. The hot tub was delightful and wonderful to soak in after hiking around beautiful Iceland. We stayed five nights at this incredible property and it exceeded all our expectations! The house was just perfect for our party of five adults and one child; we had plenty of space and privacy but loved having a large, open communal area to gather, eat, and relax. Of course a big highlight was the hot tub! We used it each night to recover from our active days of exploring the wonders of Iceland. Even when the weather was cold and windy, we were well-equipped by the owners with plush bathrobes and towels which made the hot tub experience even better. The views are just as depicted in the photos, but even better since you see all kinds of weather and light changes from the house. The lake water is quite frigid so we only dipped our toes in but having that expanse of water to gaze at each day was still worth it. There are many magical touches in the forest around the home, which I will let others discover for themselves. The beds are very comfortable and the house had every amenity we needed for cooking as well as high-end bath products so no need to carry your own from home. The location is perfect for exploring the Golden Circle -- the driving is easy and the many landscapes are almost beyond imagination. We were terribly sad to leave this enchanting home and hope we can return again before long!

We have utilized VRBO on a number of vacations. This is the first where the property was better than the photos. This is a fantastic home we shared with two other couples and it was perfect for our summer vacation. Close to Selfoss and the markets as well as the "Golden Circle." We may have to return for winter to see the Norther Lights. The geothermic pool is fantastic and the lake and beautiful. We'd definitely do this trip again. S & S Carroll

Gorgeous high end home. Location is private but close to everything. Nicest private hot tub we’ve ever been in. Home is very clean and comfortable. High end appliances. Owner was very nice and easy to seal with. Would love to visit this house again.

We stayed at this lovely house with 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids). The house was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The host, Signy, even let us check in early and had a wonderful breakfast ready for us when we arrived. We absolutely loved spending time in the hot tub and even got a glimpse of the northern lights one night. This location is great for short day trips to places like the lava cave, black sand beach, Skogafoss waterfall, blue lagoon, etc. I highly recommend this property!!

The Lakehouse Villa was the perfect place for our adventures in the golden circle and the city. Signey was very responsive and always communicated with us to make us feel at home. The Villa was clean and modern, we were blown away with the views of the lake and mountains. One night we came back from a Northern lights tour empty handed, but upon our arrival back at the lake house, the sky was lit up with the Northern lights! Beautiful villa, beautiful country of Iceland, highly recommend the villa!

Our family had a wonderful time in this house. Loved the heated floor and towel warmers in the bathrooms. We saw the northern lights and one morning had snow on the trees and mountains which made for a picture perfect day. I would recommend this home to anyone who is traveling to Iceland.

The house is even better than in the pictures. Beautiful and well organized. Everything you need for comfort, cooking and luxury. Wonderful towels, beading, toiletries are all supplied. The hot tub is great and the views are outstanding. We had a fire every night and watched the lake and mountains.

Gorgeous location, beautiful well kept house! Very clean. Loved the ropes and slippers! Perfect place for a big family vacation. Signy is very responsive and easy to work with! Loved our Iceland vacation - and hope to come back!

Our family of 7 had a wonderful 4 days here. Signý, the owner, was very responsive. She met us at the house at check in to give us a tour (and an aperitif). The setting is breathtaking. The house itself is decorated beautifully and very nicely appointed. We had everything we could possibly need. Our group used the kayaks to explore the (very shallow, very safe) lake, cooked on the gas grill, and spent lots of time in the infinity hot tub. I wish we didn’t have to leave. Convenient to the Golden circle, easy to find off the ring road, and within 10 min drive to groceries etc. in Selfoss. We are already planning our return trip!

The property was beautiful. Well kept, beautifully furnished, and so many amenities. The owner was wonderful, so accommodating and hospitable. The view of the lake and the hot tub on the patio were amazing! This was truly the perfect place for our vacation!

The home was beautiful and very well located. We had six people in our party and it fit our needs perfectly. The location near the Golden Circle made it very convenient for day trips. I highly recommend staying at this home for your Icelandic trip.
