The property exceeded expectation in so many ways from the view to the birds to the staff to the onsite chef to...the list goes on and on. Carlos was amazing with arrangements and a great resource. If you like indoor/outdoor living in luxury at its best, then VP is for you.

I did extensive research on VRBO before booking 16 people for my husband’s milestone birthday. I’ll spare you a good two hours of research and start my review with the punchline - stop searching and book this place! The home is located about 15 minutes by car from Sayulita on top of a secluded hill. The staff were spectacular and kept our home clean and fully stocked. Carlos (the manager) pre-arranged a grocery shop so we arrived to cold beers and enough food for several days. Carlos was exceptional with his communication and I was never left feeling like our questions (however random) were not addressed. The home is stunning and we are picky! Each room is well kept and there are two master suites. The bugs do come out at night which is to be expected in the jungle. Pack bug spray, you will be fine. Lastly, rent a car. You will want one for town runs or to drive up the big hill following a day at the private beach. Enjoy, and we cannot wait to return!

We were group of 8 traveling to San Pancho for a family reunion and stayed at Villa Papelillos. I’m not sure what i can that hasn’t been said already but this property is stunning!! The setting, the placement on the land and the views of the ocean and tropical forests are amazing !!The home is spectacular and luxurious in its design simplicity. Everything was there that was needed to make our stay comfortable.Carlos was great communicating on a regular basis how our stay was and any issues that arose. Diego,Veronica and Sergio were great.We also had amazing cooked meals by Christina. The villa is outstanding architecturally with everything you would need to make things comfortable.The pool is amazing and a welcome respite after a day either at the beach down the dirt road or the main playa in San Pancho.We loved the town of San Pancho and the many great restaurants it has.The house is off the beaten path down a bumpy dirt road but the destination is well worth it.We never felt the need for the AC and had the open windows to listen to the distant sounds of the ocean and the morning sounds of the birds. I highly recommend this great place!! I’m sure we will be back!!

From the moment we arrived, we were amazed at the beauty, the comfort, and the amazing staff. We woke each morning to either yoga on the roof with amazing views or a walk down to the beach. The beach is private, owned by a nice family, but they allow people to enjoy it, just asking that you are respectful and clean up after yourselves. The pool at the house was wonderful and refreshing. Sitting under the trees and seeing whales was such a treat! We ordered two cook services and the chef service once (all provided by a kind culinary magician named Geronimo). It was really nice to have dinner prepared after a long day of traveling. All the meals were phenomenal, and came with welcome left overs. I suggest you hit the mega grocery store for the many meats, seafood, and other groceries in PV before coming to the house. The local markets are nice, and have some food, but not a ton. We ended up 'not' having a rental car, which worked out well. Carlos had a phone for us to use to call the taxis, and they know where you are. Ended up being cheaper than the rental car, but we would only go into the various towns once a day. The house has everything you need, really comfortable beds, lots of space to be together or catch some alone time. We had 9 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. Carlos, Sergio, Diega, and the rest of the staff was so wonderful, quick to respond to any needs. Highly recommend!

It was absolutely perfect again! We have stayed at Carlos’s place two years prior and knew exactly what to expect. The houses are immaculate, so well designed, comfortable and stylish. The view is to die for. Not many places left like this one on earth! And we do travel a lot... Thank you, Carlos and everyone else making our dream vocation so unforgettable!!

This place is GORGEOUS! Even with the photos provided, we were still blown away when we walked in. Carlos was very helpful and responsive, as were the on-site daily staff in the house. I would highly recommend inquiring about a family-style meal cooked for your guests - it was such a nice way to welcome our guests after a long day of travel. The house itself is very clean and comfortable. It was heavenly to fall asleep with the windows open overlooking the pool and ocean. Several people in our party already sent the property listing off to other friends for future trips!

Incredible stay at Villa Papelillos. Carlos (the home host) was very responsive and accommodated every request we had. I hosted a yoga retreat for 4 days and my guests were so impressed with the location and the home. I do recommend to rent an SUV if you plan to go into town (San Pancho or Sayulita) for groceries, drinks, snacks, etc. The house is very secluded (which worked for my retreat). We hired the cook service for breakfast and the chef for lunch and dinner. Everyone was very professional. Thank you Carlos for finding a masseuse (two actually) on such short notice. They were INCREDIBLE and so sweet. If you're thinking to book this home, DO IT! My recommendations are to book the cook service and/or chef, rent an SUV (for grocery runs and such), book a massage (worth it!) and get a day pass at the beach bungalows down the road to be able to use their kayaks, beach tables and chairs. Oh and if you plan to walk to the beach from the house..I recommend to wear tennis shoes or secured sandals.

The property was stunningly beautiful–even better than the photos. The staff were lovely, kind, gentle and generous, and Carlos the manager was a rock star who helped us plan an utterly memorable week. Love. Love. Love this place. Wonderful energy. 1,000 stars.

I will add another glowing review to the long list. We visited the last week of March 2018. The villa and our experience exceeded my high hopes. It is even more beautiful than the photos reveal. And the photos do not show the surrounding countryside - not another building to be seen, only hillsides, mountains, trees and the Pacific. Also, the beach below is a (nearly private) treasure of its own. The property is safe, clean, and perfect for a large group (we had three multigenerational families). Carlos was very responsive to our needs and questions, Diega and Marisol cooked us excellent meals with warm smiles, and Sergio kept the grounds spotless and answered lots of questions in English when we our poor Spanish failed us. Carlos hired for us a trio of guitarists that sang us Mexican songs one evening. We were glad that we had rented SUVs rather than sedans for the bumpy unpaved road. We had no problem with bugs. Filtered drinking water eliminated that problem. It's close enough to get to neighboring towns if you want. Sunsets viewed from the roof, brilliant stars in a clear sky, plunging into the pool, the rhythmic sound of the surf at night, waking to songbirds in the morning -- Villa Papelillos bathes the soul in beauty and serenity.

We chose this location for it's breathtaking views for our wedding and the Villas did not disappoint! It was a beautiful ceremony! Carlos is right, this is definitely a property for those who love nature and privacy. Nature was certainly present throughout the Villas. They are located in the middle of the jungle, a short (and bumpy) drive from the main road. And I mean jungle. We had some cute little froggies in the shower once. Carlos helped coordinate a three course dinner with an incredibly talented chef, extra tables and chairs for the ceremony, a yoga instructor for a morning class and massages! He was super responsive to emails, and very easy to get a hold of. This is the perfect place for people who go with the flow and just want to lounge around with good company. The house staff live at the entrance to the Villas and are incredibly kind and helpful.

The most stunning place!! The location, the breath taking views, the convenience of it all - everything was just superb! It was an unforgettable experience and I can't thank you enough for it. The place is very well equipped with anything you need! Definitely would recommend and be back. Fresh cut flowers and hand stitched pillows were an amazing touch.

The Villa was beautiful, airy, and very nicely decorated. There was plenty of room and varied common spaces for our group of 16 (though note that there are no showers in the two twin rooms). The casita closest to the pool has a full dining table that seats 16; we requested the cook service for three nights and the food was very tasty, especially the sopes and the tostadas. We sent a shopping list ahead of time and the house was stocked with food, drink, and more (sunscreen, bug spray, etc. - there's a Costco in PVR) when we arrived. Carlos was fantastic, very responsive, friendly, and clear. He even found and booked an excellent mariachi band to perform at the house for us. One of the best parts of our stay was the access to the beach. It's down a steep, unpaved road just past the entrance to the house, and there were only a few other people there each time we went. By far the best beach we went to in the area (though the waves can get rough and aren't good for surfing) - just gorgeous. Can't say enough about how much we loved our stay. I selected Villa Papelillos as my 30th birthday destination and along came 10 of my closest friends. I planned the entire trip and worked directly with Carlos the property manager. He was absolutely amazing and helpful in every way possible. It was my first time booking a house in Mexico and not staying at a resort but I felt that his service, hospitality and promptness was equivalent to a 5-star resort concierge. Any request I tossed at him, he helped execute with no problems and within less than 24 hours! The house itself is very secluded about a 10 minute drive off the beaten path. The nearest town is San Pancho but Sayulita and Punta Mita are a short 30 minute drive away. Other than there being a lot of bugs (which what can you do if you're in the Jungle in Mexico!) it was absolutely perfect. All the meals cooked by Flor was beyond delicious and we had a special Mezcal tasting and chef dinner which was a memorable experience. I had a great time celebrating my 30th birthday here. My only comment to other guests would be to bring bug spray! and try to have all of our meals prepared so you really can relax and enjoy your stay. I am really glad that we selected all the meals and had them prepared so that was one less thing to worry about. Also Flor makes the best margaritas. There is so much fresh fruit in this town that you must indulge in some of her fresh Mango Margaritas! Thank you again to Carlos, Flor, Deiga and the rest of the Villa Papelillos staff.

Carlos and his team were fantastic and made our stay truly amazing. The property was perfect for our group of 14 girls on a getaway. Carlos's meals and Enrique's rooftop yoga class were highlights of the trip. The only bad part of our trip was having to leave - we are already plotting our return as soon as possible!

Villa Papelillos was everything I thought it would be a and more. I have stayed in multiple places in this area and this is by far my favorite. The villas are perfect for multiple families. We were traveling with another family and a single and we all had plenty of quite and privacy while also having perfect communal spaces. The two villas are nestled in the jungle overlooking the ocean and it is so peaceful to wake up to the sounds of the waves and birds. Each villa comes equipped with a full kitchen with nice gas burning stove and stainless steel appliances. All of the furniture and bedding is clean and bright and exactly as pictured. The upstairs have two rooms with king beds the middle ground has the kitchen and living room and access to the pool and the floor under that opens to the jungle and has a room with king bed and a room with two single beds. ALL of the rooms have their own bathrooms which is soooo nice. The villas also have filtered water throughout so, you do not have to be concerned about drinking or cooking with it. Its about 5 mins past San Pancho and so you are close to town but away from all the noise. Carlos and his staff were amazing. We arrived late in the night with tired babies and they had done all our grocery shopping and had an amazing dinner prepared for us. It was by far the best meal we had on our vacation. We wish we would of arranged for two or three more meals and skipped eating in town a few times. Carlos speaks perfect english and responded so quickly to all of our inquiries. Our last day we arranged for a massage at the villa which again exceeded expectations and was so reasonably priced. The massage table was positioned outside and it was so relaxing to hear the ocean in background. The villa sits up on hill/mountain and is a good 15 degrees cooler than in town so we never had to use the air our entire trip. It was really important for me to be able to find a place that we could let two one year olds roam and play without being completely stressed out that there were going to hurt themselves. The villas are perfect for families. The doors to the stairs close so we never had to chase them up and down them and the back doors open to a small patio and then soft grass. Because of the open design it was easy to keep an eye on them from anywhere which allowed us to really relax. The rooms also have really good insulation and both of our babies napped and slept through us visiting and hanging by the pool. We will be back!

We had an amaizng time this summer. The house was even more beautiful in real as we did not expect such an amaizing view on the ocean. On top of that superb desert jungle beach down the house. This is the perfect place to enjoy a great time with a bunch of friends and party (no neighbors) :) The staff and Luis in particular are really helpful and profesional.

We absolutely loved our experience at Villa Papelillos! It was serene and majestic. This is a property that is off the beaten path and best for those who enjoy a quite and tranquil setting. The property itself was inmaculate and came with everything we needed for a week. Carlos, Vicente and Diega helped make our stay one of the best vacations we've ever had.

We have spent a fantastic time in Villa Papelillos. Carlos was a great host, very professional and helpful and his cooking was really good, the staff working with him is also efficient and friendly. the Villa is extremely well looked after and very confortable, the view over the sea and the forest is amazing. Enjoying the pool sipping a Pina Colada is of course a must. The villa is located in the middle of the forest and is therefore extremely quiet, at night you can enjoy great star watching on the roof terrace. Since it is quite secluded you will need a car to move around and enjoy the villages around. I would strongly recomend this villa for anyone looking for great amenities,, very quiet atmosphere and good, discreet service.

Best vacation we've ever had. Exquisit home, very comfortable, airy, lots of privacy if that's your thing. Carlos, Diega & Vicente, the chef/house keeper/caretaker, are incredibly sweet, friendly people. The delicious authentic cuisine was over-the-top good...everything very fresh. Incredible guacamole, salsa, ceviche (shrimp & Mahi), the best mole in the world (you have to request it), best green and red sauce, simply delicious. Weather was perfect everyday. The pool is perfect and the views are spectacular. Sunrise and sunset from the roof. Fresh coconut from one of the trees nearby. I can't say enough good things about our trip and about the experience at the house. Overall an incredibly fabulous stay. Thanks you very much for everything I wish I could come more often!

We took our kids (12 and 10) plus a friend with us for spring break to the Villa and had an amazing time. Carlos who is a partner in the building (I think) and who also was our chef took truly excellent care of us, starting with meeting us at the airport and helping us get our car rented, etc. He is fluent in English, has worked in high end restaurants and is a foodie- so he both understands what really good service looks like AND he is a fantastic chef. His mole was the best i have ever had by far. Also, Vincent who is the local caretaker, is super nice, very capable and speaks decent english as well The house itself is gorgeous with lots of open spaces and great unobstructed views. If you do yoga, bring a yoga mat for dawn yoga practice on the flat roof. Lots to do in the surrounding area as well: snorkeling, spearfishing, surfing, good restaurants, some hiking, and vegging by the pool too, of course Great place for families or a group of friends too. Definitely recommended

If you want to totally disappear and find yourself totally enveloped by nature and beauty. This is the place to be. The setting and views are incredible and the two structures that define the compound could not be more peaceful and beautiful. It is a small property until you look out to the sea and forest. You will feel that you are the only person on the entire planet. The host is just and incredible and he is a excellent chef as well. The staff is well trained and the accommodation are clean and peacefully designed. If you are looking to escape everything...this is the place for you. Close by is a beautiful beach and an the gardener of the property is also a guide a the local orchid garden. Thanks to everyone that made my stay so very beautiful. I look forward to returning very soon.

Truly, the house and it's staff are exquisite. The pictures do not lie. It is everything you see on vrbo and more! Carlos and Vicente were so attentive to our needs. The property is incredibly well mantained. The staff does a marvelous job, truly caring and hardworkes. You can be sure they will try to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The views form every corner of this property are absolutely AMAZING!!! This is a property that can't be missed if you are really looking to experience the jungle in style and great comfort. A perfect combination between comfort and beauty. Pictures don't do justice to this property. Perfect place for big family gatherings. Big lap pool with a separate kids area. This property offers to the guest a lifetime experience, it is very secluded and at the same time it is just 10 minutes away from fine dining and San Pancho's charming town life. Please consider to rent a car if you are staying here as the distances are not walkable. There are two absolutely stunning beaches down the road, about 10 to 15 minutes walking, it depends whether you are going down the beach or up back to the villa. The staff will provide you with anything you need to make yourself comfortable while you spend a beach day. They have cold bags, towels, blankets and chairs. Definitely a property I would recomend to friends and family. This is quite an experience!
