Walk ways very slippery and not enough attention paid to keep them from falling down…

Breakfast at Market cafe was very good. Lots of choices, fresh fruit that was the best I've had in years! The staff was very attentive and always available
I liked the entire experience. However, some of the salespeople selling memberships were too aggressive..

The resort was absolutely beautiful and the staff were amazing. We will definitely be visiting Secrets again!
The only thing we did not like was the Mexican cuisine restaurant. The service was not great and neither was the food. Total let down for us.

I loved the room and amenities. I so enjoyed the pool exercises and the staff taught such fun challenging classes. The staff from Carlos to Juan were so amazing. The staff were so sweet and hard working!!
The only thing I thought could be better was more music and especially at a later hour than 10pm. I would have liked to see more entertainment and not so much shows but music.

The entire staff of Secrets were very helpful and made me feel like a VIP. They put a smile on my face all day for 7 days!
Rooms need to be updated. Shower door needs to be fixed.

The property was very nice. The rooms are nice and the food was good in comparison to other resorts where I have stayed.
The property was very loud. I was expecting more of a spa like environment and it was definitely more of a frat party. There were always people shouting, music blaring, and yelling in the halls and slamming of doors. We had a Jr. Suite with a swim out and I couldn’t get over the noise. If a party atmosphere is what you’re looking for this is the place for you. Also unexpected was the hard sell upon arrival for a “Welcome Breakfast “ to go over all the Secrets properties worldwide. However, “no” was not acceptable and was it was an overly aggressive checkin. It was a timeshare push at check-in. It was not a great start. So be warned…

Good location. Long walkable beach but lots of rocks which is typical for this part of Mexico. Best food compared to any of the resorts or cruise lines we frequent. Secrets makes it easy to stay away from the families with children at Dreams if you prefer. Capers, the Italian restaurant, makes excellent lasagne similar to what we had in Florence. Oceana restaurant has perfectly prepared mahi mahi for lunch. Bordeaux the French restaurant was our fav. Can be an hour wait however. Their Salads and mains were terrific. Bernardo, the charming ice cream shop manager, makes spectacular crepe and ice cream deserts. He's unstoppable! Edgar is a fantastic concierge. Always very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. All waiters and workers at Secrets went out of their way to make it a great vacation. Rooms and balconies are nice size and sound proof. Bed was super comfortable. Our room's furniture was worn but the comparatively low rates reflect that. Great value all-in-all. Entertainment was ok but we loved the Mardi Gras party. Tai Chia on the beach in the morning will be something I will never forget. Can walk to downtown PV which is a special place.

Unfortunately, my boyfriend got food poisoning from one of the restaurants when he ate seafood. As a result we couldn’t take full advantage of the all inclusive.

Second stay at the Secrets in Puerto Vallarta.
Opted for 3 rooms in the preferred tower and enjoyed the additional amenities – faster check in without timeshare hassle, a dedicated lounge with small buffet that is right on the walkway to the elevator and quite convenient.
Excellent service from our butler, Carlos Miranda, and his partner Jose Becera. We saw Carlos many times throughout the day and he was consistently checking to make sure everything was going well and helped us out with all of our questions.
There is entertainment every night in the lobby bar which engages the guests with singing and dancing. I also like that the hotel is showcasing local bands.
This unique offering is one of the best features of the hotel and extremely popular with all of the guests.
Also bigger shows in the amphitheatre almost every night.
Secrets is adult only and has a benefit of being able to use the restaurants on the dream side. Reservations only required at the Teppanyaki restaurant and usually available somewhere on the property, Especially if you ate at 7 pm or earlier or after about 815.
Food quality excellent at all restaurants and lots of fresh options at buffet.
Bartenders will serve top shelf liquor and make any variety of drinks. The adult swim up bar is pleasant because the kids are on the other side.
Lots of fun activities throughout the day about every half hour to hour or something is going on beer water volleyball, yoga, fishing, ping-pong.
Usually lounge chairs available and can request from staff if nothing was available. Only limited one day because a reception was right on the pool deck.
The beach access has some rocky areas. Might bring water shoes next time.

Beautiful resort, well designed and comfortable rooms, clean, the pools and grounds are well maintained. The employees are friendly and courteous.
Limited food options for guests with dietary restrictions. Lot’s of deep fried and high sugary food options and not enough healthy plant-based options. If you are dairy and gluten intolerant, the options are also very limited.
Regular upsells solicitations. When booking a 4 Diamond resort, we are looking for the ultimate peace of mind, without been regularly asked to either attend the “membership sales” presentation, get massages at the spa, book extra activities, etc.

Breakfast was good! Lots of assortment of different types of food. Everything we tried was fresh. The staff was friendly. Adult beverages were strong and the staff kept them coming! We did enjoy the different lunch and dinner options. For being an adults-only resort, we felt there was a lack of entertainment during the day and nightly entertainment was ok but was lacking Friday - Saturday.
We didn't like that upon check-in we were approached by a time-share representation (aka Loyalty program) to set-up a meeting while we are on short vacation. First, there were issues with our reservation, we booked preferred club. No one at the reception mentioned the amenities of booking preferred. Second, we were "upgraded" to the penthouse floor. Let's be clear, this was not an upgrade. We were on the top floor of the oldest part of the hotel. The floor was called preferred club, but there was nothing that made it feel that way. There was a desk when you walked up and a small area with a book shelf and bottled water at room temperature, and hot champagne. There was a fridge next to the stair way that held cold drinks. The butler in charge of the floor was only there for 30min the whole time during our stay. Our friends mentioned that there was a preferred club section that we had access to. Had they not mentioned it we wouldn't have known. Also, we all booked massages before we arrived and all our friends were aware of the hydro therapy session before their massages but we did not receive the same treatment beforehand. We didn't think to ask because we didn't know we had to ask. Overall, the hotel is ok, there are sections of the hotel that are new and others that are older.

I picked this hotel for my post-covid honeymoon because I know Secrets is a reputable all-inclusive brand. Plus, it's in the city, which makes exploring very easy to do by Uber or Taxi. We received a free room upgrade with a plunge pool on the balcony that was FABULOUS. The room was huge and well kept. We had an ocean view and got to see the whales in the bay. Food was amazing at every location. Service was wonderful with everyone being extremely helpful. Literally loved almost everything about this resort.
We paid for the upgraded club membership, but didn't get much help from our concierge. He couldn't get us seats by the pool and in facet we only saw him twice. Nighttime entertainment was lacking, but there were some special events. Would have loved to have liquor bottles in the room. Getting a pool chair was an issue every day.

Breakfast was good but crowded. We were in the preferred club so we usually just grabbed a quick breakfast in the small club buffet and avoided the long lines and excess people at the larger breakfast area! You can also order room service instead
We do not normally travel to all-inclusive and we found the "service" to be a little over the top. We do not like to be waited on hand-and-foot. We felt a bit exploitative. However, the pressure to do the timeshare breakfast meeting was REDICULOUS! We were told that it was just an invitation and was not mandatory but the receptionist tried to not let us leave the property!!! Who does that? Do not sign anything no matter what they say or they may hold YOU against your will too!

The food was amazing! We enjoyed having dinner at the different restaurants each night. We also loved that the location was close to the boardwalk and church/downtown area. The facilities and location were beautiful and we enjoyed watching the sunsets from our balcony.
I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. We upgraded to a preferred suite, and the jacuzzi was too dirty to use. The gym floor was also filthy. I also thought the beds and pillows were super lumpy and uncomfortable.

I used the spa and it was great. Services were wonderful and staff were great. I had a deep massage with Zuleika and a wrap with Zarahi and they were both excellent. Other spa staff were also wonderful Evelyn, Zumara & Efumia.
At the lobby bar Eduardo, Ivan, Caesar, Sergio and Jesus took good care of us. Adrian and Ricardo at the market place restaurant were very attentive and helpful. Mac at the reception was great. Bryan reception supervisor was patient with me when I had an issue while checking in but everything was resolved and great. Antonio at the concierge was extremely helpful when we had questions about our COVID tests and My Favorite was Rocio Otto at the concierge. She was one energetic and enthusiastic person. Last but not least our room attendant was more the pleasant.
The room was spacious and we enjoyed our stay. The whole staff was helpful attentive and wonderful Thank you All !

the food was pretty good for an all inclusive
it was over the top expensive and so noisy every night that you couldn’t think about sleeping before 11pm

The place was very clean. The staff was very pleasant and fun to chat with. Everything we asked for was accommodated.
The food, with the exception of the Chefs Table, was not good - overwhelmingly! French restaurant was awful, Oceania Restaurant was terrible. No meal was served hot! Not one. With the exception of French fries by the pool. Also all staff fine the issue we had was with their vendor who took advantage of us, and wouldn't even give a partial refund. And they try to get you to purchase a membership to all resorts. Totally NOT okay

The hotel needs a makeover asap! It’s truly falling apart. The food was really not great. Watered down drinks… it was not at all what I expected.

I really liked the food. Oceania, Italian and French restaurants were really nice. Good to have healthy options at the buffets - loved the sushi, ceviche, omelettes, crepes and smoothies. Gym was well equipped. Nice having tennis with a tennis coach. Beautiful beach setting, and amazing sunset view. Fairly quick by taxi into town, and also walkable too.
Too many light switches in the room - a bit confusing. Also, no snacks with drinks in the reception bar - it’d be nice to get a small bowl of pretzels or crisps with your drinks. It’d be great if the hotel could think how to be more sustainable at times - we went through so many plastic water bottles during the week.
