The property is truly pet friendly with a good fence all around a huge yard with a great lawn for the dogs to play on. The fence will keep even very small dogs safely inside the yard. Even the gate is secure once it is closed. The property is well kept. The linen and towels are perfectly clean and brightly white. The friendliest, most efficient, warmly welcoming host we have met in years received us. Hospitality galore. We truly felt welcome. Like visiting grandma. There was enough clean hot water for all, our bathroom was spacious and the room had enough space. There is airconditioning to cool the room. During the night no airconditioning was needed. The night was comfortably cool with windows that can open and mosquito frames that can be closed. The kitchen and dining room are well stocked with enough of everything needed for all guests. It is an establishment well run and well organised.

Using a room with a private bathroom in a huge house with other rooms filled with other guests, albeit all very well-mannered, friendly and neat, cleaning up after themselves, was a first for us. Preparing supper was great, meeting some of the other guests, having a lovely chat, sharing travelling experiences, was pleasant. However, we went without a late night cup of tea, not wanting to disturb other travellers' sleep. The house is antique and the passage floor squeeks a bit. Our two small doggies, well socialised and normally very friendly and playful didn't get along with the other guests' dogs as they were tired and irritated. Once rested, the situation improved but was still a bit stressful. Other guests' children were scared of dogs. Our dogs badly needed a free run. That had to wait until all the children and dogs were inside tjeir own rooms. At last our doggies got their much needed free run. All went better after a night's rest. We are not used to such a setup, but looking back, without the dogs and their free running needs and peculiar tempers when tired, it would have been a very pleasant experience. We might do that again in future, just for fun.

Quiet and peaceful, wood is available for a braai. Beautiful old Homestead, off the road.

Directions a little confusing.

. Very close to town. There's a hiking/biking trail at Pienaars Kloof, on the farm Try to keep some extra money for the extras that the farm offers. The tequila tasting and agave alcohol tasting was fun and informative. Fantastic kitchen and excellent free coffee and the swimming area was very inviting.

Don't have TV. Lots of load shedding/ electricity shutdown when I was there.

The rooms were comfortable.

The warm water was limited.

Martin made us feel very welcome on arrival and checked. The Karoo farm experience was exceptional, with lovely surroundings, stars like nowhere else and great braai facilities. Lovely rooms and comfortable bedding made for a good night's sleep.

Very relaxing and peaceful. Felt very safe. Facilities are very rustic old farmhouse style but modern appliances and bedding/linen.

Transit travellers in other rooms who left early in the morning...next time we would consider coming with a bigger group and possibly taking the whole house...

We had a wonderful overnight stay and only wish we could have arrived earlier to have made use of the braai facilities. Lovely location for respite on the way back to Johannesburg.

Lovely stay - make sure you get a room with en-suite bathroom. Otherwise it was great. Also note that the bed are very high off the ground.

Very clean old style farm house.

Nothing in particular. If you want TV, I did not see one. We however did not need one.

The very quaint setting, old schol real farmhouse was wonderful, the host was exceptionally friendly and we were welcomed. Loved the traditional decor, we saw a large buck in the early morning too, right at the fence. It was lovely to be so out of town.

We missed /misunderstood a small note that no food option was avaibale. So we were without dinner or breakfast, which was sad. Our last minute booking also had us in a room that had our bathroom down the passage, which made us uncomfortable, but it was very clean. It was not a huge problem, just not one I would opt for.
