Breakfast and evening meal was excellent
Location couldn't have been better for the "Tarr Steps" walk we went for
Lovely cosy pub, log fires with excellent rooms, very clean and tidy
They put the football on especially for us
We thought the pub started to close up a little early. 22.30 on a Saturday night.
The pub was quiet and we were probably ready for bed anyway

Excellent room with everything that you need for a stay with a really comfortable bed.
Evening meal in the bar was great and a good choice of real ales!
Breakfast was awesome - wide choice, beautifully cooked and served with a smile. Best full English I’ve had in a long time!
We were promised robes & slippers but they didn’t materialise - not a major problem though.

Breakfast fabulous, quiet location,lovely village. Idyllic.
Some of the decor was a little dated & lacking in maintenance. Carpet burned by a previous client with iron. I guess we're not used to paying £150 pn B&B in a pub. But the stay was very enjoyable & staff excellent and welcoming.

The location of the Royal Oak Inn is superb, just up from a lovely tea room on the river in a lovely village. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and everybody made a fuss of the dog, which she loved. Fantastic breakfast!
We had two steaks and didn't feel our evening meal was great value for the price. On reflection the burgers looked nice and would have been a better bet. We had a nice dog-friendly room and the bed was very comfortable but these days we would expect a better shower experience than a Triton shower over the bath. I realise it's a tough trading environment but a bit more investment is needed.

Warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere, superb dinner, even more superb breakfast, comfy, spacious rooms. Tracy and team went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience.
We couldn't park in the pub car park but this wasn't an issue for us (The car park isn't very big)

Location was perfect! I enjoyed the sound of the birds and insects and following water not too far away ather than traffic. It was very quiet.

It is a very welcoming, family run pub/restaurant/hotel in a really quiet village in the heart of Exmoor. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly.

This B and B is lovely, we only stayed one night but we would definitely go back. The staff were amazing, so accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was lovely, very clean and had everything we needed. We had breakfast there which was amazing, lots of choice and good sized portions. Nothing bad to say at all and we'll definitely revisit.

The room was beautiful and the breakfast was fine. The pub is in a nice location and we enjoyed a nice stroll after dinner. The ensuite room was lovely and clean.
One of our meals was served cold, but this was corrected immediately. Generally I thought the food was a little overpriced for what it was, but all tasted fine.
