Staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Continental breakfast was excellent - with real coffee! Hotel is quirky and full of character in a beautiful location. I visited last year and notice that the hotel is being refurbished with good results so far.

Shower was a bit weak and there was a dead spider in the basin. The first room that we were shown had a very noisy extractor fan which was offputting.

The location of the hotel is superb in the centre of the village close to all amenities and shops. Wivey pool was only a short walk away. The members of staff I managed to make contact with were helpful when asked but they generally seemed preoccupied with the restaurant and bar. This hotel was recently taken on by new owners so some leeway must be given. Free WiFi was great especially as I was surprised they could get it to work in the Warren of rooms.

My room at the top of some very steep and awkward stairs was very dated, the decorating was uneven and faults had obviously been plastered over. The shower over bath was pretty dangerous as there were no grab handles and the surface of the bath could be very slippery. Also only a curtain and rail. When I arrived in the late afternoon of my first day the staff seemed more interested on a wake that was to take place in the restaurant imminently. As I mentioned the stairs were very steep and no one offered to help with luggage. On getting up next morning I made myself a cup of coffee only to discover there was no milk in the complimentary tea/coffee supplies. There is much work to do to bring the building-old as it is upto tip top condition.

The bed was comfy. Very tidy, clean room.

It wasn't said that breakfast on Saturday finishes at 9am ! I was told that breakfast is between 7.30 to 10am. I was left without breakfast. The room was above the bar so I could hear very clear people outside until the pub was closed..

Friendly staff all willing to chat. Ideal breakfast - continental only - who needs any more for a healthy life?

In our 8th Decade, we would have preferred not to have to climb so many stairs up and down to the bathroom !!! BUT we managed thank you very much!

lovely place to stay and the meal we had one evening was delicious.

I think it is about to have renovation work done the bathroom was old and in need of repairs. the food is really fabulous from the menu but we were disappointed with continental breakfast. Not much to choose from at all.

The staff were fantastic able to accommodate celiac gluten-free diet changing recipes as needed. Room cleaned every day Very, very dog friendly. Even in the bar

No hair dryer, not a big deal.

Bed was really comfortable - The meal in the restaurant was to die for. The new decor and furniture in the restaurant and bar brightened the whole place up. Look forward to see what they do when they refurbish the bedrooms.

The builders using the car park access should fill in the potholes, was lucky not to damage our car.

the rooms were very tired & in need of decorating. The place was like a rabbit warren & steps all over the place… even steps in the bathroom… could be quite dangerous! The carpark had quite a dangerous pothole in it which really needed filling in.

Shower pressure wasn't brilliant - but it's an old building and we were on the 2nd floor.

The shower was so slow, and the floor slippery. Could have done with a mat to step onto by the shower. Only saw check in person when it opened . Arrived early, hoping to get a drink and relax in the bar, but it was closed . Not advised of this

Friendly staff good central location

A draft from a poorly fitting window in room 5 made the room quite cold.

Comfortable room and good tea/coffee facilities. Very spacious.

Unfortunately very noisy so I struggled to sleep both nights. Noise from people leaving the pub and the pub across the road and also creaky floorboards up and down the corridors so people walking up and down between 1 & 3am kept us awake.

Staff were nice hotel was clean
