East Indies Mansion was a very beautifully decorated & rustic hotel. Cosy, well maintained, very clean & spacious. It’s not your typical modern hotel with pool & gym/tv etc, but if you are looking for a unique experience - staying in a home away from your home - you should come to East Indies. There are many comfy cosy spots n sofas on the ground level u can lounge in on rainy days or days when u just wish to relax out of your room! The central kitchen has tea coffee n snacks u could help yourselves too & you can also bring back your own food & eat in the comfort of the hotel kitchen- almost like your own private dining area- v shiok! The people there - esp Aitee - were super friendly warm helpful & attentive to our needs :) Aitee would give recommendations on where we can go & was very fun to chat with :))) Location also was very near hot spots like Armenian street n nearby theres great food spots bingsu, ciao ice cream, spicy nasi lemak, durian carts, etc etc etc…

I think if there were less / better constructed steps from the room to the toilet would be good. Hence not suitable for elderly or mobility impaired - but other than that, it’s a 10/10 for me!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Even when there was the occasional hiccup they were quick to troubleshoot. Ai Tee gave us some very good suggestions about where to go. Our room was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Very quirky decor that gave it a homely touch. We enjoyed being able to bring our takeout dinner and have it in the comfort of the hotel dining room. I'm a vegetarian and it was great having Woodlands restaurant around the corner

The water heater in our room malfunctioned so we couldn't have warm or hot showers. We were given access to an alternative bathroom across the terrace.

1. The staffs here are really kind and supportive! They gave us a lot of local spots/cuisines list which were definitely helpful! 2. The architecture looks amazing love the old town historical atmosphere 3. Close to love lane, Chou Jetty and Mansion museum, etc. you can really enjoy the city walk.

The property is stunning and built around two beautiful internal courtyards. It is an oasis of calm.

Very nicely renovated historic building with lots of space and amenities. Top location very convenient for walking to great restaurants and bars.

The property is well located within the heritage old town. It’s very easy and convenient to find somewhere to eat or just enjoy. The staff are just wonderful. Ai Tee and Kanmani are always available and always willing to help or advise with a smile. Nothing is ever too much for them. They also have a partnership with a very knowledgeable tour guide called Joann. She will help you to know Georgetown with great details as you arrive. The rooms and the property itself is always impeccably clean. The property itself is a heritage Chinese mansion and this is itself a good enough reason to visit East Indies mansions. We enjoyed the breakfast on a couple of mornings and they were great. They offered local dishes and explained what they were, their origin or importance in the local community. We also felt immediately welcomed by an afternoon tea and a delicious nutmeg juice. Not only will we go there again when we visit Penang again, I will also make sure I recommend east India mansions to my friends, colleagues and clients.
