Sun Green Cottage in Sigiriya offers a wonderful stay with super friendly hosts who provide excellent local tips. The breakfast and dinner feature delicious, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine, and the cozy accommodation includes spacious, air-conditioned rooms with terraces. Additionally, the location is perfect, with a supermarket and cafes within walking distance.
However, some information on booking is misleading: dinner was a little bit higher, there is no lunch option, and currently, only cash payments are accepted.

We stayed in one of the tree house cabins and loved it! The place is simple but it has everything you need. It is located in a beautiful garden, right next to a lake. You can find all sorts of animals there. But the best part of our stay was the kindness of the host family. They went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. They gave very helpful recommendations and even drove us to a hike early in the morning. Thank you for everything!

The host was fantastic! Such a nice and genuine guy he took us to Sigiriya rock and back. He was always helping out guests and showing them around the area. The Sri Lankan style breakfast was amazing and freshly prepared, just let them know what time you want breakfast as its not a buffet style. Also regarding our specific room, there were 2 beds, a large one and a small one. Only the big bed was made with sheets as there were only 2 of us. Just let the host know in advance if you want both beds to be made. It was fine for us though.
The accommodation is in a beautiful location, with wildlife all around. There are some nice small roadside shops and restaurants nearby too.
The host put us in touch with a good friend of his to drive us to our next stop, Kandy via Dambulla, allowing us to stop off at some tourist attractions along the way. Shout out to Kelum for being an amazing driver (despite that not being his job)! I would definitely recommend staying here :)
The WiFi didn't really work. But we didn't mention it, so maybe it just needed a reset. We were fine without it. If you're coming to Sri Lanka you should get a local sim card with data and it should be fine.

The owners were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They organized a lot of things for us which made our 2 days there a real highlight of the trip.
The room was very clean, peaceful, had everything we could ask for. Breakfast on a small terrace.

Es war wunderbar! Unser erster stop in Srilanka und ich hätte es mir nicht besser vorstellen können. Wir wurden jeden Tag von der Mutter des Besitzers bekocht. Haben Hilfe bei der Planung des Aufenthalts bekommen, die besten Tipps erhalten. Und nach aufregenden Tagen hat es sich angefühlt wie zurück nach Hause zu kommen. Danke für diese schöne Zeit! :-)

De eigenaren (twee broers) zijn ontzettend aardig en gastvrij! De kamers zijn groot, schoon en een fijn bed. Het diner is super lekker, het ontbijt fantastisch! Kortom, perfecte locatie voor Sigiriya!!

10/10! Sehr zu empfehlen! Gastgeber sind sehr hilfreich und organisieren Touren, Safari, TukTuk und Weiterfahrt. Typisches, leckeres Frühstück, Lage an einem See und auf Wunsch hausgemachtes Abendessen von der Mutter (sehr zu empfehlen)!

Petite structure de 2 bungalows en dur et 1 cabane en bois.
Les bungalows disposent d'une climatisation, mais pas la cabane.
Avec vue sur l'étang de Sigiriya.
Promoth et son frère sont très serviables (ils nous ont emmené diner avec leur tuk-tuk pour nous éviter de marcher de nuit)
Pas de service de restauration (à part le petit-déjeuner), ce qui oblige à sortir. Mais la petite taille de la structure ne le permet pas non plus (pas assez de clients pour être rentable)

It is a quiet and an amazing place to stay. The owner is super nice and helpful the breakfast is amazing and it is an absolute value for money.
Had amazing time there also it’s super close to sigirya Lion rock.

Amazing hosts, amazing food. Surrounded by nature. I cannot recommend this place enough if you come to Sigirya.
Everything was arranged for us, we slept like kings and ate all sorts of beautiful dishes.

Great location in beauriful Sigiriya. Lots of Natur and a super nice host. We saw lots of peacocks. They also serve traditional Breakfast with fruits from the garden. :)

Our stay was amazing! We loved the tree house. The place is very piece calm and quiet, surrounded by the beautiful nature. Perfect for relaxing after very intensive days. The homemade food was delicious, and our host was giving us amazing and honest tips and advices whenever we asked. He also arranged the trip to Polonnaruwa with his tuk tuk for us, which was a great trip. He also took us to another places in the area, and the prices were very reasonable. He arranged the laundry service for us as well. You can tell that he’s doing everything for the guests to feel comfortable!
If you’re very sensitive with the sounds during the night, maybe it’s better for you to pick the normal house, not the tree house. We are not used to it and we were waking up a lot because of the unknown sounds (nonetheless it’s actually quite nice and I would pick the tree house again because we loved it anyway). Also we’ve had some ants in the bathroom that were coming to our bed and I think they were biting.

We had a really nice stay in the beautiful ‘treehouse’ in a pretty garden (you will see fireflies at night and birds during the day). Pramoth arranged everything for us: safari, tuktuk to the town centre, trip to the Lion Rock, trip to Polonnaruwa and transport to Nilaveli. Also the food from the family is good, you can not choose from a menu, so it’s a nice surprise. Super super good value for the price.
The sheets and mosquito net had some stains from dead insects.

The owner and his resort are extremely welcoming and positive. It is located directly next to a lake in the green nature with elephants around. The food is amazing. The owner will take care of your needs, advice you with a lot of background knowledge but doesn't push you to follow his recommendations. The room is very big, clean and has an amazing terrace, where you can sit for hours and look into the beautiful nature.

Great host, very helpful to give recommendations and book tours. Great food made by the mother of the family. It was nice that you could choose to eat lunch and dinner in the little restaurant of the place with the beautiful jungle and like view. Very good value for money!

What a delightful stay at the Sungreen tree house! I stayed for two nights and the owner organised absolutely everything for me: all yummy meals, a wonderful safari experience and endless tuk tuk rides for late night ATM runs or early morning Lions Rock trips! Didn’t feel like I had to lift a finger. The treehouse is an awesome experience with tonnes of wildlife around including wild monkeys. A walk next to the nearby lake is also a great way to start the day. Would definitely recommend to any friends visiting!

Very cozy and private cottages, good working ac, clean bathroom and amazing food which was always a lot and in different varieties. We also had lovely talks with the owner Pramoth. He is the most friendly person you can ever imagine and he helped us with everything. He answered heaps of our questions and organized our laundry and some activities. We felt more than welcome with him and his family.
Around the corner is a lovely lake for some nice evening walks.
This place is a real gem! We can’t recommend it enough!
The internet didn’t always work in my favour, but it is perfect to enjoy a little time offline. And Pramoth did always immediately take care of any issues.

Super nice place to stay. Very lovely inside the nature with a Great Lake view and a very clean and beautiful garden.
The cottage was very clean, with mosquito nets and AC.
The food cooked by the mama was so good! Just organic and very very tasty! But best was the host, Pramoth! Such a friendly and lovely person. He cared about us all the time and organised us a really spectacular safari by his friend.

We had the best time at the Sungreen Cottage thanks to our host. He helped us by giving us good advice for our trip and drove us with his tuktuk to the Sigiriya rock. The room was also very pleasant, simple but clean and nice. The garden is marvelous.

great location right near lion rock as well as a couple of restaurants/shops. In a beautiful garden which makes you feel right in nature! apparently during rice season you can see wild elephants walk across the field behind! The rooms were very spacious and clean with mosquito nets! The host was lovely and very helpful and even has his own tuktuk to offer lifts for a cost. The Sri Lankan breakfast home made by his mum was also amazing - would definitely recommend !!

Sungreen cottage is situated in a beautiful, peacefull environment. Our cabin was surrounded by beautiful nature, on the balcony we could spot many birds and squirrels. The cabin itself is wonderfull as well, spacious and a very good bed. The host is very friendly and passionate about his place. He brought us to Pidurangala Rock and Dambulla himself. And the food we had was very tasty too. Would really recommend this place.

Pramoth instantly made me feel welcome. He helped me with everything, thinking out my plan. He organized pidurangala, the local tour and dambulla for me. Breakfast is incredible and it's very peaceful at sungreen

This was hands down the most delightful and stunning two days of our 1 month stay in Sri Lanka. Pramoth is the best host, his smile is infectious, he assisted us in so many ways. He was always available, he helped organise a massage as l had hurt my back, then took my friend to the doctors at night, then the next day to the hospital. He is lovely to talk too, he is the most mature 25 year old, this place is his vision & he completely built the tree house himself. The gardens are stunning with fruit trees & perennials. The rear of the garden looks out onto a lake. The breakfast and dinner both days cooked by his mum was delicious. The location is great, if you want a place to relax where you get treated like a friend not a foreigner, book this and the bed was super comfortable!!! Also great place to chill and watch birds, squirrels, peacocks.

Our host Pramoth was amazing and very helpful, location was really beautiful and our cottage was clean and nice, we will definitely come back here :)

The Cottage is surrounded by nature and the host, who built the cottages by himself, is such a nice guy. We felt welcomend and his mum cooks the best food. I would warmly recomment to stay here.
