Next time I’d prefer the bathroom on the same floor as the bed. Just because we are getting older and have many middle of the night trips to the restroom.😛

The hotel is right in the centre with a beautiful view of the lake. The owners and all other staff members are so nice and quite knowledgeable. The room was wonderful, comfortable bed, nice and spacious bathroom. Breakfast was great, quite a few different options. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location with phenominal views. Staff were all very lovely. Breakfast was simple yet exceptional. Would come back to this hotel and recommend it to friends.

The hotel and staff are fantastic. Partial Lake view balcony is nice and the view from the restaurant terrace is beautiful and the food good. If I go to Varenna again I will stay here. The office staff is extremely helpful and friendly...they heard rumor of a train strike the morning of our departure and not only advised us but helped create a travel plan to get us to Milan and on to Venice that solved or problem perfectly. I can't thank them enough.

Absolutely nothing to complain about.

The location and especially the restaurant's terrace are certainly the best places to be in Varenna. For an Italian hotel, the breakfast is rich and very good. It is served on the terrace on sunny days.

It's nearly impossible to arrive by car in Varenna and to find a place to unload your luggage. The recommended way on the hotel's website is really dangerous and illegal. Thus, the only way to bring safely your luggage to the hotel implies walking several hundreds meters with some steps.

The room with the terrace has unbeatable view. Varenna is a great place to stay -beautiful, charming, walkable, super well connected (train /ferries). The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant has view over the lake. The rooms are old style but clean and very comfortable. Bathroom was recently renovated.

Bathroom, beds and some furniture could use an upgrade-but the stay was still great and goo value for money.

Great location. The view from our side balcony room was great, amazing sunset, breakfast was good and it was served on the terrace, which offered an even more amazing view. The restaurant, that’s open at night, offers amazing food and service is impeccable. The bathroom was modern. The staff was lovely. The bed was comfortable. These are the definite advantages that the hotel has to offer.

Our bathroom continuously smelled like food (cooking), it probably shared an air duct with the kitchen. It was clean, but not thoroughly. The room was small, but that’s to be expected given the buildings in Varenna. The AC was above the headboard of the bed, which was not ideal. The TV was tiny. A bunch of sites, like Netflix, were blocked by their wifi network. The room was somewhat noisy, you could hear through the walls.

The staff at Albergo Milano are so friendly and welcoming, especially for a solo traveler! The location is impeccable, close to restaurants, ferries, shopping, and the train station. The rooms were very comfortable and had beautiful views of the lake on the balcony. The on-site restaurant is delicious, highly recommend.

The WiFi was spotty.

Location location location! - beautiful little hotel perched above the town with beautiful views of the lake. Feels like a family vibe since main hotel has less than a dozen rooms. Hotel, restaurant and Varenna feels like the mid lakes best kept secret Room - we booked partial lake view room; which was cozy, clean and with little balcony. Beds and pillows comfortable. (Photo with balcony view) Wifi- signal strength was strong for all activities we needed to do (web browsing, email, social media, wifi phone call, excellent quality for short video chat) AC - wall unit in room works perfectly however the weather was so lovely during our 3 day stay in august we barely used it and kept windows open. Breakfast - weather permitting out on the beautiful terrace (pictures included) with above average offerings/choices for typical Italian breakfast Dinner at La Vista restaurant - in the most romantic and lovely ambience (weather permitting) set out on lakefront terrace with delicious food. We recommend splurging here for dinner and treating yourselves and tastes to the 3-4 course meal. Everything we had was so good so splurged on dinner twice here! COVID safety - all staff masked and guests were obligated to mask while not eating. The day we checked out, new Italian green pass guidelines were being enforced. We felt very safe snd comfortable staying here. Value - perfectly priced for this hotel. The only thing we wish is that we had splurged for the frontal lake front room on the first floor with the beautiful terrace; next time! We will definitely recommend this hotel to our family/friends and would stay here again should we return to Varenna. Thank you for sharing your passions with us, Bettina and Edigio!
