We were so happy with everything about our stay at Bear Necessities. This is a beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean home. It is nestled in the woods and has a beautiful outdoor gathering space with a gas grill, fire pit table and dining table. An easy beautiful drive to Lexington (25 minutes, but seemed faster) made it perfect for Parents Weekend at VMI.

This beautiful cabin exceeded our expectations. The pictures don’t do it justice. Two sets of families in one home and we had everything we needed from king-size bed, additional two comfy large pull out beds in two separate rooms for privacy, fully stocked kitchen, extra toiletries, and plenty of linen and blankets. The propane gas fireplace was the highlight of our evenings. Can’t wait to visit again!

A beautiful property in a beautiful part of the world. The house is charming and comfortable and the host is immediately responsive to any questions you might have. Definitely worth a visit!

The cabin is WAY nicer than the photos. Everything was clean, convenient, and well maintained, with spotless bathrooms and kitchen and luxurious linens. The grounds around the house are well tended and the creek is delightful. A neighbor’s dog accompanied us on walks and helped socialize our anxious rescues. Although it was just the two of us, this house would also be perfect for a family with kids. The internet was as good as promised and we were able to work and attend video meetings. There’s a shortcut to the Blue Ridge Parkway if you turn right from the house with excellent hiking. I wish we were going back next weekend!!!

We loved this property! The cabin is super clean and very cute - the pictures don’t do it justice. Remote getaway for folks looking for some peace and quiet. Lovely breweries and vineyards nearby. Highly recommend!

My husband and I along with our yellow Lab wanted a nice remote getaway near water. The cabin was everything we asked for and more. The dog couldn't stay away from the creek. We have never slept so well. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, It was a great mini vacation!

We loved Bear Necessities! We used it for a base camp during W&L graduation week. Our family loved it!

Our family enjoyed fishing in the front yard, tubing and exploring the area. Perfect trip for our family and we enjoyed visiting the caverns nearby and the safari park. Great spring break trip.

This is a must stay, if you are looking to get away from it all. The property, creek and house were better than the pictures. Host was really nice in helping us get to the property. Beautiful views all around. House and property have all you would need or want to stay in comfort inside and out.

What a perfect weekend getaway in January! The kids loved the two beds in the loft and the king sized bed in the master bedroom was a dream. Very comfortable. Spent time strolling along the stream in the middle of a snow storm and warmed ourselves next to a large brush fire near the end of the property. Absolutely loved how there is no cell coverage :) will definitely stay here again!

Absolute Beautiful, cozy home, comfortable bed with amazingly soft sheets, the shower is a dream, it was very easy to get to, but definitely no cellphone service. which isnt all bad. I would definitely go back to stay here.

This property is always amazing! It is kept very clean, and they are very professional. When having a problem with the well pump this past weekend, we could not have had faster or better customer service to resolve the problem. I would highly recommend anybody staying there! We will definitely be back!

Very beautiful property and quiet. The house is better than what the pictures show. Large area to walk and relax. Fire pit is our favorite to sit and relax in the evening. Love the bears and decor.

This cabin has everything you could need to get away. My kids played in the creek out front of the cabin. It was a wonderful time.

I always wanted to be a fairy tale princess but instead in my fairy tale I was Goldie Locks with those 3 bears throughout the cabin. I had to say a few extra prayers for forgiveness when a very bad word came out of my mouth the second I saw the bear in the den...LOL. The cabin was awesome on beautiful property with the 3 bears and great decor provided an authentic mountain experience. The cabin was clean, comfortable, secure, and private. No phone service was a little intimidating at first but got over it because we could still text or email if needed and there was a lan line for emergencies. We enjoyed s'mores at the fire pit at night and made friends with a sweet visiting dog we named "Buddy". The private bridge over that relaxing and ever-flowing creek was interesting and beautiful lit up at night. We were there for the VMI graduation and it was the perfect family gathering place the entire 5 days. Thank you for providing this little piece of heaven. I'd certainly book this place again.

Beautiful property tucked away and backing up to GW National Forest. So cozy and the kitchen is delightful, Italian ceramic cook ware and a gas range. We had a great time doing smores and a bonfire by the creek at night and our son LOVED the 3 bears inside. We will be back!

Charming cabin along a sweet creek. Beautiful and well-maintained property in a very scenic part of Virginia. Very clean inside and the outdoor areas are kept very nice too! Being able to get barbecue delivered from their own restaurant was a huge bonus! Great food, I would highly recommend doing that!

This is just the place we needed to get away and spend quality time with kids & nature. Fishing, hiking, and 4x4. The cabin had everything we needed and was very comfortable and decorated so nice. The area surrounding the cabin was beautiful; we spent loads of time outside at the fire pit one night and fishing all around the stream just steps from door.
