Very clean and easy to find!

Situated near central Amsterdam in a residential area. Accommodation spacious & comfortable & owners Roseanne & Thijs very helpful. Helped us up to the top floor apartment with our luggage as there are a lot of stairs. Spacious bathroom & large, comfortable bed. Lovely views over Amsterdam & the canals.

Stairs could be a problem for people with mobility issues especially the very steep ones right at the top to access the apartment. Not a problem for us & was useful daily exercise!! We knew about the stairs as Booking.com had mentioned this on the website.

Chair in room was terrible: no place to sit and read or relax. Only place for 2 people to sit with cup of tea was the little alcove, which wasn’t a place to sit for long.

Not we didn’t like but be aware there are nearly 70 steps to get to the apartment, this all adds to the character of a 400 year old property

It was very comfortable and very warm with a lovely view over the canal and terrace on the roof if you didn't mind steep stairs. Great comfortable bed and lovely bathroom and very very clean. Rosanne was extremely helpful and provided drinks and nice coffee for guests. If you don't like climbing stairs and there were a lot but not a problem otherwise. Location excellent.

Nothing much really. A small table with chairs to sit and enjoy a coffee or breakfast would be a nice addition.

The property had a homely feel to it. Loved the bathroom space and the private roof terras.

My partner and I had a fantastic stay and the Empire suites and would definitely stay here again. The property was an ideal property for young couples travelling to Amsterdam for leisure. The host was warm and welcoming. She accommodated an earlier bag drop off which allowed us to enjoy our break from the moment we landed. Additionally to this, the host gave us lots of information about the local area and where to eat. Finally, she allowed us to leave our bags until we were ready to leave the city. We were very happy with how we were treated. The apartment is situated on one of the canals and you can walk to all the touristy places within 15 mins. There is lots of restaurants and shopping available within 5 minutes of the property. The room itself was very clean and tidy and decorated very nice. The favourite part of the apartment for us was the window overlooking the canal which had a window seat. The bed was very comfortable and very nice sheets. The apartment came equipped with a nice coffee machine, beers and wine which were all free of charge. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and we will stay here again if we visit Amsterdam.

The apartment was an older building which I think led to the water not being hot one day. Luckily this was fixed promptly by the host. For us as a young couple, we didn’t have an issue with the stairs but the stairs are very steep and I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone who is physically impaired or overweight.

- some small things would need a little renovation - more storage possibilties would be fine

The whole house is amazing, our apartment was the top floor which wasnt too bad. The apartment itself was amazing exactly like in the photos super clean and very comfortable with an amazing view. Roseanne was an amazing host, helped carry our bags to the room offered us umbrellas as it was kind of raining at the time. She also told us if we needed absolutely anything she would be on call to help which I thought was excellent. The location is also perfect it was like a 5 minute walk to the square and another 5-10 to central amsterdam. Would 100% stay here again.

The only thing that I could say would be that after walking all day it was a bit of a nightmare climbing the stairs but that is the only thing.

Perfect location, fascinating house, lovely apartment with many beautiful details, amazing roof terrace, huge and very comfortable bed. Rosanne ist the best host ever, really welcoming and helpful.

The rooftop terrace with a view over Amsterdam was one of the highlights of our trip to Amsterdam. Our hosts were also exceptionally amicable.

Super friendly and helpful host, beautiful apartment and a really comfortable bed. Loved the view of the canal, the cute window nook, and the rooftop terrace. We would absolutely stay here again - the location is super close to everything!

There are quite a few stairs up to the apartment - this was not a problem for us, but should be noted for anyone with joint problems. Note that this is true for pretty much any canal house :) The apartment is otherwise pretty faultless.
