Nicely decorated unit with magnificent ocean and sunset views.

The attention to detail by these owners/hosts is unsurpassed. This condo is newly and beautifully renovated, with high end finishes and design details. But most importantly, it’s so well appointed - they’ve thought of everything. From the welcoming chocolates upon arrival, to the beach equipment, insanely luxurious linens (the pillows were better than my own), fully equipped kitchen, and tremendous view and location, this place earns five stars with ease. We did four islands, staying in four short term rentals and this was our favorite. Largely because of the attention to detail by the prideful owners/hosts. It’s bright, pretty, uplifting, convenient, and absolutely lovely in every way. We liked opening the sofa bed and watching TV “from bed” at night - that was a guilty pleasure of ours! Thank you to these gracious hosts for an absolutely memorable week in Maui. If you want to stay in a quiet, oceanfront suite, somewhat away from the noise but still close to all of what Maui has to offer, don’t hesitate to book this place. It meets every criteria for a luxury rental.

We absolutely loved our stay at this oceanfront condo. The unit is modern, impeccably clean, and boasts stunning views. Despite the rocky waters nearby, we were delighted to spot multiple turtles daily. The beach is wonderfully secluded, offering the perfect escape for reading a book or relishing a sunset without the crowds. When we wanted to swim, we simply drove a few miles south. Plus, the central Maui location made it incredibly convenient to explore all the island has to offer. With plenty of walkable stores and restaurants nearby, it truly was the ideal base for our adventures.

The reviews were very accurate on this property. On approach it looked pretty plain but don’t be fooled. The view from the second story condo on the other side was spectacular at all times of the day! We absolutely had to be in the condo at sunset. You could take a picture every two minutes and have a different shot! The condo was clean. The kitchen well stocked! So many extra beach toys stored on the balcony!’ I was pleasantly surprised that there was a portable two way mirror that helped me so I could sit down to put on makeup! I personally didn’t find the bed very comfortable but I have back issues and I think it would be fine for most people! Extra pillows helped. One of the perks I didn’t read in the reviews was that there was a screen cover inside of the sliding glass doors, screen doors outside of the sliding glass doors and also an electric screen that can come down out on the outer edge of the patio to block the sun if desired. (We didn’t need that!). It was so great to have air conditioning in the condo. It did get a little warm in the afternoon. The washer and dryer aren’t in the unit but they’re close in the breezeway on the lower level and they’re next to the security office so it feels very secure. And the machines take credit cards. (We didn’t need them but I noticed them) Parking was always available. Lots of places close by to eat and get groceries. One night we even drove to Costco and got a $10 pizza!! We thoroughly enjoyed staying here! You will too!

Property is very clean and newly renovated. Conveniently located next to stores and restaurants. The condo was very quiet at night and the beach wasn’t crowded at all during my stay. I’d recommend to anyone!

Location right on beach, quiet building, beautiful sunsets. We loved our stay at this apartment. Nicely finished unit, equipped with everything you need for the beach and to cook. You can tell that the owners use the place, which means it’s equipped with higher quality items. Joe the manager was awesome and easy to reach. Highly recommend.

I loved this condo- it was so well appointed and comfortable and clean. The location has perfect access to the beach in a beautiful view of the beach from the deck. Neighborhood is very peaceful and quiet. Great walkability to grocery stores, coffee, and food carts. Will definitely stay here again!

I was was looking for someplace warm with a beautiful view of the ocean. This was the perfect place. Very quiet and at times seemed like I had Maui all to myself.

We loved the Hale Kai O Kihei property because of its convenient location, and smaller size. It is an older property, but has been well cared for. Because of the smaller size, the property is quiet and it is easy to park close to your unit. The interior remodel was beautifully done and every furnishing and bit of decor works together to create a relaxed beach feel.

We stayed in this condo for 5 nights for our honeymoon. The unit was modern, clean, and well maintained. It is stocked with anything you may need during your stay - beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, towels, soap, spices, coffee etc. It is in a great central location to drive anywhere on the island but also has some great shops and restaurants nearby. The complex is quiet but fun with the residents often having various get togethers and activities that travelers are invited to. The sunsets on the lanai each night cannot be beat and you have close access to a beautiful beach. Highly recommend this condo for a couple looking to relax and enjoy all Maui has to offer.

Very accommodating host

We stayed at this amazing Hale o Kai Kihei condo in Feb, and it was perfection. The building is location on a quiet street, but is so close to many amazing restaurants, and a huge grocery store. The condo itself had an amazing view of the water where we would watch whales while we had morning coffee. The condo itself was updated and beautiful. the king bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large with soft towels, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you'd need to cook at home. we loved sitting on the lanai every morning for sunrise, and to see the sunset each evening. it was a perfect short get away. I would look here again for future stays. Mahalo!

The condo is renovated and spotless. The view is amazing , looking directly at the sunset. Location is also great , lots of restaurants near by. Highly recommend this condo.

Fantastic condo! We were greeted by welcome treats, helpful information, and the beautiful view of the beach and gorgeous sunset! The apartment was very clean, comfortable, nicely updated with a great kitchen, and fantastic lanai. The condo included thoughtful additions such as lots of extra outlets for your electronics in the kitchen and living room, folding beach chairs, beach bags, coffee, and even binoculars to look for whales on the wonderful lanai! We looked forward to visiting the large Hawaiian green turtle napping on the beach in the late afternoon/evening. We would definitely love to come back!

We had an amazing time at Joe’s condo! He was great host and provided everything we needed. The kitchen was equipped with anything u need to prep for meals! The place is so clean and so tidy. Beach was just steps away! It even had so much beach toys, chairs and towels provided. We had a great family vacation!! We will be back for sure!

Spent every morning on the lanai, then walked the beach late afternoons. The property manager decorated a christmas tree out on the lawn so we could watch the sunsets with the palm trees and a lit Christmas tree in the foreground. Simply lovel!

Live Upcountry Maui and had our son visiting for Christmas Break, so thought we'd start his vacation off at the beach. Very nice, clean, well stocked condo that looks like it recently was remodeled. Kitchen has everything you need: Coffee maker (there are a lot of coffee filters currently lol!), blender, InstaPot and fully stocked pots, pans and dishes. Beds, including the pullout couch according to the 23 year old, were very comfortable. There are extra blanket in case you get chilly, extra pillows and looked like they even had a portable crib and high chair if you're bringing a little one. Beach is right there. Pool is small, but it does the job if you don't want to dip into the ocean, and the lawn area was great to pull the lounge chairs out on and read in the shade of the Palm trees. If we do this again, and we will, we will come back and would highly recommend it!

Very nice place to stay. If you are still looking, stop. Dont waste your time looking for perfect. This is it. We will go back. And we have recommended that our adult son and daughter stay here on next visit to Maui.

We stayed here for about a week with our 1 year old. We wanted somewhere nice to stay with a good view given that we knew we would be spending a good deal of time in our room with naps and such for the baby. Pictures are very accurate and the view from the room is perfect. Sunsets from the balcony are gorgeous. The building looks a little motel-y from the road but this unit is in great shape, is well appointed and maintained. The beach is probably less than 50 yards from the building. The beach is a little short depth wise so there’s not a ton of room but once you’re in the water you can walk out a very long ways which is neat. There was also a lot of neat beach combing here with lots of coral wash up. Waves we fairly calm here even on windier days so a good spot for kids or those less comfortable with the surf. The room had everything we needed for cooking. and was well equipped for our baby as well with a pack and play with sheets as well as a high chair. It also has all the beach gear you might need, chairs coolers, towels and umbrellas. The only thing we missed is the fridge is not equipped with and ice maker so be sure to grab a bag of ice from the store. I had a few questions for the host both before and during our stay and they were very quick to respond on both occasions. Over all very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this unit especially if you are going to spend a little more time than usual in your room like we did.

This location was amazing and close to great restaurants like Nalu’s and miso phat, we saw sea turtles everyday in front of this home. Host was amazing and quick to respond. Thank you for opening your home to us.

The property was better than expected. Super clean, high quality features and decor, gorgeous view, steps to a healthy & private beach, and a very short walk to shops, restaurants, grocery and more. We even happened to be here for Fourth Fridays, a community event in the shopping center with live music, food trucks, vendors and more. Our only disappointment was that the beach is not good for snorkeling. We highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about this listing. Joe’s place is right on the beach with spectacular views and amazing sunsets. Very clean and immaculate and well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The location in Kihei was a bonus, Plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and a grocery store less than a block away. We would definitely stay here again!!

We had planned to stay in West Maui as we had numerous times in the past. When that canceled we decided to look into Kihei and found Joe’s unit. We were apprehensive as we had never stayed in Kihei but we chose well. It is a well stocked well maintained unit. Joe was super responsive to any inquiries and it’s clear he cares about his guests and his unit. It’s right on the ocean, no road or wires in the way, just the dunes and the waves. There was a nice little pool too and the grounds were lovely. It’s quiet yet within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores, and other shopping. Nice condo in a super location. We will return!

Great place on the ocean.

On my flight to Maui, I was chatting with an older gentleman who lives on the island. Multiple times he warned me “don’t fall in love”. I responded politely, but thought to myself “yeah, yeah. I live in South Florida. Beautiful women are a dime a dozen”. The moment I arrived at the Hale Kai O Kihei property, opened the blinds and stepped out onto the balcony, I immediately realized the old man was not warning me about falling in love with a woman, he was warning me about falling in love with the island. The property was perfect. Zero complaints. Read all the other 5 star reviews if you want to learn about property. Kihei is the perfect little town. It has small town vibes with a slight tourist influence. No major tourist traps here. All along the SW coast is perfect for experiencing Maui’s tropical waters. Surfing and kayaking in Kihei and world class shore diving in Wailea-Makena. Clear water full of beautiful coral and curious marine life. Sea turtles galore. These waters put the Florida Keys to shame. My main purpose for this review is to let people know MAUI IS OPEN. The island cries for Lahaina. The town is destroyed, but it’s a very small area. The rest of Maui is drowning as the media scares tourist away from the island. Come visit. Experience the magic for yourself. But I have you warn you, don’t fall in love.

If you are looking for a convenient location to all the sights on the island or aren’t a big tourist/resort person, this is the perfect spot for you! The unit is beautiful, and the views from the lanai are breathtaking. You can even see sea turtles just down the beach!
