Breakfast very good, the room was well equipt and the location was great, just a short 5 min walk into Cromford.

The bar and restaurant was a little sterile and lacked character.

Everything was amazing except the very thin ceiling through which we could every footstep from upstairs

Beautiful grounds, the lounge area was very nice. The location was nice and peaceful and close to Matlock. The room was fine with a good bathroom.

Unfortunately, breakfast wasn't good. Very slow service, cold coffee, forgot toast, didn't enjoy the bacon or sausage. Nobody seemed to keep an when the juice and milk jars were empty at the buffet. More staff or more staff training would make the experience better. Bar service slow with staff having to multi task.

Danni the girl who had to deal with all the complaints and there were lots from multiple guests.

The hotel is about style with no substance. Checked in after spending all day outside in minus 8. Told there was no space for me to have food in the restaurant. No Room service available, having asked for it. Taken to my room which was outside over the courtyard got to the room, the outside door opened straight into the room. Radiators not on, in freezing conditions. Taken back to the reception given another room in the main hotel which was directly over the bar/restaurant area which was now full with people not staying at the hotel. Very noisy. Had to walk to the local fish and chip shop to get food. Lots of residents having pizzas delivered. It was a shambles. Breakfast in the morning was luke warm. Was supposed to be staying for two nights left in the morning and found somewhere else. Only plus side was Danni the staff member who was getting lots of complaints and dealt with them as best she could. No management on site.

Fantastic service all round. Lovely location. A warm welcome straight away. Staff in the restaurant attentive but not overbearing. Food excellent throughout. Well stocked bar. Suite was spacious, comfortable and the roll top bath was the cherry on the cake!

One group arrived back late and interrupted sleep but not the fault of the hotel. Pillows could do with an upgrade.

Everything was brilliant the staff, the location, the facilities and the food was amazing

Only the lack of air conditioning which is completely understandable

Location, quality and ambiance.

Overall we thought the food was 4 star in a 5 star hotel.
