The house and the amenities are amazing!
We really enjoyed our stay and had a great family getaway! We will definitely keep this rental in mind when we travel down south again!

We had a wonderful stay. Only thing to note for planning purposes is that the bathroom connected to the only bedroom on the main floor requires steps up and down from the shower. My mom is highly mobile (uses a cane and handrails) so she could stay downstairs with a direct walk in shower. There are 3 full (tub and shower) plus two 1/2 baths.
The outdoor spaces were beautifully designed and furnished. The house is tucked into a corner with the lake behind. You will forget its in a neighboorhood. Fresh coffee every morning in the sunroom or on the porch was lovely. If I had known I'd stay an extra day and not leave the house. Bring groceries and staycation in this lovely home. (Wineries are close and evening performances at the fantastic SIU McCloud theatre.)

This was our second stay at the property and it is delightful! The home is stocked with anything you need, the location is great and the house is quite comfortable! We will make this our “go to” spot when visiting our college son!

Took the family to southern Illinois for a quick getaway. The property was great. Really loved the pool and hot tub! The view from the back of the house of the lake was great! The kids and myself enjoyed the paddle boats! The entertaining area was quite large. Would be great for weddings, family reunions, etc.

The house was beautiful and very clean and had everything we needed and more. I came from Wisconsin with my family and my niece came from England to visit our family, who all live near Carbondale and surrounding areas. The thing we all liked about the house the most was the outdoor seating. There were so many places to sit outside with plenty of room for everyone.

6 adults enjoyed this beautifully kept home. We enjoyed the cleanliness, space, and location to amenities of this space.
We enjoyed the pond, pool, hot tub on site. We also enjoyed the local co-op grocery, farmers market, brewery and winery.

Great house! Close to stores. Amenities were nice. Adding a few kayaks to the property would facilitate use of the pond.

Spacious house that's very comfortable for small and large families. Beautiful view onto a large pond with fountains. Pleasant walks allow some wildlife viewing around the pond. Nice pool, paddleboats and sports equipment available to keep everyone busy. Beautiful sunroom and patios perfect for relaxing and visiting with each other.

Absolutely beautiful and well stocked home. There is a pool, a lake, paddle boats and tennis court. Could not have asked for more. Fabulous!!

Really enjoyed our stay at the Gibson House. It was perfect for our family visit, very clean and well stocked. It’s large and open common rooms are engaging yet has quiet, private bedrooms. The weather was perfect for lounging on the covered porches and we even caught a few bass from the lake.

We rented houses in Pine Lake in order to have a place for everyone to gather as our family attended my mother’s funeral. We celebrated her life by showing old photos on the smart TV. We prepared meals in the beautiful kitchen which was fully equipped. We woke Sat. to a dusting of snow which just added to the quiet and serene setting. The enclosed sun porch provided a great spot to enjoy the rays despite the cold. Betsy was great to work with and responsive, communicating prior to the rental and during. It would also be a great location in the summer for outdoor activities.

Beautiful, serene, amazing amenities, relaxing - just what we needed. Close to Carbondale for some exploration and meals when we felt like it. Did not want to leave!! Highly recommend!

This place is very nice and is perfect for a family getaway or a guys golf trip since it’s so close to golf courses. The pond is great for fishing and the pool is so close you won’t ever have to leave the property if you don’t want to.
I honestly never even talked to the property owner….which I don’t count as a bad thing….communication received was everything I needed so I never had to ask any questions. Property and everything about it was in great working order when we showed up and throughout so there was never a need for me to reach out.
This place is awesome and I will definitely be staying there again!

A group of us came for a long weekend and we had the most amazing time.
The communication with hosts was great, the house was gorgeous and very clean, and the location is so peaceful and relaxing!
We also did the wine trail which was so much fun. We can’t wait to come back again.

Beautiful home and property
We needed a sizable home to rent for two families with children and this was a great fit! The kitchen overlooked a pond/fountain and there was fantastic natural light throughout the house. We loved it! The house was kept very clean, everything was in working order, Wi-Fi and cable worked great. We want to come back during the summer.

Overall the place was beautiful!!! The only problems was lack of internet. It should be noted somewhere that internet is sketchy at best. This includes TV. We were unable to use any tvs or computers. Also had problems with coffee maker. Please replace with simple one. We would come back and stay again

So often you rent a house and the kitchen has pots that you would be afraid to cook in or old appliances, linens, etc. Everything at the Gibson House was top shelf, all caps. Five friends had our Covid coming out party, and it couldn't have been a better time. Everyone is already talking about doing it again next year! Thanks so much for the wonderful experience.

A True Guest House
Gibson Guest House was everything and more than we could have wanted - both as headquarters for our three-generation immediate family and as the setting for my in-laws' 75th anniversary celebration. The house was absolutely perfect with plenty of room for everyone and beautiful views everywhere you looked. Betsy was so accommodating - providing a lot of information and even a high chair for our grandson. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely - particularly on the pedal boats, floaties, and swimming dock (especially our granddaughter!) - since it was such an easy walk from the house. And I've never seen such a well-stocked kitchen; the three-layer cake and two pies that I made there came out great! Our stay there was memorable, thanks to all the staff, especially Betsy, who make the house special.

A Get-A-Way You Must Experience
There are really no words to describe this property, but if I have to choose one it will be spectacular. This home sits on a beautiful lake with beautiful views all around the house. I am very picky so to satisfy me completely is rare, this home exceeded all of my expectations and the cleaning crew deserves kudos, the home was immaculately clean. We will certainly be back.
