Breakfast was excellent, hotel in good condition, tap keys for the door locks.

Front desk woman was quick and friendly, when we got to our room the door lock was open and door was open. Upon entering, we noticed stuff all over floor (didn’t appear vacuumed) and multiple cup/wTer marks on nearly every surface. I told the front desk worker and she offered to clean it real quick but we asked if there was another room available. There was one other option so we took it. That room was cleaner, however most of the washcloths had stuff in them (old lint or something) so my daughter did not want to use those on her face. For the price we paid it was definitely a disappointment l

They had issues with electronics and had you let people into their rooms. That was O.K. but I wish they would have asked for some ID before letting people into their rooms.

Trip started with the card reader not working so front desk had to walk all guests to rooms and unlock doors. They were not very friendly and I was told could use digital key with phone but they didn’t know how to set up. Finally got to room and floors were sticky and very dirty. I wiped the floor with a wash cloth and it was black! Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. Saw bug walk across floor in bathroom. When we checked in the body wash in shower was empty and we asked for the room to be cleaned and filled while we were gone and it never was. This will be our last time staying at a Hampton Inn hotel.

Our experience was good. What I appreciated most, was the check- support. Evening and morning. They were very helpful, answered questions, very friendly and pleasant.

Pool and hot tub were being repaired, so not in use. In the eating area, there wasn't any waffle mix both mornings we stayed there. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was very nice. We checked in at 4:30 PM and were given a room. When we went to the room, the room was unlocked by using the dead bolt. In addition, the room looked clean, but under closer inspection, the room still had rings on the bedside table from glass wear and there was no shampoo in the bathroom. Not a huge deal, but check in is supposed to be at 3! Then we found out that the hot tub was not working. I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past 2 years and this is the first time that I could not give it 5 stars.

This hotel is old. The bed lines are cheap and scratchy. The staff was nice, friendly and accommodating. But I won't stay again.

Check in already knew it wasn't going to be a good stay, I was originally given a room on the 1st floor, and when I got here I was given a room on the 3rd floor and I am disabled. Room definitely had not been cleaned well, torn up paper all over the floor, tables and desk were not cleaned. Not going to even mention the bathroom that my wife had to spend 20mins cleaning before we could use it. I most likely will never ever patronize this place again, especially for $200 a night.

Tried to check in at 2:00 and knew it was early but they said they thought they could accommodate us. Then when arrives they said maids still catching up on last night when they were booked for a conference in town that we were part of. Returned 5 hrs later and they still weren’t sure if they had a clean room but did find one.
Room was nice, staff were helpful,good breakfast with 2 hot things: egg scramblers and sausage.

Some of the amenities, which drove my decision to stay here, we’re not working. Fitness equipment and spa. Hallways were not air conditioned.

This was one of two hotels that came highly recommended in the area. I was very tired and arrived late. The guy at the front desk was very helpful. But the room was gross. The room stunk like dogs. I guess that's what I get for a pet friendly hotel. I don't need pet friendly. I need clean. The blind was stuck in the open position and the curtains were a confused mess. I finally had to jerk down on the line to get any privacy. The refrigerator wasn't working well, and I brought cold food with me. Honestly, because of the smell, I did not stay there. I left.

I don't know what it is about college towns like Carbondale, but they seem to believe they have a captive audience and less is good enough. This was the weakest of the Hampton Inn's I've stayed at. I'd stay there again if there were no other options, but boy, I'd look hard for other options first.

Clean hotel, staff was very pleasant. Inette at the front desk always has a wonderful smile on her face, was nice to speak with and helpful with navigating around the area. All and all, the staff made this stay nice.

We were in Carbondale for the solar eclipse, so the hotel was very busy. The staff was still very friendly and the manager in particular was very enthusiastic about greeting each guest.

I always stay here when i visit my daughter at SIU. Clean, friendly. Beds are comfortable. The pool and hot tub are well maintained. Overall, great hotel!

stayed one night to experience the eclipse. Liked the clean room, the hotels location and surrounding area. Did not like the astronomical room rate which totaled almost $500

At first when looking at the first couple reviews I was a little worried. But I have to say this property was great. We were greeted at the front desk by a friendly, smiley employee. Our room was very spacious and clean. Bed was comfy. Went to go sit in the hot tub and there were no towels. Went to the front desk and asked if there were towels or do we take our bathroom towels. The gentleman behind the desk said no he will get towels and immediately grabbed towels and brought them out to us and apologized. Breakfast was also amazing. They had cheese omelette’s, sausage and potatoes along with your usual continental breakfast food. I would absolutely recommend staying at this hotel.

Definitely would not be staying there again. The complementary breakfast was awful. The waffle machine was broke, and they had no milk for the cereal. The Internet was terrible could not log onto our personal devices, and the TV was in and out the entire time. I would’ve expected considering the the price of the hotel. Very dissatisfied.

We’ve stayed here a few times and the past couple of times the breakfast has been underwhelming. The waffle irons have been down and the options are very limited. We base our decision on where to stay with the free breakfast in mind. This could determine our next stay.

Check us in and it seemed he was having a bad night. Hotel is very outdated. Woke up with sore back - bed and bathroom clean but the shower was nasty. Pool was a decent temp. Almost left but were so exhausted we stayed and made it work.

Great location near Walker's Bluff Casino. Room clean but door to bathroom was difficult to open. It was a barn door and the track did not seem to function properly. Told staff at the time of departure and assured me it would be fixed that day.

everything was wonderful, check in, room and condition. The only downside was cold air blowing into the bathroom. i guess it was to keep the steam down from the bath...should not blow all the time.

We have stayed at this Hampton over the past several years while visiting our daughter at SIU-C. We have ALWAYS had a pleasant experience-from the staff at the reception desk, upon arrival-to the morning breakfast staff who bring a smile to your face...and the housekeeping staff, too!!! Our daughter has graduated over the weekend, and her life is moving forward-so we will not be seeing these people again...We just want you all to know how great you are! Thank you all so very much!

Hotel was in a great location for my needs. Staff were friendly and hotel was clean. Breakfast was above average for a free meal.
My only complaints were that is was loud at all hours. Due to time changes I often didn't go to sleep until after 1am, and it was loud even then. I was awoken one morning by the housekeeping staff greeting each other loudly outside my room. The shower was hard to regulate temperature - it was either too hot or too cool and there was quite a delay when making adjustments. The toilet also didn't flush consistently. Nothing major; just some annoying things when there for a week.
