I originally rated this property as an 8 out of 10 as I genuinely felt this was a very good score based in my experience. Although it was quite noisy on the road due to passing trams and cars and there were a few standard complementaries that were missing from the room, we still felt that the location was beautiful and the room was quite pretty. The host was friendly initially but the whole check in experience felt very rushed and not very welcoming which is what justified in my opinion a fair score of 8 out of 10. It turns out that this rating was just not acceptable for the host.

Once I left my rating of 8 out of 10 I received some very rude and aggressive messages from the host firstly insulting me and then demanding in a confrontational and insulting way that I explain my "very poor" rating. Even though I tried to respond politely he continued to message me at unreasonable times in the evening in an aggressive tone and bully me into giving hire ratings. I looked at previous reviews made by other customers and this seems to be how he responds to reviews. He insults you and confronts you if the reviews are not 9 out of 10 plus. I am shocked by this behaviour as I personally felt that I gave a good review. The stay was nice but in my opinion was not a place that I would rate 10 out of 10. I am 8 months pregnant and have found his behaviour quite disgusting and distressing. Because of his behaviour, it has out an awful taste in my mouth on the whole experience and I would not give him any score above 1 out of 10. I would advice you to avoid staying here unless you want to be bullied into giving high reviews or harassed if you do not. He should not be in this business if he cannot handle that some customers just have different standards and tastes. He has no right to dictate how we choose to rate our experiences. I have travelled all around the world and stayed in many places from hostels to fancy resorts and always rate places fairly. I have given many full star ratings over the years but this experience just did not feel that it was anything special fora few reasons. The "extra" things that they feel they did for us are very standard curtesies that you can receive anywhere. I have only ever written 2 other bad reviews in my life and this really has been the worst experience for me in my 35 years of travel. If you choose to stay here, then good luck.

Locatie is schitterend! Prachtig pand, mooie kamer en de straat is onvoorstelbaar fraai. Mooiste straat van Antwerpen! Snel in de binnenstad via tram en fiets. Maar, ook in de nabije omgeving leuke horeca :).

Everything was superb, one of the few times that the rooms looked even better than in the photos! Beautiful interior, amazing bed, delicious breakfast and Adam was really helpful!

Small, family run guesthouse in a listed building. Very friendly. WiFi is excellent. Breakfast is lovely. Tram station is nearby - quick and easy way to get to the centre of Antwerp.

Car parking is very limited and expensive. No lift - our room was two floors up.

A comfortable stay in the iconic guest house situated on a street full of other similar beautiful art Nouveau period architectural buildings. Extremely comfy bed! Hosts were very cheerful and helpful with check in. Convenient location to nearby train station.

Adam and his wife are some of the nicest and most responsive hosts you can expect. They were always available for any questions or requests we had. The position is really convenient to visit the city as next to Berchem station and not so far from downtown even if you decide to walk. The street where the b&b is located and the Zurenborg neighborhood are probably the most fascinating in the city. We will stay definitely again at Garden of Eden if we will come back to Antwerp!

The house is beautiful, the room was big, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great. It was very well connected (train, tram, bus), good restaurant nearby (Yalla Yalla). We had a blowdryer, toiler paper, shower gel, towels, a small fridge, tea, coffee, water, everything you need.

Slightly inconvenienced by the silence hours (23.00-08.00) because we are night people and it was the weekend and Eurovision was airing. So mainly our difficulty was trying not to bother the hosts, who are living in the same building. Maybe not an issue for a lot of people, but we didn’t feel totally relaxed. Still, we had a great stay!
