We booked this hotel for convenience as visiting a local attraction and booked a Standard room. It was ok accommodation that had a comfy enough bed, hanging space for clothes in an open style wardrobe, fan, small tv, tea and coffee making facilities and soap in the bathroom. No hairdryer or guest information other than breakfast and restaurant menus but local info was available in reception along with a vending machine. The room was clean but dated and the lamps and chairs were stained and carpet faded, could really do with a freshen up but, as I said, it was a cheap stay. We booked room only but did dine in the restaurant on the first evening and had breakfast on the 1st morning, both of which were nice and all the staff are so friendly and happy to help. We would stay here again if we needed to but may invest in a room upgrade

It was close to the motorway and easy to find. I would stay there again. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Really comfortable stay

Hotel is half way though a refurbishment, my room wasn't and you could tell... Cold tap didn't work in the bathroom, while the weekend was warm, the room remained akin to a sauna for most of the weekend. Friends were staying in a refurbished room and the difference was night and day!

Hotel is part way though a refurb and we had a refurbished room but the rest of the hotel still needs doing. There is no Aircon and the room was HOT

It fitted location & price. The food was pub fair was ok. Chips with most things. Need more vegetables.

First night we had no hot water it took a few hours and other rooms to complain before they got it sorted

Old and needs a refurbished

We stayed in one of the newly decorated Deluxe Double rooms and WOW what a difference. Was like a totally different hotel well worth the extra money.

Lovely place

The receptionist ignored us on arrival, the room was tired and not very clean. There was no plug in the sink and I couldn’t plug my clock in because the sockets were to low.

Very noisy during the night, other guests kept trying room door handle trying to get in. Slightly rude inattentive male staff member on check in, but was put right by extremely friendly and very friendly female staff on the check out reception.

Toilet wasn’t flushed from last person staying.it was all quite run down apart from restaurant area. Room and building could do with a make over. Floor squeaks everywhere including hall with people walking. Check in took about 15minutes

Booked a room to enjoy a family wedding without the pressure of trying to get home after the reception. The room was in desperate of refurbishment, the room decor was very tired with multiple areas of damage to the pain work, the bed was very soft and spongy and bouncy the pillows felt old and lumpy. Let’s not mention the noisy floorboards and being aware of everyone walking past the room and on the floor above! The general areas were in need or some TLC and a good clean - dust noted on all surfaces.

Short break to celebrate a birthday. Good location for our trip.

The hotel and bedroom looks tired and in need of work the paint around the window was peeling off (room14)

I would defo stay here again, a quick internet search found the fairway hotel, easy to book online, on arrival staff were lovely, had a great evening meal of steak and ale pie with home made chips, and sirloin steak with chips, lovely. Staff and room was excellent, couldn’t fault it from start to finish, defo recommend it to anyone looking to book

convenient location

We booked for two nights, but as the bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in we didnt stay for the second night. We went for a meal and arrived back at the hotel at 22.10, the bar was closed. A bottle of water in the vending machine was £2.40!!! Never again

Easy access and plenty of parking and clean hotel, however I could hear someones telly up until middle of the night

All good other than being told to use house cleaning to get more coffee & milk cartons when they’re just in a cupboard in reception.

Ok value for money these days, wasn’t expecting the Ritz. Comfortable bed, TV was a little small but ok. Bathroom could do with modernising & floor was quite creaky.

It was a good price and close to our destination

Staff were really friendly but room seemed a bit empty compared to the photo. No cushions on the bed but plenty of towels and a very comfy bed with lots of pillows. Parking was excellent and check in was easy. The food in the restaurant next door was very good and the staff were great. I really enjoyed my meal! Great for the price, will be back next time I’m in Barnsley.

For us the property was ideally situated, the room and bed were comfortable, the hot water was very hot and plentiful, no complaints

I am a Yorkshire man born in Worsborough. I have been living in Scotland for fifty years now and I like to return home as often as possible. I prefer the Fairway to other Hotels because it ticks all my requirements. The staff are Wonderful and the accommodation first class. It is very good value for the money!.

Staff were very helpful. The room could do with more plug sockets. The room overlooked the road, and was quiet enough for sleeping.

Bed tiny , booked double for 1 and got 2 single beds card machine at reception didnt work properly n declined card , women clueless room tatty food not great chips awfull prob reheated

Location good ,property needs some outside maintenance also bedrooms need updating.

Staff were professional and friendly. Food was good and great value .
