Lovely recently refurbished twin room. Everything was new and beautifully decorated. Immaculate bathroom with a good size shower cubicle. The staff were great and it’s a really nice pub. Breakfast was well cooked. Would definitely stay there again if we come for another gig at the picturedrome.

Whilst being a lovely local establishment, the bedroom was a little tired and in need of some upgrading. The carpet was worn and the en-suite bathroom needs a complete refurb at the very least. Other than that, the bar area is warm and comforting and the staff are polite and welcoming.

We had a great stay. We came to Holmfirth for a gig at the Picturedrome. We didn’t realise there was a folk festival on, so the town and the pub were exceptionally busy! The room and en-suite were basic but clean. Nice touch of toiletries and lovely fluffy towels. Tea, coffee & biscuits were plentiful. Only complaint would be that the bed had seen better days and was very creaky. Could do with replacing!
We had breakfast which was of excellent quality produce, especially the bacon, and very well cooked. Great coffee from the bean to cup machine.
Special mention to Alison, who worked past 11pm the previous night and was back in the morning to cook and serve breakfast! She was really cheerful and gave great service.
All in all, the Elephant and Castle is great value for money and has happy, helpful staff. Would recommend to anyone coming to Holmfirth.

Quick check in - room basic but overall was comfortable. Towel's are the best quality + thickness had anywhere we've ever stayed.
Breakfast was changed from 8.30 to 9am
l had event to attend at 9.45 so a bit rushed but it was an excellent breakfast for the cost of the booking.

Rooms were filthy, mould on bedroom and shower walls, carpet old and disgusting. Terrible smell in room. Badly needing decorated and updated. Full place needs fumigated.

Breakfast was delightful, with genuinely lovely staff. The room, although basic was generally clean, the bed was horrific. The mattress felt like it belongs to the pub since it was constructed! The duvet was weird with an awful cover. My back has been aching for a few days after trying to sleep on it. No hairdryer in the room, after enquiring three times if we could have one, we were finally advised there wasn’t any spare. New mattresses and bedding would make this a much nicer place to stay.

I got scabies from the bedding!! Covered in bites, very dated furniture from when I was a kid style! It was haunted, didn't sleep, food tasteless, mangeress wasn't over friendly, breakfast staff and cleaner great! Would not return though.

Room was a bit dated, small but for £60 and for one night it was fine. Staff very good, great location, free parking, but the highlight for me was the Sunday Roast Dinner. I've never seen so much beef (cooked perfectly) on a plate, and what a delicious plateful for just £12, plenty of veg, washed down with an excellent pint of Farmer's Blonde. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay. Our room was basic but comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our vegetarian breakfast the next morning was delicious.

We had an enjoyable overnight stay here whilst attending a concert at the picturedrome. The staff were friendly, the breakfasts very good and the room was clean and comfortable. The beer and bar meals were also good. For the price paid it was excellent value for money and we'd very happily stay here again when in Holmfirth next
