The Thomas Somerscales is a charming boutique hotel, The location is very convenient for sightseeing and walking to wonderful restaurants. The outside porch areas were so welcoming to sit with a Pisco sour and relax after a day of walking! We felt like we were invited into a historic home. Hector at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful, always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast was a lovely , fresh fruit, fresh juice, cold meats and pastries, served in a vintage dining room. Our stay there was fantastic and would highly recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel in a good location. Breakfast was good and the their pool is heated to almost hot tub temperatures. A little dated in terms of hallway carpeting but it had great views and room were perfect for all our needs.

Very interesting boutique with the old British style. It is fun to hear the wood singing with someone walking on it. The room is clean and bed is comfortable.The terrace is a perfect area to see fireworks and sunrise (if there is no cloud).Breakfast is well prepared in the dining room every morning.Location is good as well, right in the historic center.I would like to stay here again if I come back.

We stayed one night at Thomas Somerscales, and wish it could have been more! The staff were so happy and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was lovely. The location was great too for restaurants and local sights. Highly recommend a stay at this boutique hotel.

We stayed in Valparaiso for one night during a recent trip to Chile and loved staying at this hotel! It was an old mansion that belonged to an English artist, and you could feel the warm spirit of those old days coming through. The staff was very nice and welcoming and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is situated in an excellent area very close to great restaurants and cafes, and had pretty views from the windows. We would love to stay at this hotel should we ever return to the area!

This hotel is located on a quiet street in the middle of the historic quarter of Valparaiso, within easy walking distance of several very nice restaurants.

Good location. Friendly service. Breakfast ok not great. Room a bit small. Roof terrace a good spot for sunrise though very small.

Wonderful old home converted into a quaint boutique hotel. Friendly and helpful staff was a pleasure to be with.

From the moment we arrived we were treated wonderfully.All the staff are warm, friendly and welcoming, often going out of their way to help arranging tours and assistance without being asked.Rooms are very clean and well appointed and the hotel has a really homely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Great experience in a very well located hotel, near many restaurants and well connected to the main sights of the city. A special appreciation for the great staff and in particular for Hilding Carson, a knowledgeable host and wonderful raconteur. Room was spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast in a wonderful Victorian mansion. We highly recommend it.

This small hotel combines the charm of an elegant late 19th century house with the comfort of modernized windows and bathroom. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful, the service is superb. Excellent breakfast in a very pretty setting. The location is on one of the nicest hills of the city, very close to interesting sites such as the Museo des Bellas Artes. The downtown is a short walk and short ride down one of the ascensors. Some rooms have a lovely view of Valparaiso Bay.
