This was a very affordable accommodation for the plans that we had. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a basic residence room, but given we were out and about all day, it gave us exactly what we needed - clean room, good bed, shower, etc. It worked well.

Convenient, clean. It would be great if the room had a fan. No aircon and window only opened a slit.

It was a very nice property and easy to navigate. My only negative was my room did not have any linen for the bed and no towels or toiletries nor did it have a garbage can in bathroom or room. When i said i had no towels, linens etc i was told if there was any on the cart i could take it myself. The cart had very limited items and when i asked about faceclotha i was told if there is none there then they have none and that laundry was being done and there MIGHT be some the following day but it was first come first serve. Totally unacceptable as those are basic things every room should have and i shouldnt have to play russian roulette for those items.

It was affordable, very clean, rooms very suitable for students and adults who are stopping over for a while.

Low grade because no AC and single beds(university dorms naturally singles). Everything else was fine. Staff excellent. Very clean.

The staff was extremely nice, the rooms were very clean. My only complaint would be the disposable dishes for the breakfast. With the climate changer and considering the effort that Memorial University say they do to preserve the environment, real dishes should be used at the cafeteria.

It was perfect for a friend's trip or dad and son trip since you each get a small private room. I loved my stay there and breakfast was included. The staff from Kenya was super friendly!

I liked that it was central to down town, clean, very affordable. The fact that you needed your room key to get from the bathroom back into the bedroom was highly inconvenient.

The location was nice, there is a hiking path close by and is a fairly short walk to the downtown area. Rooms were clean and the staff were always helpful.

Great location and price. There isn't a fridge, microwave or cofeemaker in your room. You have to go to a common room for these things. There is no hairdryer but you may be able to borrow one at the desk. I would stay there again.

The accommodation was clean, the beds were comfortable and the University is central to all of St John's. The staff were great and parking is easy and close to the residence.

It is close to dowtown, which is good. But you have twin beds in seperate rooms, while the photos showed us twin beds in the same room.

No Ac in the rooms and windows barely open, one room had a desk fan certainly needed.

It was bad , no air conditioning inside the rooms, the breakfast was pathetic everything that they served in breakfast was from Costco. The washroom was another sad experience no exhaust and slow flush . Overall a very bad experience. It’s cheap and it ends there.

The residence hotel is chiefly for visiting academics, though I saw quite a few elderly visitors or others. The upside is that it's convenient, being on campus, the staff is friendly, the WiFi is good, and there is breakfast with some packages. The downside is that the rooms are pretty spartan; it's an upgraded dorm room. This is decent accommodation, but it could be better value.

First time using uni-accommodations and had the unique perspective of staying at Corner Brook's Grenfell campus [$42/night] and at St John's McPherson College [$109/night]. Found the value at McPherson [when compared to a local "Hotel 6"] not at all compelling for repeat business. Even tho' the accommodations were private [not shared shower/toilet], the keycard access had me worried that I might end up locked out of my bedroom after a midnight pee - would have to pad down 3 flights to the front desk in my skivvies!
Loved the monastic feel -- very quiet, respectful neighbours.

Staying at MU brought back many nice memories having shared a bedroom growing up and then our time away at university.Their free breakfast was amazing, lots of choice hot and cold. Delicious hot coffee, NFLD s own brand Jumping Bean, available for sale everywhere in St. Johns. Now that is brand support! We understand the hot breakfast feature was a trial. Please keep it going. The free WIFI was a bonus.
