Only stayed 1 night, but plan on staying again on our next trip. Staff was great! Very clean, with great character.

The Westgate is a beautiful property with wonderful staff and great food/cocktail options. The train outside was the only downfall as you could hear it at night. The area itself is okay as well. Lots of homeless encampments but never felt unsafe.

The staff was so nice, helpful, and accommodating! I absolutely loved all the amenities, especially the spa, pool, and outdoor gym! Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing hotel! One of the best I’ve ever stayed in, they gave me a free room upgrade upon arrival, two free bottles of wine, and a complementary late checkout. My room was huge and so clean and comfortable. And the view was incredible! The bed and shower were amazing and I loved the bath robes we were given. The gym and pool are so nice and the sauna was a great feature too. Great location as well you can walk to so many great restaurants and bars. I loved this hotel if I go back to San Diego this is the only place I’d stay. Only problem is I wish they had complimentary parking instead of $50 per night valet, but there is a parking garage across the street that is $30 for overnight parking.

Beautifully decorated with gorgeous rooms and outside spaces. Keurig in room, but no complimentary coffee in lobby.

The hotel room was not cleaned properly; we found items from previous guests strewn about the room. Additionally, the hot water in the shower was not working. I asked several times for this to be fixed and promised several times that engineering would address the issue but at no time during our stay was the problem fixed nor a reasonable alternative proposed (i.e. a new room). I was told that me and my 3 children could use the showers in the gym in the building next to the hotel if we needed to shower.

Fantastic service - from bellhop to parking garage to front desk to the bar. Centrally located and was easy to walk to many things. Very large room.

All the staff was exceptional.

We always enjoy staying at the Westgate hotel. However, my wife experienced difficulty walking back from the ball game, so much so that she could not walk. Thanks to the night manager and her associates they gave us a wheel- chair, ice and extra pillows for sleeping. The service was outstanding from everyone involved. We also wish to thank the to thank George, the valay and John, the food and bar manager. We plan on staying at the Westgate again.

Everything was spectacular

Well kept luxury hotel in the heart of downtown. Has an older vibe to it but is modern and elegant. The room was a great size. Location was excellent for walking to Petco Park, San Diego Bay, and 5th street. The staff was very helpful, especially David. He helped arrange a taxi to be ready for us for airport transportation. The price for was more than fair. Would stay here again.

Good location , closed to Gaslamp San Diego Downtown

Love this hotel. Room service was slow. I feel the owners are letting it go down in overall quality. But I still love the large rooms and bathrooms.

Walking distance to main attractions and Petco park.

I ADORED the Westgate hotel: room, pool/spa, Sunday afternoon tea were all fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful. I miss the era of the classic, elegant, luxury hotel and Westgate hit all the marks. The property itself is glorious, walkable to everything, but so many homeless makes the surrounding area just smelly and sad.

Very nice hotel with old school charm. Very clean and nicely appointed. A few tweaks in the room as far as updating fixtures and some furniture are due. Staff was outstanding.

I was here for a exhibition in San Diego Convention Center. Good: The location of this hotel is excellent, lots of cafes and restaurants in the neiborhood, supermarket is also not far. The employee are well trained, very hospital. I'd like to thank David for his extraordinary services that makes me feel like at home. During my 3 days stay, he helped me several times of different issues, each time he is very polite, patient and solved my issues efficiently. Bad: Noise (tram, police car) from streets.

This was our 4th stay at the westgate and it has been consistently nice. The rooms are quiet with comfortable bedding. I do wish room service stayed open a little later as our flight had been delayed and by the time we got there, the kitchen had closed 10 minutes ago. Breakfast is always good. Gabriel took care of us all three mornings and was an amazing personality to have at the hotel. He remembered things we had told him, gave suggestions, and clearly cared about us-after the three days, he felt like family!!! Thanks Gabriel-we will be back this summer for another weekend getaway and will come see you for sure! Thanks Westgate, until next time!!

they were amazing. we were there for a staycastion and a concert. They were so welcoming and they hotel is special to SD with the historical connection

Staff was fantastic, everyone we spoke to was so friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Spa and pool area were amazing, with a really impressive gym setup. My girls were so excited about how "fancy" everything was, it was super fun to see their reaction to everything. The hotel has a little visible age, but everything was in great working order and was fun to explore. Also, the shower in our room had the best water pressure I have ever had in my life!

Hotel looked pleasant upon arrival. Check in was efficient. Staff at reception pleasant but not overly warm, apart from a male receptionist who was friendly, businesslike and helpful. Room was spacious and clean. More information in room both about the hotel and surrounding area would have been helpful. Hotel lacked a personal feel but was adequate for our needs. Had to ask for a map on arrival. Just a little bit more detail would have enhanced our stay.

Gaslamp district is a bit sketchy. Lots of homeless around.
