The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Lancaster. The staff are friendly and helpful. We were given a tour if the accomodation on arrival and shown to our room. Although breakfast is not included, there is complimentary fruit, cereal and porridge available. The room and bathroom are spotlessly clean and cosy. £80 well spent.

We stayed in a Superior Room. Room was lovely and big. Super king bed was so comfortable. Room had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful. We had a lovely stay. Thank you.

9 mins walk from the station staff are wonderful Nothing to much trouble- room really cosy sleep wonderful like being at home.small hotel pub but I love this - 18 above quality time few drinks and lots of old fashioned games like guess who etc. perfect for university first visit opening day has the bus stop right outside to the university bus 1 or 1A the university is not in walking distance about 45mins walk Hotel /pub bar perfect for has in the city centre

A hidden gem! Clean, comfortable and with great character, I'm really glad I found this hotel - only a 15 minute walk from the train station and five minutes walk from my morning destination - and would highly recommend it. Very friendly welcome when I arrived, clear instructions about how to get in and out of the property if I had wanted to go out later in the evening after the bar had shut.

Amazing little find, the staff are really accommodating and the rooms are massive. We had room one which was loverly decorated and the bed was amazing. We had a small issue with the noise from the bar but the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and even offered us complementary drinks for the inconvenience. There’s small little gestures in the room was are fantastic, there’s also cereal and porridge in the room with additional yogurts, milk, juice and fruit in a fridge in the main hallway. Excellent stay and will be back again!

4th time staying here and will always recommend . Staff go above and beyond and property , bar area and rooms really nice . We always book superior room due to size and would say room 1 that we have just stayed in was the best

Comfortable and clean. It does however seem very expensive (£150 per night) and did not include the little touches of luxury which might be expected for this type of luxury price.

Our stay in The Royal hotel was top class. It was very clean, the bed was large and comfortable. The TV was the largest that I have ever had in a hotel room, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be that there was a large mirror directly opposite the bed. So every time I sat up in the bed I was confronted with my own ugly mug! Seriously though, one of the best places I have ever stayed. 10/10.

Sadly the outside of the hotel was a total mess as multiple black binsacks had been ransacked by seagulls. I know this happens, but the mess was there for at least 18 hours that I could see and that's a shame as the inside and service were great - I'm sure the bin incident isn't a daily occurrence, but for me, it was real sadly

Gorgeous, super clean, spacious room with modern, quality furnishings. Lovely staff. Grab n go breakfast a real bonus and we visited the Brew cafe (which was lovely) using the discount card we received at check in. Great location and handy payable carpark at v reasonable cost (£2 6pm-8 am or £9.50 for the 24h rover ticket to use at other car parks). The castle was great and Ashton’s memorial in Williamson park had amazing views. Loved the butterfly house there too. Enjoyed the city museum in market square and the flower bowl entertainment centre near Preston was fab too! Delicious “happy hour” meal at Spaghetti house round the corner was perfect for laid back family meal for us.

We had a lovely stay I have never slept in a bed as big and comfortable. The room was perfect a good size and very clean. I liked the fact that we had a separate entrance to the bar and the breakfast station was a great idea and much appreciated. Location was excellent we couldn’t have asked for better in the centre but in a quiet area. We would definitely stay here again
