Dogo loved the yard

My family and I stayed for a wedding at Ashton Hill Farm. It was a great place for our family to hang out. Had everything we needed, very nicely decorated and comfortable. We had our dog with us and the doggie touches were nice and appreciated. Great backyard although we didn’t get to enjoy it as much as we wanted to. Would definitely stay there again and hope that we do.

Property is located with a train track right next to it! Train was permanent going on and off thru the night. Owners wanted to charge us $20 per hour for early or late checkin. Upstairs bathroom drain not working. Cute place but not as cute as it looks!

This property was perfect for our group. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We are already talking about a return visit!

Place was very clean and in a quiet area but still very close to downtown which is convenient. Philip was prompt with communicating any needs or questions we had.

This is my third trip to The Nook. Adorable home equipped with everything you need, ideal location - easily walkable to downtown Galena, and the HOT TUB is my favorite part :) Highly recommend this property!

Hadn't been to Galena in years and it was certainly worth the trip. We had a great time, the house set up was great, everything we needed and it was an easy walk to downtown. We enjoyed the hot tub and the dogs loved the fenced in backyard!

The house was super clean, the beds are excellent, very nice linens. Some suggestions for improvement: the kitchen is lacking (no wine glasses, no rock glasses), broken pans, nothing extra (like no coffee). One of the beds didn't have a top sheet, only one towel and wash cloth per person for 3 days. Also both bathroom sinks didn't drain well and seemed to be backing up. Galena had a boil water order when we arrived and we didn't know until we got a notice delivered that the order had ended. We drank the tap water no knowing this was happening. The television was impossible to use.

Amazingly kept property in close proximity of the downtown area and amenities. Clean and cozy, we will be repeat customers.

We loved our stay! It was such a great location, so easy to walk to downtown Galena. We loved having the large backyard for our pup and the hot tub in the cold weather!

We really enjoyed our stay.

We had a great time and our rental was perfect for a weekend getaway.

We had a wonderful trip to Galena on Labor Day & stayied for 4 days at this cozy little home (The Nook). Nice fenced yard complete with fire pit and a hot tub on the deck! The home is at the end of a quiet street (there were trains that pass by but it’s not much of a distraction). The home is close to downtown and close to other area attractions. You can’t go wrong if you book your stay at The Nook!

Adorable little house with great big fenced in years! Our two city dogs loved chasing balls in the yard and we loved the short drive to Main Street for shopping & dining! Would definitely recommend!

My family enjoyed the stay at The Nook. Very clean, comfortable house. I loved walking across the pedestrian bridge to get to the town. Wonderful, convenient access to all the good attractions. Good host, cute decor, lots of towels. The only downside is the proximity to the train as it blow horn at night.

Great accommodation... very thoughtfully organized, we had 2 dogs with us and fenced back yard was great hang out.... the owners had thought of your pets, had pet treats, wipes, pet bed and even doggy water bowls... they did not forget kids too, had ice cream and few snacks. Was pleasantly surprised to see the OMG forgotten item box, even a stepper for small kids. We loved the place, very close to Galena downtown, great evening walks close to the train tracks. One point to comment is it would be ideal to have spotlight or some form of illumination to the back yard. After dark the deck light do not provide enough light to the yard. We were prepared with a flashlight. The nook was a great place to relax and enjoy. we will have no hesitation to come back.

This was our second stay at The Nook. We absolutely love this charming place! From the close proximity to downtown, opportunity to bring our fur babies along, the hot tub, fenced in yard, and overall vibe of the house, we can’t wait to come back and stay again.

The property was beautiful and clean. The beds were sooo comfy! The walk to downtown Galena was easy. We didn’t have to drive at all. The property manager was very kind and helpful. We I’ll be back for sure.

I reached out a few hours before check-in to receive instructions via the Vrbo app & didn’t receive a response until the next day. Thankfully, I checked my spam and was able to access the property as the access instructions came from a management company and straight to my junk mail. The house wasn’t secure upon entering, as the back door was unlocked. House was much much smaller than what was pictured. The living room ottoman had a broken leg so was not usable. The living room was covered in dog hair so I had to clean it to get comfortable. The master bedroom bed was lumpy, saggy, and squeaked w/ every toss & turn. The linens smelled like body oder. Second bedroom upstairs was uncomfortable. 3rd bedroom downstairs was freezing. We ended up staying 1night & left a night early as the home just wasn’t comfortable for my family of 4. Great location, wish it was a place we wanted to return to.
