When checking in there was a hand written note that staff had to step away and to call the number listed. This number just rang and nobody answered. After approximately 15 minutes a young man walked in from outside and didn't say a word to us. Then the entire hotel was being remodeled which would have been nice to know when making the reservation. The bed creeked but was comfortable. The room was clean but the bathroom had a shower head that leaked and the tub looked like it came out of a junk yard. Overall disappointment.

Taking the pool out so that was a bummer but overall everything was fine.

They were booked up and did not have a room for us we ended up having a sleep in the car. Please refund

Broken glass around the hotel, very little green space for dog. Breakfast was cold...ok place to stay for a quick overnight but I'll not go back..

They are working on this property. I can't wait to stay there again when it's finished.

Not going to lie, this place is not good. It needs a big refresh, like I mean BIG. Pool is being taken out which was a huge draw and I didn’t see any mention of that. The only saving grace was the staff. They were really nice and friendly. Lobby, check in and breakfast bar were all still quite nice. It’s clean enough for the 12 hours we were there and we used to stay here a few years back and it was so much better then. Better than a few choices in Gillette, but not by much. We honestly would’ve gone somewhere else if it hadn’t already been paid for. Too bad because it could be really nice.

We tried to check into the Red Lion in Gillette WY that we booked through Expedia for the night of July 13, 2024. When we tried to check in, the employee at the desk informed us that they had no room for us, that 3rd party sellers were booking rooms they did not have. We want a refund for the room we paid for through Expedia. Please respond

When we checked in and went to our room, the room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. So they moved us to a different room. Room 140 This room did not have any ac. The only thing that saved us from roasting was the fact that we were on a long trip and had brought a room fan from home. I am going to email the manager some more details THIS HOTEL IS UNDERGOING RENOVATION BUT SHOULD SHUT DOWN TO DO THE BIG STUFF.

The hotel was located in a crack neighborhood, the “outside” room was not “outside” it was on the 3rd floor. The elevator was unsafe for kids and missing parts. You walk in the room and it reeked of mold, hair in the toilet, dirt/mud all over the shower, bedsheets looked like there were fresh stains. Feels like they didn’t even change out the sheets. We walked up to our room, stayed for 5 minutes and then decided to go to a different hotel. Overall unsafe for our family. Wouldn’t ever stay here again.

This hotel was under severe renovation when we stayed. Just stating the facts: Pool closed; no workout room (hotels.com says there is); dark, dingy lobby decor; front desk person could have more welcoming. Although it was worn out and dated, our room was clean, comfortable, and safe. Breakfast was passable overall; fruit was not fresh and selection was sparse, but we found enough to eat. My ratings reflect this combination of factors. With that said, there's a lot of potential for this hotel. There are three levels of rooms with balconies overlooking the pool; lots of space to be utilized for entertainment purposes; an attached casino; a connected Japanese restaurant; large ballroom / conference space; and a sauna. Based on this potential, I would give this place a second chance once renovations are complete.

Good price, clean.

Checked in. Dirty room, hair in the shower, ac didn’t work. Left my belongings in the room and went for dinner. Came back and the battery was dead in the key knob. The manager had to use a crow bar to breach into our room so we could get our belongings. Once the door was opened we were informed to stay in our room until we leave so as not to get locked out again

The sheets and towels were clean. There wasn’t a trash can in the room but the gal at the front found one for us. The buttons on the phone were gone. No air conditioning, but it was a cooler night, so it was bearable. The breakfast person failed to show up for work, so there wasn’t even coffee when we went for breakfast!

The hotel is under renovation. Some things have been renovated and some are still old and grubby.

This place is a WAR ZONE Under construction. Looks like DESTRUCTION They have a water leak that kept me UP ALL night. Horrible Experience

Despite renovations, which meant the pool was out of order and the a/c wasn't working, it was a pleasant stay. We bought a small fan for the room and we were comfortable. We love the hibachi grill in the hotel, the best we've ever had. The room was clean and the staff friendly. Ive stayed there before, and will again.
