The hotel and restaurant were wonderful. We were unable to use the shuttle service from the airport to the hotel so we had to walk. It's doable but not pleasant with luggage. Taxi wanted cash only!

The sleeping comfort was not good for me. The pillows were way to hard and so was the madras.

I arrived in Sofia airport and requested for a pick-up from the airport. We were told it’ll be 15 mins. I waited for a full hour before I finally saw a van with the Ibis sign. The driver was dropping someone off and was about to leave when I approached him - I was very annoyed and disappointed. I voiced my opinion when it had taken him an hour when I was told it would be 15 mins. I don’t mind waiting but be honest with me. It I was told 15 mins, I expected it to be either on time or 10-15 mins late but with an explanation. Not 45 mins late and was then screamed at the entire way to the hotel by the rude, obnoxious drive. He is an absolutely arrogant and represents your hotel extremely poorly. I told him I had called him 2 times on the hotel shuttle mobile number he refuted it. Even after I had shown his the missed calls. He continued to argue with him and shouted at me. It got no where as I said to him I would discuss the service failure with the Hotel Manager. He replied rudely and arrogantly “YOU CAN TALK TO WHOEVER YOU WANT”. What a rude and arrogant man. When I arrived at the hotel, I spoke to the Manager on duty. He apologised profusely and remembered very well when the call was made for pickup. He was also at a loss why he didn’t turn up as promised. My hunch is, the shuttle driver had forgotten to pick me up and never did turn up. When I turned up in his face when he dropped someone off, he was taken aback I was even waiting for him!

First room stank of smoke Second room had no bed made, air conditioning didn’t work, 28 degrees in the room, full of mosquitoes, shower didn’t work, noise outside. Said I would get a refund nothing yet.

Not happy with some of the staff behavior. I complained via email but didn’t even get a response. The hotel is really just a necessary evil when you need to stay near the airport…. They could do so much better if they cared.

The hotel was clean , the shuttle excellent service, the staff friendly and helpful. Rooms were small and not much fresh air, breakfast was good ,but small selection. My expectation for the original price of almost 100 $ was much better facility ans service. For this standard is overrrated and expensive. But generally clean and the bed and pillows very comfortable 😌

The Ibis Sofia airport is a typical airport hotel. The free transport is good. The dining oportunities are limited. The rooms have nothing belonging to the hotel other than the TV, sheets and towels. The room had a coffee maker, but not a cup to use. The air conditioning in the room did not work. If you need any hotel supplies, buy them at the Sofia airport before arriving at the hotel.

I have stayed in Ibis hotels all over Europe and Asia so I know what the standard should be and this hotel didn’t meet it. There is a lack of basic amenities in the room; no bin in bedroom, no cups or glasses of any description in the room, a kettle was provided in the room but nothing else was provided to assist you in making a hot drink. The restaurant was only open 5pm - 10pm despite the advertised hours being much longer. Bar drinks very expensive. In the room there was dirt, grime and hairs everywhere. No attention to detail in the cleaning regime. The walls were thin, I could hear next door getting a text message, having a normal chat, running the tap etc. The towels are thin, scruffy and old looking. Inefficient and loud aircon system in room. I was surprised to read that the hotel was built in 2014 as everything looks tired, dirty and as a result feels older than 10 years. From time to time the room smelled of cigarette smoke which seemed to be coming through the bathroom air vent. Expensive hotel for what it is. Would never stay again. Ordered a vegetarian take away breakfast for an early departure but none was provided, in the morning there were no veggie breakfasts available. Pros Bed reasonably comfortable although mattress topper moved about a bit. Close to airport 24/7 Airport shuttle (book your time at reception)
