Nothing to complain about. If you really want to complain you will always find something. In general all was good and the stay was perfect.

High price for a very small room

the facilities, the location, access to the beach was amazing and the hotel overall was wonderful, the bedroom was really well equipped.

overall service was cold and not what is expected of a high star hotel. very hierarchical- waiters, cleaners, bar staff all good but too many managers walking around contributing little. It was clear everyone had their role but not to do anything more - when we asked the maitre de for a coffee rather than pouring it she left to get someone, asked a table server to place our order they had to go get someone else, when asked a guy behind the bar for a drink he said he can’t serve etc etc. All small things but very strange. not one person asked where we were from, how was our trip etc and we were their for 7 days. All very tip driven but no service. we paid for breakfast but this turned out to be one plate of either four dishes and coffee and one juice. for a five star hotel! this meant if you wanted say fruit and an omelette you paid extra for one of them. This was not explained at booking and when we spoke to the very unhelpful front desk they said they would speak to a manager, nothing happen and nobody came to speak with us. the beach is unregulated by the hotel so though a bed and towel are included an umbrella is not! you pay extra again! and you pay a tip ! the adult only but it’s not on the beach and non hotel guests can use the beach area - often groups of people paying for only two beds which makes it very uncomfortable and unsafe. The hotel when asked , again said they would speak to a manger and ……. nobody spoke with us!

small rooms. no gym. really no flexibility in check in our check out. in fact at 5 of 11 they called to kick us out and the maid showed 2 between 10:45-11 very agressive.

Very relaxing adult only environment, staff were very friendly and attentive, excellent hotel!

Front desk and check in staff were rude and so cynical. Rooms are old and very small. We changed three times the room since we arrived and we didn't ask to change again because we were tired of packing and unpacking. Firs room was for disabled person with a inadequate bathroom and the bed was incredibly small and dark at 4th floor. We asked for another room and after all they gave us a room in the 11th floor. DON´T ACCEPT ANY ROOM AT 11TH FLOOR! The 11th floor is for laundry, linen room, electric room and employes. That room was just behind the elevators and nobody could sleep so noisy it was. They said there were no other room, but afterall we changed to another room again in 11th floor. city view It was a double bed for a couple and everything was old and not functional. The price we payed for this horrible room city view was superior than the price we could pay to a cabana room and significantly higher than the price for an ocean view double room. as we checked in Booking.com. The manager was rude and cynical. He treated us with contempt and we felt discrimination all the time. They lied all the time, so it was a lie that there were no more rooms, that the hotel was sold out and that nobody had the right to late check out that they denied us from 11AM to 1PM. The water pressure in the shower was insufficient, electrical outlet wasn't fixed and the maid cleaned the room after 3PM during our stay. The hall and dinner room of the hotel is freezing and, if it is no good weather outside we don't have anywhere to go except the bar. I had some work to do and no place in the hotel to stay a few hours working in computer. Bad hotel with innapropriate 4 star classification. We stayed in this hotel in last August 2022 and everything was ok. That is why we decided to come back again. It was a bad decision! During our stay in January 2023 everything was awful!

Classic Art Deco building and supreme location. Epic pool for pics but didn’t get much sun. Felt smaller and more intimate than some of the larger hotels nearby. Price was right and my room (Cabana King) had a terrace and view . Check in was smooth and receptionist offered me a few room/view options based on availability even without my asking. Quite nice and rare

Everything is a bit dated and the hotel never manages to feel high-end or have an identity. Rooms feel cold and sterile with low end finishes and weak design. Valet charge is very high at 47.00 a night.

The location was fantastic. We stayed at a hotel closer to the cruise terminal and it was more expensive but not a patch on this hotel. The art deco rooms are amazing - especially the fridge. The pool and the facilities by the beach are also fantastic. We could have spent all our 4 days here, which we would have done if we’d booked this one first. It was faultless. Trust me when I say don’t hunt around - just book it. It was truly outstanding.

I have stayed at the National many times and liked the location, pool, garden and breakfast, especially the oatmeal.

Restaurant changed management and oatmeal is tasteless, room was much too cluttered with excess furniture, no light above mirror in hallway and magnifying mirror in bathroom set at height for 6 foot tall man, not average height of woman, couldn’t slide closet door to access safe or drawers. Maintenance removed the two sliding doors, but didn’t replace them or offer to move me.

The built in restaurant was great with excellent food

The damn houskeepers were a pest, trying to rush us out even before the 11Am time and then complaining to management, who also harrassed us to leave, before 11am mind you. Completely ruined our stay and was completel unacceptable. Rather than extending our stay, we went to greener pastures.
