Staff, lobby and bar/food
Leak from ceiling in living room, no exhaust fan in bathroom, bathroom and closet door very hard to open, hair dryer sucked, for a recently remodeled room it was not worth the $270 we paid. Would not come back again.

Location is great. I’ve stayed here a few other times but it’s been a few years. Pool is nice. Convenient bar/restaurant at the property.
The rooms/halls seem like they have aged drastically. Everything seemed MUCH more ran down and dingy. The pool/lobby/bar area looks wonderful but the halls and rooms are far less appealing for the cost of room.

the pool was very nice, my kids loved it. The restaurant had delicious food and a full service bar for dinner and the breakfast buffet had a nice variety of options. My kids also loved the parrot in the lobby.
just had a few issues that were out of the hotel’s control.

The beds were so comfortable!!
When we booked it said it included continental breakfast, when in fact it didn’t and we had to pay $9.99/person for it.

it was clean and checking was easy
our room was on the farthest end of the hotel and next to railroad tracks. there were several trains that ran through during the night. also the bed was so high I could barely get in . a step would have been handy.

The pool and hot tub (until all kinds of unkempt kids were allowed to go crazy)
RUDE, stuck up staff who seemed to enjoy boasting how much better they were than other hotels.

There was no breakfast available. We are both handicapped and we told them that and they gave us the last room on the top floor. There were lots of people who came after us, they could have made better accommodations.
I asked about getting into bed because it was too high and they said sorry that is the way it is without any solutions at all. The didnt even care

It was clean and very comfortable. We could bring our dog without a huge outlay as we stayed one night.
It would be nice if one pet stayed for free.

I loved everything about this hotel other than my dirty room. #115
My son had lost a shoe in our room and upon looking for it, I realized how dirty our room was. Cob webs in the corner, behind the curtains on the floor hadn't been vacuumed in a very long time. Mold on the bathroom ceiling (which I'm allergic to) and the floors was just dreadfully filthy. Our room had a very strong musty smell. Also, upon looking beside the bed closest to the wall, my son had discovered some kids toys (ball pit ball and a child's toy knife) that another person had left.

The location is a bit scary for a traveller unaccustomed to West Virginia. The hotel is lovely but is in an uncomfortable part of town.
